MAIN SWITCH
Functions of the respective switch positions
are as follows:
ON:
The engine can be started only at this position.
OFF:
All electrical circuits are switched off.
Main switch indicator light
The main switch 1 is equipped with an indica-
tor light 2 to avoid forgetting to turn it off. This
light functions as follows.
It lights up with the main switch “ON”.
It goes out when the engine increases its
speed after being started.
It lights up again when the engine is stopped.
NOTE:
If the indicator light will not light up with the
main switch “ON”, it shows a lack of the battery
voltage. Recharge the battery. If the engine is
kick started, turn off the light switch.

“ENGINE STOP” BUTTON
The “ENGINE STOP” button 1 is located on
the left handlebar. Continue pushing the
“ENGINE STOP” button till the engine comes
to a stop.
START SWITCH
The start switch 1 is located on the right han-
dlebar. Push this switch to crank the engine
with the starter.

Die Funktionen der einzelnen
Schalterpositionen sind wie folgt:
ON:
Der Motor kann nur in dieser Position
gestartet werden.
OFF:
Alle elektrischen Schaltkreise sind
deaktiviert.
Zündschalter-Anzeigeleuchte
Der Zündschalter 1 ist mit einer
Anzeigeleuchte 2 ausgestattet, um
versehentliches Vergessen des Aus-
schaltens zu verhindern. Diese
Leuchtet arbeitet wie folgt.
Sie leuchtet auf, wenn der Zünd-
schalter auf “ON” steht.
Sie erlischt, wenn die Motordreh-
zahl nach dem Starten zunimmt.
Es leuchtet erneut auf, wenn der
Motor gestoppt wird.
HINWEIS:
Wenn die Anzeige nicht aufleuchtet,
wenn der Zündschalter auf “ON”
steht, weist dies auf mangelnde Bat-
teriespannung hin. Die Batterie neu
aufladen. Wenn der Motor mit Kick-
starter gestartet wird, den Lichtschal-
ter ausschalten.
MOTORSTOPPSCHALTER “ENGI-
NE STOP”
Der Motorstoppschalter “ENGINE
STOP” 1 befindet sich auf der linken
Seite des Lenkers.
Den Motorstoppschalter “ENGINE
STOP” gedrückt halten, bis der
Motor abstirbt.
STARTSCHALTER
Der Startschalter 1 befindet sich am
rechten Lenkergriff. Diesen Schalter
drücken, um den Motor mit dem
Starter zu kurbeln.

COUPE-CIRCUIT DU MOTEUR
Les fonctions des différentes positions
du coupe-circuit sont les suivantes :
ON:
Le moteur ne peut être mis en marche
que lorsque le coupe-circuit est à cette
position.
OFF:
Tous les circuits électriques sont coupés.
Témoin de coupe-circuit du moteur
Le coupe-circuit du moteur 1 est muni
d’un témoin 2 rappelant qu’il est activé.
Ce témoin fonctionne de la façon sui-
vante.
Il s’allume lorsque le coupe-circuit est
en position “ON” .
Il s’éteint lorsque la vitesse du moteur
augmente après le démarrage.
Il s’allume lorsque le moteur est
arrêté.
N.B.:
Si le témoin ne s’allume pas lorsque le
coupe-circuit du moteur est en position
de “ON”, c’est que la batterie est faible
et doit être rechargée. Si la pédale est uti-
lisée pour mettre le moteur en marche, il
faut éteindre le témoin.
BOUTON D’ARRET DE MOTEUR
“ENGINE STOP”
Ce bouton d’arrêt de moteur “ENGINE
STOP” 1 est situé sur le guidon gauche.
Continuer à appuyer sur le bouton d’arrêt
de moteur “ENGINE STOP” jusqu’a que
ce le moteur s’arrête.
COMMUTATEUR DE DEMAR-
RAGE
Le commutateur de démarrage 1 se
trouve sur la manette droite du guidon.
Appuyer sur ce commutateur pour mettre
le moteur en marche avec le démarreur.

