(a) Remove the console box plate.
(b) Remove the 2 screws, 3 bolts and rear console box, then
disconnect the connector.

REMOVE CONSOLE BOX HOLE COVER
Using a screwdriver, remove the console box hole cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
22. Floor shift:
REMOVE RADIO ASSEMBLY WITH HEATER CON-
TROL ASSEMBLY
(a) Except TAIWAN:
Remove the 4 bolts and radio assembly with heater con-
trol assembly, then disconnect the connectors.
(b) TAIWAN:
Using a screwdriver, remove the center cluster finish pan-
el.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) TAIWAN:
Remove the 4 bolts and opening covers with heater con-
trol assembly, then disconnect the connectors.
23. Floor shift:
REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX
(a) Remove the 6 screws.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the front console box.

REMOVE LOWER COVER
Using a screwdriver, remove the lower cover.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

REMOVE FINISH PANEL
(a) Remove the 4 screws and 2 clips.
(b) Using a screwdriver, remove the finish panel, then discon-
nect the connector.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(c) Remove the 4 screws and front ash receptacle.
26. Column shift:
REMOVE RADIO ASSEMBLY WITH HEATER CON-
TROL ASSEMBLY
Remove the 4 bolts and radio assembly with heater control as-
sembly.
27. REMOVE SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the speaker opening cover
assembly, then disconnect the connector.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Employ the same manner described above to the other
side.
28. REMOVE UPPER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the upper cluster finish panel.

(a) Remove the 2 bolts from the passenger airbag assembly.

(b) Remove the 6 bolts and nut.
(c) Disconnect the connectors.
(d) Remove the bolts and ground terminals.
(e) Remove the instrument panel safety pad.

REPLACEMENT
1. Except TAIWAN:
IF NECESSARY, REMOVE MIRROR
(a) Press the inboard end of the mirror inward to access the
back of the mirror.
(b) Reach fingers behind mirror and unlatch both ends of the
wire retainer.
(c) Remove the mirror.
(d) w/ Heated mirrors:
Disconnect the heater wires.
NOTICE:
Be careful not to damage the wires on heated mirrors. Dis-
connect the wires from the back side of the heater.
2. Except TAIWAN:
INSTALL MIRROR
(a) w/ Heated mirrors:
Connect the heater wires.
(b) Completely install the wire retainer to the mirror.
(c) Carefully align the 2 alignment tabs to the slots on the mo-
tor.
(d) Press the mirror firmly into place to engage all 6 lugs of
the wire retainer.
(e) Press on glass with open palm and rock the mirror
through its full range of motion to engage all 6 lugs only
low forces will be required.
NOTICE:
Confirm that all 6 wire retainer lugs are completely en-
gaged to the mirror housing by gently pulling on the mirror
edges.
(f) Confirm mirror operation through full range of motion.
3. TAIWAN:
IF NECESSARY, REMOVE MIRROR
(a) Insert a shop rag between the mirror and the mirror body.
(b) Pull up the lower side of the shop rag to disconnect the
mirror joint.

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL BRAKE BOOSTER
(a) Install the booster and a new gasket.
(b) Install the clevis to the operating rod.
(c) Install and torque the booster installation nuts.
Torque: 13 N´m (130 kgf´cm, 9 ft´lbf)
(d) Install the clevis pin into the clevis and brake pedal, and
install the clip to the clevis pin.
(e) Install the pedal return spring.
2. ADJUST LENGTH OF BOOSTER PUSH ROD
(a) Set the SST on the master cylinder, and lower the pin until
its tip slightly touches the piston.

(b) Turn the SST upside down, and set it on the booster.

(c) Measure the clearance between the booster push rod
and pin head (SST).
Clearance: 0 mm (0 in.)
(d) Using SST, adjust the booster push rod length until the
push rod lightly touches the pin head.
