INSTALLATION
1. w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:
INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG
In order shown in the illustration, install the deployment section
of the curtain shield airbag with the bolts and grommet.
Torque: 9.8 N·m (100 kgf·cm, 7 ift·lbf)
2. INSTALL ROOF HEAD LINING
Install the 5 clips and roof headlining.
3. INSTALL THESE PARTS:
(a) w/ Sliding Roof:
Install the sliding roof opening trim.
(b) Install the room light.
(c) Install the sun visors and holders.
(d) Install the assist grips.
4. INSTALL ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH
Install the roof side inner garnish with the bolt and screw.
5. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD
(a) Install the deck trim side board with the clip.
(b) Install the rear seat outer belt floor anchor bolt.
Torque: 42 N·m (430 kgf·cm, 31 ft·lbf)
6. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM COVER
Install the deck side trim cover.

7. INSTALL REAR SIDE SEATBACK
Install rear side seatback with the bolt.
Torque: 21 N·m (214 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf)
8. INSTALL REAR ROOM PARTITION NET HOOK
Install the hook with the screw.
9. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
Install the rear floor finish plate.
10. INSTALL THESE PARTS:
(a) w/ Room Partition Net:
Install the room partition net.
(b) w/ Tonneau Cover:
Install the tonneau cover.
(c) Install the rear seatback assembly.
Torque: 21 N·m (214 kgf·cm, 15 ft·lbf)
(d) Install the rear floor carpet.
11. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH
(a) Install the center pillar upper garnish with the screw.
(b) Install the front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.
Torque: 42 N·m (430 kgf·cm, 31 ft·lbf)
12. INSTALL THESE PARTS:
(a) Install the center pillar lower garnishes.
(b) Install the rear door scuff plates.
(c) Install the rear door opening trims.
(d) Install the front door scuff plates.
(e) w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:
(1) Remove the protection cover.
(2) Install the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5 N·m (51 kgf·cm, 44 in.·lbf)
(3) Install the front pillar garnish.
(4) Install the pillar garnish cover and bolt.
NOTICE:
Be sure to tighten the bolt.
(5) Fell the pillar garnish cover.
(f) Install the front pillar garnishes.
(g) Install the front door opening trims.

INSTALLATION
INSTALL DRIVE BELT
(a) Tighten the idle pulley lock nut temporarily.
Torque: 2.5 N·m (25 kgf·cm, 22 in.·lbf)
(b) Install the drive belt.
(c) Using a adjusting bolt, adjust drive belt tension.
Drive belt tension:
New belt: 520 – 755 N (53 – 77 kgf)
Used belt: 196 – 392 N (20 – 40 kgf)
(d) Tighten the idle pulley lock nut at regular torque.
Torque: 39 N·m (390 kgf·cm, 29 ft·lbf)

1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM
2. REPLACE FAULTY TUBE OR HOSE
NOTICE:
Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
3. TIGHTEN JOINT OF BOLT OR NUT AT SPECIFIED TORQUE
NOTICE:
Connections should not be torqued tighter than the specified torque.

INSPECTION
1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE GLOW PLUGS
(a) Remove the glow plug cap.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts.
(c) Remove the glow plug plate.
(d) Remove the glow plug stay.
(e) Remove the 3 glow plugs.
4. INSPECT GLOW PLUGS
Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the
glow plug terminal and ground.
Standard resistance at 20C (68F):
Approx. 0.22 Ω
If there is continuity, replace the glow plug.
Torque: 13 N·m (130 kgf·cm, 9 ft·lbf)
5. REINSTALL GLOW PLUGS
(a) Install the 3 glow plugs.
(b) Install the glow plug stay.
(c) Install the glow plug plate.
(d) Install the 3 bolts.
(e) Install the glow plug cap.
6. REINSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL COMPRESSOR
(a) Install the compressor with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 25 N·m (250 kgf·cm, 18 ft·lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.
2. CONNECT DISCHARGE AND SUCTION HOSES
Connect the both hoses with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10 N·m (100 kgf·cm, 7 ft·lbf)
CAUTION:
Hoses should be connected immediately after the caps
have removed.
HINT:
Lubricate 2 new O–rings with compressor oil and install the
hoses.
3. INSTALL RESERVOIR TANK
(a) Connect the reservoir tank with the 2 bolts.
(b) Connect the lower hose.
(c) Install the upper hose.
4. REFILL ENGINE COOLANT
5. INSTALL AND CHECK DRIVE BELT
(See page AC–3)
6. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
7. CONNECT NEGATIVE (–) TERMINAL CABLE TO BAT-
TERY
8. EVACUATE AIR IN REFRIGERATION SYSTEM AND
CHARGE WITH REFRIGERANT
Specified amount: 450 50 g (15.87 1.76 oz.)
9. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT
Using a gas leak detector, check the tightening torque at the
joints.
10. INSPECT A/C OPERATION