INTERRUPTOR PRINCIPAL
Las funciones de las respectivas posicio-
nes del interruptor son como se indica a
continuación:
ON:
El motor solamente puede ser arrancado
en esta posición.
OFF:
Todos los circuitos eléctricos están des-
activados.
Luz indicadora del interruptor princi-
pal
El interruptor principal 1 tiene una luz
indicadora 2 incorporada para evitar
que se olvide de desactivarlo. Esta luz
funciona de la siguiente forma.
Se enciende con el interruptor princi-
pal puesto en “ON”.
Se apaga cuando el motor aumenta su
velocidad después de haberlo arran-
cado.
Se vuelve a encender cuando se para el
motor.
NOTA:
Si la luz indicadora no se enciende con el
interruptor principal en la posición
“ON”, muestra una falta de voltaje en la
batería. Cargue la batería. Si arranca el
motor con el arrancador de pedal, desac-
tive el interruptor de las luces.
BOTÓN DE PARADA DEL MOTOR
“ENGINE STOP”
El botón de parada del motor “ENGINE
STOP” 1 está situado en el manillar
izquierdo. Pulse de forma continuada
este botón hasta que se detenga el motor.
INTERRUPTOR DE ARRANQUE
El interruptor de arranque 1 está en la
parte derecha del manillar. Presione este
interruptor para arrancar el motor con el
arrancador eléctrico.

CLUTCH LEVER
The clutch lever 1 is located on the left han-
dlebar; it disengages or engages the clutch.
Pull the clutch lever to the handlebar to disen-
gage the clutch, and release the lever to
engage the clutch. The lever should be pulled
rapidly and released slowly for smooth starts.

SHIFT PEDAL
The gear ratios of the constant-mesh 5 speed
transmission are ideally spaced. The gears
can be shifted by using the shift pedal 1 on
the left side of the engine.

KICKSTARTER
Rotate the kickstarter 1 away from the
engine. Push the starter down lightly with your
foot until the gears engage, then kick smoothly
and forcefully to start the engine. This model
has a primary kickstarter so the engine can be
started in any gear if the clutch is disengaged.
In normal practices, however, shift to neutral
before starting.

The throttle grip 1 is located on the right han-
dlebar; it accelerates or decelerates the
engine. For acceleration, turn the grip toward
you; for deceleration, turn it away from you.

The front brake lever 1 is located on the right
handlebar. Pull it toward the handlebar to acti-
vate the front brake.

KUPPLUNGSHEBEL
Der Kupplungshebel 1 befindet sich
auf der linken Seite des Lenkers und
dient zum Ein- und Auskuppeln. Zum
Ausrücken der Kupplung den Kupp-
lungshebel zum Lenkgriff ziehen; zum
Einrücken der Kupplung den Kupp-
lungshebel wieder freigeben. Zum
Auskuppeln den Kupplungshebel
zügig ziehen, beim Einkuppeln gefühl-
voll loslassen, um ein weiches Einrük-
ken der Kupplung zu gewährleisten.
FUSSSCHALTHEBEL
Erst das Getriebe erlaubt die Nut-
zung der Motorleistung in verschie-
denen Geschwindigkeitsbereichen,
so daß Anfahren, Bergauffahren und
schnelles Beschleunigen möglich
sind. Die Gänge dieses 5-Gang-
Getriebes werden über den Fuß-
schalthebel 1 linksseitig des Motors
bei ausgerückter Kupplung geschal-
tet.
KICKSTARTER
Zum Anlassen des Motors den Kick-
starterhebel 1 ausschwenken und
langsam niedertreten, bis deutlicher
Widerstand spürbar wird; dann den
Kickstarterhebel schwungvoll durch-
treten. Dieses Modell ist mit einem
Primärkickstarter ausgerüstet, d. h.
der Motor kann auch bei eingelegtem
Gang angelassen werden – voraus-
gesetzt, daß die Kupplung ausge-
rückt ist. Normalerweise sollte
jedoch in den Leerlauf geschaltet
werden, bevor der Motor gestartet
wird.
GASDREHGRIFF
Der Gasdrehgriff 1 befindet sich auf
der rechten Seite des Lenkers. Zum
Erhöhen der Motordrehzahl
(Beschleunigung) den Gasdrehgriff
in Gegenfahrtrichtung drehen, zum
Reduzieren der Motordrehzahl den
Gasdrehgriff in Fahrtrichtung drehen.
HANDBREMSHEBEL
Der Handbremshebel 1 zur Betäti-
gung der Vorderradbremse befindet
sich auf der rechten Seite des Len-
kers. LEVIER D’EMBRAYAGE
Le levier d’embrayage 1 est situé sur le
guidon gauche et permet d’embrayer ou
de débrayer. Tirer le levier d’embrayage
vers le guidon pour débrayer et relâcher
le levier pour embrayer. Pour des démar-
rages doux, le levier doit être tiré rapide-
ment et relâché lentement.
PEDALE DE CHANGEMENT DE
VITESSE
Les 5 rapports de la boîte de vitesses à
prise constante sont idéalement échelon-
nés. Le changement de vitesse est com-
mandé par le sélecteur à pédale 1 situé
du côté gauche du moteur.
DEMARREUR AU PIED
Déployer la pédale de démarreur au pied
1. Appuyer légèrement sur la pédale
jusqu’à ce que les pignons se mettent en
prise puis l’actionner vigoureusement
pour démarrer le moteur. Ce modèle est
muni d’un démarreur au pied primaire,
de sorte qu’on peut démarrer sur
n’importe quelle vitesse à condition de
débrayer. Toutefois, normalement, on
remettra les vitesses au point mort avant
la mise en marche.
POIGNEE DES GAZ
La poignée des gaz 1 est située sur le
guidon droit; elle permet d’accélérer ou
de décélérer le moteur. Pour une accélé-
ration, tourner la poignée vers soi; pour
une décélération, la tourner de l’autre
côté.
LEVIER DE FREIN AVANT
Le levier de frein avant 1 se trouve sur
le guidon droit. Le tirer vers le guidon
pour actionner le frein avant.PALANCA DEL EMBRAGUE

