different ai rpum ps. Version 1can be identi-
fie dbyt he flap, behind which the hos ewith
the pressure gaug eand cable are located;

the electri cairpump.

Ope nflap 0047on the electri cairpump.
X Pull connector 0086with cable and ai rpump
hose 0087outoft he housing.
X Screw ai rpum phose 0087onto flange 006Eof
TIREFIT sealant fille rbottle 0046.
X Place TIREFIT sealant fille rbottle 0046head
downwards into recess 008Aof the electric
ai rp um p. X
Remove the cap from valve 0070on the faulty
tyre. X
Make sure pressure release screw 0071on
pressure gauge 0072is fully closed.
X Screw fille rhose 006Fonto valve 0070.
X Inser tconnector 0086into the socke tofthe
cigarette lighter* (Y page 173) or into a
12 Vp ower socke t(Ypage 174) in your
vehicle.
X Vehicles without KEYLES SGO*: turn the
key to position 2(Y page 65) in the ignition
lock.
X Vehicles with KEYLES SGO*: press the
Start/Stop button twice (position
2 (Y page 66)).
X Press on/off switch 0088on the electri cair
pump to I.
The electri cairpump is switched on. The
tyre is inflated.
i First, TIREFIT is pumpe dinto the tyre .The
pressure can briefl yrisetoa round 5bar.
Do no tswitcho ff the electric pump dur-
ing this phase.
X Let the electri cpum prun for five minutes.
The tyre shoul dthen have apressure of at
leas t1.8 bar.
! Do not operate the electri cairpump for
longer than eight minutes at atime without
ab reak. It may otherwise overheat.
The ai rpum pcan be operate dagain once
it ha scooled down. Flat tyre

from the electri cpum p.
X Pump up the tyr eagain. G

Do not drive any further .Consult aquali fied
specialist workshop which ha sthe necessary
specialist knowledge and tool stocarry out
the work required .Mercedes-Benz recom-
mend stha tyou useaM ercedes-Benz Service
Centre for thi spurpose. In particular, work
relevant to safety or on safety-relate dsys-
tems must be carrie doutataq uali fied spe-

Risk of accident
Have the collapsible emergency spare
wheel *replaced with anew wheel as soon as
possible at aqualified specialist workshop
which has the necessary specialist knowledge
and tools to carry out the work required.
Mercedes-Benz recommends that you use a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centr efor this pur-
pose. In particular, work relevant to safety or
on safety-related systems must be carried out
at aq ualified specialist workshop.
Preparing the vehicle i
Vehicles without aspare wheel* are not
equipped with wheel-changing tools at the
factory. For more information on which
tools are required to perform awheel
change on your vehicle, e.g. wheel chock,
centring pin or wheel wrench, consult a
Mercedes-Benz Service Centre.
X Prepare the vehicle as described
(Y page 263).
X Ifat railer is coupled to the vehicle, uncou-
ple it.
X Brin gthe wheels into the straight-ahead
position.
X Remove the following items from the stow-
age well under the boot floor:
R
the "Minispare" emergency spare
wheel*
R the vehicle tool kit
R the folding wheel chock
R the jack
Use the folding wheel choc ktopreventthe
vehicle from rolling away. X
Fold both plates 0046upwards.
X Fold out lower plate 0047.
X Guide the lugs on the lower plate fully into
opening sinbase plate 008A. Securin
gthe vehicle on level ground
X On level ground: place the folding wheel
choc kora similar item under the wheel that
is diagonally opposite to the wheel you wish

X Make sure that the windscreen wiper sare

Make sure that the windscreen wiper sare
turne doff and the key is pulled ou tofthe igni-
tion lock before yo uopenthe cove rofthe fuse
box. Otherwise, the windscreen wiper sand
the wiper rod sabove the cove rcould be set
in motion. Thi scould lead to yo uorothers
being injured by the wiper rods. X
To open: openthe bonne t(Ypage 180). X
Remove moistur efrom the fus ebox using
ad ry cloth.
X Uncli plines 0047 from the lid.
X Move asid elines 0047.R oute the lines behind
connection 008Ato do this.
X Ope nclamps 0046and unhook the corre-
sponding wire straps at the bottom.
X Lift off the fus ebox cove rtowards the front
of the vehicle.
X To close: check whethe rthe rubber sea lis
positioned correctly in the lid.
X Inser tthe li dinto the bracket at the rea rof
the fus ebox.
X Press the li ddowna nd secure with
clamps 0046.
X Clip lines 0047onto the lid.
X Close the bonne t(Ypage 180). Fus
