you start driving.Adjust the outside mirrors with the
adjustment knob on the driver’s door
armrest:
Turn the adjustment knob to L
(driver’s side) or R (passenger’s
side).
The inside mirror can automatically
darken to reduce glare. To turn on
this feature, press the AUTO button
on the bottom of the mirror. The
indicator comes on as a reminder.
When it is on, the mirror darkens
when it senses the headlights of a
vehicle behind you, then returns to
normal visibility when the lights are
gone. Press the OFF button to turn
of f this f eature.

When you f inish, turn the
adjustment knob to the center
(of f ) position. This turns of f the
adjustment knob so you can’t
move a mirror out of position by
accidentally bumping the knob. Push or pull the adjustment knob
in the appropriate direction to
move the mirror right, left, up, or
down.The outside mirrors are heated to re-
move fog and frost. With the ignition
switch in the ON (II) position, turn
on the heaters by pressing the but-
ton. The light in the button comes on
as a reminder. Press the button
again to turn the heaters off.

To apply the parking brake, pull the
lever up f ully. To release it, pull up
slightly, push the button, and lower
the lever. The parking brake light on
the instrument panel should go out
when the parking brake is f ully
released with the engine running
(see page ).60

To open the console compartment,
pull up on the right lever and lif t the
armrest.You can put small items in the tray
located in the console compartment
lid. To use the tray, pull up on the
lef t lever and lif t up the armrest.To use the console lid as an armrest,
slide it to the desired position.
To close, lower the armrest, and
push it down until it latches. The tray in the console compartment
has a coin holder. Make sure your passengers’ hands
and f ingers are away f rom the
armrest bef ore moving it.

Be caref ul when you are using the
beverage holders. A spilled liquid
that is very hot can scald you or your
passengers. Spilled liquids can also
damage the upholstery, carpeting,
and electrical components in the
interior.
To use the f ront beverage holder,
push on the lid. The beverage holder
lid is spring-loaded and will swing
open. To close it, push it down until it
latches.
The rear seat also has a beverage
holder in the center armrest. To use
it, pivot the armrest down.

To open the utility pocket, push on
the bottom of the lid. The lid will
swing open automatically.
To close it, push the lid down until it
latches.
The compartment cannot be used as
an ashtray.
To open the center CD pocket, push
down on the bottom of the lid to
unlatch it. It will swing open
automatically.
To close it, push the lid down until it
latches.

rod f rom the clip and swing the sun

may not f it in the holder.
To open the sunglasses holder, push
on the f ront edge. It will unlatch and
swing down. To close it, push it until
it latches. Make sure the holder is
closed while you are driving. You may also store small items in
thisholder.Makesuretheyare
small enough to let the holder close
and latch, and that they are not
heavy enough to cause the holder to
pop open while driving.There are two accessory power
sockets. One is in the f ront of the
center console under the utility
pocket lid. The other is in the center
console compartment. To use an
accessory power socket, the ignition
switch must be in the ACCESSORY
(I) or ON (II) position.
