Memory functions*
Storing settings
Using the memory button you can store up to
three different settings, e. g. for three differ-
ent people.
The following settings are stored as asingle
memory preset:
R position of the seat, backrest and head
restraint
R driver's side :steering whee lposition
R driver's side :position of the exterior mir-
rors on the driver's and front-passenger
sides G
Risk of injury
The memory function can still be use dwhen
the key has been removed .For this reason,
children should never be left unsupervised in
the vehicle. Otherwise, they coul dbecome
trappe dwhen moving the seat or the steering
wheel. G
Risk of accident
Only use the memory function on the driver's
side when the vehicl eisstationary. Other-
wise, you coul dbedistracted from the traffic
conditions by the steering whee land seat
moving of their own accord, and as aresult
caus eana ccident. X
Adjust the seat( Ypage6 6).
X On the driver's side ,alsoa djust the steer-
ing whee l(Y page7 1) and the mirrors
(Y page7 3).
X Press memory button Mand press storage
position switch 1,2or 3withi nthree sec-
onds.
The settings are stored in the selected pre-
set position. Atone sound swhen the set-
tings have been completed. Calling up

The seat, steering whee land exterior mirror
are set in the stored position.
i The setting procedure is interrupted as
soon as you release the storage position

To make it easier to park, you can set and
store the front-passenge rside exterior mirror
position in such awaythat you can see the
rear whee lonthat side as soon as you engage
reverse gear.

properly. Therefore, they always shoul dbe
secured in asuitable child restraint system
on asuitable vehicle seat .You can find

vertical. Under certain circumstances, this

has been subjected to aload in an accident
or whic hhas been modified no longer offers

Always have damage dseat belt sorseat belts
that have been subjected to aload in an acci-
den treplaced at aqualified specialist work-
shop .Consult aqualified specialist workshop
whic hhas th enecessar yspecialist knowledge
and tools to carry out th ework required.
Mercedes-Ben zrecommend sthaty ou use a
Mercedes-Ben zServic eCentre for this pur-
pose.
For safety reasons, Mercedes-Ben zrecom-
mends that you only use seat belt swhichhave
been approved by Mercedes-Ben zfor your
vehicle.
The seat-belt extender for th edriver and front
passenger helps you fasten your seat belt. Example
:Coupé
Seat-belt extender 0046is extended when the
respectiv edoor is closed and th ekeyis
turned to position 1or 2in th eignition lock.
Seat-belt extender 0046is retracte dagain if:
R theb elt tongue is engaged in th eseat belt
buckle.
R theb elt tongue is no tengaged in th eseat
belt buckle within 60 seconds.
R ther espectiv edoor is opened.
R thek eyis turned to position 0in th eignition

The switches for al lsidew indow sare located
on the driver' sdoor. There is also aswitch on
the front-passenger doo raswellasont he
doors in the rea rcompartment on the left and
right-hand sides for the respectiv esidew in-
dow.
X Turn the key to position 2in the ignition
lock.
i You can continu etooperate the sid ewin-
dow safteryou switch off the engine. This
function remains active for five minutes or
unti lone of the front doors is opened.
X To open: press the corresponding switch.
X To close: pull the corresponding switch.
i Whe nopening or closing the front side
windows, yo ucan star tautomatic opera-
tion. To do so, press or pull the switch to
just beyond the point of resistance in the
relevant direction. You can stop automatic
operation by pressing or pulling again.

Activating/deactivating the radar sensor
system*

Keeping the AIRCAP draught stop horizon-
tal, guide it into the slot betwee nthe head
restraints in the direction of the arrow with
both racks straight down.
X Push the AIRCAP draught stop down until
the bolts are at the same heigh tasthe
mountings on the head restraints.
X Insert the bolts into the mountings on both
sides.
X Turn the bolts firmly with the 4mmhex-
socket wrench until they engage.
The markings on the bolts are vertical. Changing batteries (key)

It is advisabletoh ave the batteries replaced
at aq ualified specialist workshop, e.g. at a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre. G
Risk of poisoning
Batteries contain toxic and caustic substan-
ces. For this reason, keep batteries awayf rom
children.
If ab attery is swallowed, consult adoctor
immediately. H
Environmental note
Do not dispose of batteries with the house-
hold rubbish. They contain highl ytoxic sub-
stances.
Take discharged batteries to aqualified spe-
cialist workshop, e.g. aMercedes-Benz Service Centre, or to
aspecia lcollection point
for old batteries. Key

Press the 0037or0036 button.
The battery is working properl yifthe bat-
tery charge indicator lamp lights up briefly.
Removing/installing the battery You require

X Remove the emergency key element from
the key (Y page 249). X
Press the emergency key element into the
opening in the key in the direction of
arrow 0047until cover 0046of the battery tray
opens. Be sure that yourf ingers are not
