Charging the battery using a battery charger
 Disconnect the battery from the vehicle.
 Follow the instructions for use pro-vided by the manufacturer of the charger.
 Reconnect starting with the negative terminal (-).
 Check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are covered with sulphate (whitish or greenish deposit), remove them and clean them.
LOAD REDUCTION MODE
System which manages the use of certain functions in relation to the level of charge remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is being driven, the load reduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning, the rear screen de-icing...
The deactivated functions are reactivat-ed automatically as soon as conditions permit.

ENERGY ECONOMY MODE
System which manages the duration of use of certain functions to conserve a sufficient level of charge in the battery.
After the engine has stopped, you can still use functions such as the audio equipment, windscreen wipers, dipped headlamps, courtesy light, etc. for a maximum combined duration of thirty minutes.
Exiting economy mode
These functions are reactivated auto-matically next time the vehicle is driven.
 In order to resume the use of these functions immediately, start the en-gine and let it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then be double the duration for which the en-gine is left running. However, this period will always be between five and thirty minutes.
Switching to economy mode
Once the thirty minutes are over, a message appears on the multifunction display indicating that the vehicle has switched to economy mode and the ac-tive functions areput on standby.
CHANGING A WIPER BLADE
Procedure for replacing a worn wiper blade with a new one without the use of tools.
Removing a front wiper blade
 Raise the corresponding wiper arm.
 Unclip the wiper blade and remove it.
Fitting a front wiper blade
 Check the size of the wiper blade as the shorter blade is fitted on the right-hand side of the vehicle.
 Put the corresponding new wiper blade in place and clip it.
 Fold down the wiper arm carefully.

TOWING THE VEHICLE
Procedure for having your vehicle towed or for towing another vehicle using a removable towing eye.
Access to the tools
Towing your vehicle
 On the front bumper, unclip the cover by pressing at the bottom.
 Screw the towing eye in fully.
 Install the towbar.
 Switch on the hazard warning lights on the towed vehicle.
 On the rear bumper, unclip the cover by pressing at the bottom.
 Screw the towing eye in fully.
 Install the towbar.
 Switch on the hazard warning lights on the towed vehicle.
Towing another vehicle
The towing eye is installed in a holder at the bottom of the boot under the floor.
To gain access to it:
 place the vehicle in "coupé" configu-ration,
 open the boot,
 raise the floor,
 remove the towing eye from the holder.

TOWING A TRAILER,
CARAVAN, etc.
Towbar suited to the attachment of a trailer or caravan with additional signal-ling and lighting.
Your vehicle is primarily designed for transporting people and luggage, but it may also be used for towing a trailer.
We recommend the use of original PEUGEOT towbars that have been tested and approved from the design stage of your vehicle and that the fitting of the towbar is entrusted to a PEUGEOT dealer.
Driving with a trailer subjects the towing vehicle to more significant stress and its driver must be particularly careful.
Driving advice
Distribution of loads
 Distribute the load in the trailer so that the heaviest items are as close as possible to the axle and the nose weight approaches the maximum permitted without exceeding it.
Air density decreases with altitude, thus reducing engine performance. Above 1 000 metres, the maximum towing load must be reduced by 10 % and so on for every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Refer to the "Technical Data" section for details of the weights and towing loads which apply to your vehicle.
In all cases, pay attention to the coolant temperature.
Side wind
 Take into account the increased sen-sitivity to side wind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases the temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its cooling capacity is not dependent on the engine speed.
 To lower the engine speed, reduce your speed.
The maximum towing load on a long slope depends on the gradient and the outside temperature.
Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking distance.
Tyres
 Check the tyre pressures of the towing vehicle and of the trailer, observing the recommended pres-sures.
Lights
 Check the electrical signalling on the trailer.
If the warning light and the STOP warning light come on, stop the vehicle and switch off the engine as soon as possible.

ROOF EMERGENCY MODE
Operating procedure for manual closing of the roof in the event of an electrical or hydraulic malfunction of the system.
The tool, provided in the glove box, is a size 6 AllenTM key.
If the opening or closing of the roof does not start or does not function correctly, check that all of the conditions below are met:
 the vehicle is stationary,
 the ignition is on,
 the screen is pulled,
 the boot is closed,
 the roof fuse is in good condition,
 the battery voltage is sufficient,
 the vehicle is not in energy economy mode,
 the electric windows are initialised,
 the exterior temperature is higher than -15 °C.
Otherwise, refer to the corresponding section to rectify the problem.
This operation is a breakdown solu-tion. It is intended to permit manual closing of the roof so that you can drive to a PEUGEOT dealership.
Two people are required to carry out this procedure.
Access to the tool
Preparation for the emergency procedure
 Park the vehicle on level ground, if possible.
 Lower all of the windows.
 Switch off the ignition.
 Apply the handbrake.
 Remove the remote control key from the starter.

 Open the boot lid.
 Roll up the screen.
 Remove the boot floor.
 Place the size 6 Allen key in the hydraulic unit housing, located in the centre of the spare wheel.
 Unscrew the bleed screw fully to release the hydraulic pressure in the roof mechanism.
 Pass your arm between the roof and the rear screen folded in the boot.
 Reach behind the shelf unlocking mechanism cover.
 Press and pull on the unlocking mechanism.
 Tilt the shelf into the boot.

 Press on each boot cover locking striker (x 2).
 Disengage each hook (x 2) from its pin.
 With one person on each side of the boot, raise the front part of the boot cover.
