CLIMATE CONTROL (continued)
This function rapidly demists/de-
ices the windscreen, the front side
windows and the door mirrors
(depending on the vehicle).
It imposes automatic operation of
the air conditioning, inhibits
recirculation and activates heating of
the rear screen (indicator light 13).
Press button 12if you do not want
rear screen heating to be activated,
indicator light 13goes out.
“Clear view” Function
Press button 1, operating indicator 2
lights up.
The AUTO button indicator light
(on the display) switches off. Note.:
if you wish to reduce the air
flow (which may produce a certain
amount of noise in the passenger
compartment), press button 11.
To exit this function , press either:
- button 1again,
- button 6 (the AUTO warning light
on the display illuminates).

Pull on tab 2.
Then, push the wiper blade
upwards.
To refit
To refit the wiper blade, proceed in
reverse order to removal. Make sure
that the blade is correctly locked in
position.
Clean your windscreen regularly.
Replacing windscreen wiper
blades 1
- With the ignition off , lift wiper
arm 3;
- turn the blade 1.
In frosty weather, makesure that the wiper
blades are not stuck by
ice (risk of motor
overheating).
Monitor the condition of the blades. Replace the wiper
blades as soon as they begin to
lose efficiency (approximately
once a year).

- Lift the wiper arm 6;
- move blade 5until some resistance
is met.
- remove the blade by pulling it. To refit

OPERATING FAULTS (continued)
On the open road CAUSES REMEDIAL ACTION
- weak or dead battery. Recharge or replace the battery.
Steering wheel hard to turn: - assistance overheating, Leave to cool.
The engine overheats. The coolant
temperature warning light comes on
(or the indicator needle is in the red
area). Coolant pump: belt stretched or
broken.
Engine cooling fan not working.
Stop the vehicle and switch off the
engine. Contact a RENAULT Dealer.
Coolant leaks. Check the condition of hoses and clips.
Check the expansion bottle: it should
contain coolant. If it does not, top it up
(once it has cooled). Take care not to
scald yourself. This action is only
temporary: contact your RENAULT
Dealer as soon as possible.
Radiator: never fill a hot radiator with cold coolant if a considerable quantity h\
as been lost. After any operation
on the vehicle which has involved even partial draining of the cooling s\
ystem, it must be refilled with a new
mixture prepared in the correct proportions. Reminder: only products app\
roved by RENAULT’s Technical
Department may be used for this purpose.
