Operation Condition
Once the following condition from below is established, alert or warning will be executed.
Warning/Information functions Operation procedure
Intelligent Key system malfunctionWhen a malfunction is detected on Intelligent Key unit, “KEY” warning lamp
will illuminates.
OFF position warning For internal
Ignition switch: ACC position.
Door switch (driver side): ON (Door is open).
For externalOFF position warning (For internal) is in active mode, driver side door has
been closed.
NOTE:
OFF position (For external) active only when each of the sequence has
occurred as below: P position warning
ACC warning OFF position warn-
ing (For internal)
OFF position warning (For internal)
P position warning
Shift position: Except P position
Engine is running to stopped (Ignition switch is ON to ACC)
ACC warning
During P position warning is in active mode, shift position has changed P
position.
Ignition switch: Except OFF position.
Take away warningDoor is open to close
Ignition switch: Except OFF position.
Door switch: ON to OFF (Door is open to close).
Intelligent Key can not be detected inside the vehicle.
Door is open
Door switch: ON (Door is open)
Key ID vilification every 5 seconds when registered Intelligent Key can not
be detected inside the vehicle.
Push-ignition switch

Ignition switch: Except OFF position.
Press ignition switch.
Intelligent Key can not be detected inside the vehicle.

Engine is running.
Key ID vilification every 30 seconds when registered Intelligent Key can not
be detected inside the vehicle.
After vehicle speed verification, the registered Intelligent Key can not be
detect inside the vehicle.
Intelligent Key is
removed from key slot
When Intelligent Key is removed from key slot, Intelligent Key can not be
detected inside the vehicle.
Door lock operation

Door switch: ON (Any door is open).
Intelligent Key is inside vehicle.
Intelligent Key button
operationWhen Intelligent Key bottom is pushed (lock operation) under the following
conditions.
Door switch: ON (Any door is open).
For 3 seconds after Intelligent Key is removed from key slot.
Key warning
Ignition switch is OFF position.
Driver side door switch: ON (Driver side door is open).
Intelligent Key is inserted in key slot.
Intelligent Key insert information
Door switch: ON to OFF (Door is open to close).
Ignition switch: OFF to ON position.
Intelligent Key is out of key slot.
Intelligent Key can not be detected inside the vehicle.

Warning Method
The following table shows the alarm or warning methods with chime.
Meter display, “KEY” indicator or key slot illumination when the warning conditions are met.

Steering lock information When steering lock can not be released after ignition switch is turned ON.
Intelligent Key low battery warningWhen Intelligent Key is low battery, Intelligent Key unit is detected after igni-
tion switch is turned ON.
Key ID warningWhen registered Intelligent Key can not be detected inside the vehicle after

Trouble Diagnosis ProcedureNIS001XG
WORK FLOW
1. CHECK IN
CHECK IN.
>> GO TO 2.
2. GET SYMPTOMS
Listen to customer complaints request. (Get symptoms)
NOTE:
If customer reports a “No start” condition, request all Intelligent Keys to be brought to the dealer in case of
Intelligent Key system malfunction.
Intelligent Key service request>>Refer to CONSULT-II operation manual.
Intelligent Key system is malfunctioning>>GO TO 3.
3. PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS
Perform self-diagnosis of Intelligent Key system with CONSULT-II.
“SELF-DIAG RESULTS” are displayed>>GO TO BL-81, "
SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS" .
“SELF-DIAG RESULTS” are not displayed>>GO TO 4.
4. CHECK FUNCTION OF INTELLIGENT KEY SYSTEM
Does all function of Intelligent Key system operate?
All function of Intelligent Key system does not operate>>GO TO BL-86, "
ALL FUNCTIONS OF INTELLI-
GENT KEY SYSTEM DOES NOT OPERATE" .
Specific function of Intelligent Key system does not operate>>GO TO 5.
5. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION
Does door lock/unlock operation by door lock and unlock switch operate?
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 6.
NG >> Refer to BL-24, "
POWER DOOR LOCK SYSTEM" .
6. CHECK DOOR REQUEST SWITCH OPERATION
Does door lock/unlock operation by door request switch operate?
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 7.
NG >> GO TO BL-86, "
DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK FUNCTION MALFUNCTION" .
7. CHECK TRUNK OPEN OPERATION
Does the trunk open operation by the trunk opener switch operate?
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 8.
NG >> Refer to BL-209, "

Does power window down function by Intelligent Key remote control button operate?
OK or NG
OK >> GO TO 12.

12. CHECK HAZARD AND BUZZER REMINDER FUNCTION BY REQUEST SWITCH
