NOTE
If ultrasound sensors cannot detect an
object correctly, the system may not
operate normally.
Refer to Ultrasonic Sensors on page 5-135.
The screen display can be switched between display and non-display and the
volume of the warning sound can be changed.
Refer to the Settings section in the Mazda Connect Owner's Manual.
(Vehicles with 360° View Monitor)
When the screen display is set to be displayed, the display automatically switches
to the 360° View Monitor display when the sensor detects an obstruction. When
an obstruction is no longer detected, the display switches to the display before the
obstruction was detected. However, when the 360° View Monitor is displayed in
advance, it continues to be displayed no matter if an obstruction is detected or
not.

If an obstruction in the same detection range is detected continuously for 6
seconds or longer, only the warning sound stops (excluding the closest detection
range). When the detection range changes to the close side, the warning sound
resumes.
Tu r n i n g off the parking sensors
The parking sensors turn off and the parking sensor OFF switch indicator light turns
on.
If the switch is pressed again, the pa

The display indicates whether
recirculate mode (
) or fresh air
mode (
) is selected.
WARNING
Do not recirculate the air in the cabin
during cold or rainy weather.
Recirculating the air in the cabin during
cold and rainy weather is dangerous as
it will cause the windows to fog up.
Your vision will be hampered, which
could lead to a serious accident.
Recirculate mode (
)
Outside air is shut off. Air within the
vehicle is recirculated. Use this
position when going through tunnels,
driving in congested traffic (high engine
exhaust areas) or when quick cooling is
desired.
Fresh air mode (
)
Outside air is allowed to enter the
cabin.
Use this mode for ventilation or
windshield defrosting.
NOTE
The recirculated air position is the
default position whenever the
ignition is switched ON, the climate
control system is on, and the outside
temperature exceeds about 73 °F
(23 ℃).
To exit the default recirculated air
position, press the air intake selector
switch to select the outside air
position.
When the air intake selector switch is
set to the outside air position and
the outside temperature exceeds
about 73 °F (23 ℃), the climate
control system may automatically
select the recirculated air position to
improve the efficiency of the climate
control system.
Mode selector switch
The desired airflow mode can be
selected.
The mode changes each time the
switch is pressed. The selected mode is
indicated on the display.

WARNING
Do not lower the airflow temperature
when defrosting the windshield.
Otherwise, the outer side of the
windshield will frost causing reduced
visibility which may lead to an
accident.
NOTE
For faster defrosting , do any of the
following operations.
Operate the fan switch and
increase the airflow amount.
Press the temperature setting
switch to increase the airflow
temperature.

Convenient Ways to Usethe Fully AutomaticClimate Control
Cabin Preconditioning
Cabin preconditioning is a collective
term regarding use of the climate
control timer and the remote climate
control.
While the climate control timer or the
remote climate control is operating ,
you can check the setting status on
your Smartphone.
Climate Control Timer
By setting the departure time using
Mazda Connect, the climate control
system operates and adjusts the cabin
temperature by the departure time.
The departure time, day, set
temperature, and defroster operation/
non-operation can be personalized,
and 7 types of patterns can be
programmed in advance.
Remote Climate Control
Using your Smartphone, you can turn
on the climate control system remotely
before departing.
WARNING
Do not operate the cabin
preconditioning with people or pets
in the vehicle.
The cabin preconditioning may stop
automatically due to the vehicle
conditions and the surrounding
environment. If the climate control
system stops and the temperature
inside the vehicle increases or
decreases, it could cause a serious
medical condition such as heat
exhaustion and dehydration.
CAUTION
If any of the following conditions is
met, the cabin preconditioning will
not operate. In addition, if the cabin
preconditioning is operating, it will
stop. However, if the liftgate is
opened while the cabin
preconditioning is operating, the
cabin preconditioning will not stop.
When the cabin preconditioning
does not operate or stops, the cabin
preconditioning cancel display is
indicated on the display.
The high voltage battery or the
lead-acid battery charge is low
The doors/liftgate are open
The vehicle power is switched to a
position other than OFF
There is a problem with the vehicle
If any of the following conditions is
met, the climate control system will
not operate effectively and the cabin
temperature may not reach the set
temperature.
Your power consumption is high
Extremely high or low
temperatures
The climate control system operates
so that it reaches the set temperature
at the departure time, and stops at
the departure time. The cabin
temperature may not reach the set
temperature if you get in the vehicle
earlier or later than the set departure
time.
If you operate the cabin
preconditioning while charging the
vehicle, it could take more time to
charge the battery. In addition, when
it is extremely hot or cold, the power
consumption of the climate control
system is high, therefore the charge
amount may be less than the preset
charge amount.