ARRANCADOR DE PEDAL

hasta embragar las marchas y, a conti-
nuación, pedalee firme y uniformemente
para arrancar el motor. Este modelo
consta de un arrancador de pedal prima-
rio de forma que pueda arrancar el motor
en cualquiera de las marchas si el embra-
gue está desembragado. No obstante, en
condiciones normales, cambie a la posi-
ción de punto muerto antes de arrancar.
EMPUÑADURA DEL ACELERA-
DOR
La empuñadura del acelerador 1 está
situada en el manillar derecho; su fun-
ción es la de acelerar o decelerar el
motor. Para acelerar, gire la empuñadura
hacia usted; para decelerar, gírela hacia
el lado contrario.
PALANCA DEL FRENO DELAN-
TERO
La palanca del freno delantero 1 está
situada en el manillar derecho. Tire de la
palanca hacia el manillar para accionar
el freno delantero.

REAR BRAKE PEDAL
The rear brake pedal 1 is located on the right
side of the machine. Press down on the brake
pedal to activate the rear brake.
FUEL COCK
The fuel cock supplies fuel from the tank to
carburetor and also filters the fuel. The fuel
cock has three positions:
OFF:With the lever in this position fuel will not
flow. Always return the lever to this posi-
tion when the engine is not running.
ON: With the lever in this position fuel flows to
the carburetor. Normal riding is done with
the lever in this position.
RES:With the lever in this position fuel flows to
the carburetor from the reserve section of
the fuel tank after the main supply of the
fuel has been depleted. Normal riding is
possible with the lever is in this position,
but it is recommended to add fuel as
soon as possible.
COLD STARTER KNOB
When cold, the engine requires a richer air-fuel
mixture for starting. A separate starter circuit,
which is controlled by the cold starter knob 1,
supplies this mixture. Pull the cold starter knob
out to open the circuit for starting. When the
engine has warmed up, push it in to close the
circuit.
HOT STARTER LEVER
The hot starter lever 1 is used when starting a
warm engine.
Use the hot starter lever when starting the
engine again immediately after it was stopped
(the engine is still warm). Pulling the hot starter
lever injects secondary air to thin the air-fuel
mixture temporarily, allowing the engine to be
started more easily.

KRAFTSTOFFHAHN
Der Kraftstoffhahn leitet den Kraft-
stoff vom Tank zum Vergaser und fil-
tert ihn gleichzeitig. Die einzelnen
Kraftstoffhahnstellungen sind nach-
folgend beschrieben.
OFF: Der Kraftstoffhahn ist
geschlossen und die Kraft-
stoffzufuhr unterbrochen. Den
Kraftstoffhahn nach Abstellen
des Motors auf “OFF” stellen.
ON: Diese Stellung ist für den Nor-
malbetrieb: der laufende Motor
wird mit Kraftstoff versorgt.
Den Kraftstoffhahn vor Fahrt-
antritt auf “ON” stellen.
RES: Geht während der Fahrt der
Kraftstoff aus, den Kraftstoff-
hahn auf “RES” (Reserve)
stellen, um den Motor mit dem
Reservekraftstoff zu versor-
gen. Bei nächster Gelegenheit
tanken. Nach dem Tanken
den Kraftstoffhahn wieder auf
“ON” stellen.
KALTSTARTERKNOPF
Ein kalter Motor benötigt zum Starten
ein fetteres Luft-Kraftstoff-Gemisch.
Eine spezielle Startvorrichtung, die
über den Kaltstarterknopf 1 aktiviert
wird, liefert dieses Gemisch. Den
Kaltstarterknopf zum Starten heraus-
ziehen und nachdem der Motor
warmgelaufen ist wieder hineindrük-
ken.
HEISSTARTERHEBEL
Der Heißstarterhebel 1 dient zum
Starten mit heißem Motor.
Den Heißstarterhebel verwenden,
wenn der Motor kurz nach dem Aus-
schalten erneut gestartet wird (der
Motor ist noch warm). Bei ziehen des
Heißstarterhebels wird das Gemisch
durch vorübergehende Beimischung
von Sekundärluft verdünnt, wodurch
der Motor leichter anstartet. PEDALE DE FREIN ARRIERE

partie “réserve” du réservoir à
essence après que le réservoir
principal d’essence est vidé. Le
levier se trouvant dans cette
position, la conduite normale est
possible, mais il est alors recom-
mandé de faire le plein d’essence
dès que possible.
BOUTON DE DEMARRAGE A
FROID
Quand il est froid, le moteur a besoin
d’un mélange air-essence plus riche pour
le démarrage. Un circuit de démarrage
séparé, commandé par le bouton de de
démarrage à froid 1, fournit ce
mélange. Tirer le bouton de démarrage à
froid pour ouvrir le circuit de démarrage.
Quand le moteur est chaud, pousser le
bouton la pour fermer le circuit.
LEVIER DE DEMARRAGE A
CHAUD
Le levier de démarrage à chaud 1 s’uti-
lise lors de la mise en marche d’un
moteur chaud.
Recourir au levier de démarrage à chaud
pour mettre le moteur en marche immé-
diatement après l’avoir éteint (le moteur
est encore chaud). Quand le levier de
démarrage à chaud est tiré, de l’air
secondaire pénètre dans le moteur et
appauvrit momentanément le mélange
air-essence afin de faciliter sa mise en
marche.PALANCA DEL FRENO TRASERO

GRIFO DE COMBUSTIBLE
El grifo de combustible suministra com-

ble. Coloque siempre la palanca
en esta posición cuando no esté

ON: Cuando la palanca esté en esta
posición, el combustible fluirá al
carburador. El vehículo se maneja
con la palanca en esta posición.
RES: Cuando la palanca esté en esta
posición, el combustible fluirá al
carburador desde la sección de
reserva del depósito de combus-
tible, después de haberse agotado
el suministro principal de com-
bustible. Se puede manejar el
vehículo con la palanca en esta
posición, pero es recomendable
añadir combustible en cuanto sea
posible.
POMO DE ARRANQUE EN FRÍO
Cuando el motor esté frío, será necesaria
una mezcla de aire y combustible más
rica para efectuar el arranque. Un cir-
cuito de arranque separado, controlado
por el pomo de arranque en frío 1,
suministra dicha mezcla. Tire hacia fuera
del pomo de arranque en frío para abrir
el circuito y arrancar el motor. Cuando el
motor se haya calentado, empuje el
pomo hacia adentro para cerrar el cir-
cuito.
PALANCA DE ARRANQUE EN
CALIENTE
La palanca de arranque en caliente 1 es
para arrancar un motor ya calentado.
Utilice la palanca de arranque en caliente
cuando quiera arrancar nuevamente el
motor inmediatamente después de
haberlo parado (cuando el motor todavía
esté caliente). Accione la palanca de
arranque en caliente para introducir
momentáneamente más aire a la mezcla
de aire y combustible, permitiendo que
el motor arranque de forma más sencilla.

LIGHTS SWITCH
The lights switch 1 is located on the handle-
bar.

VALVE JOINT
This valve joint 1 prevents fuel from flowing
out and is installed to the fuel tank breather
hose.
CAUTION:
In this installation, make sure the arrow
faces the fuel tank and also downward.
SPARK PLUG WRENCH
This spark plug wrench 1 is used to remove
and install the spark plug.

This nipple wrench 1 is used to tighten the
