⬛When the outside air temperature drops to around 0°C (32℉)
Even if you press , the air conditioning system may not work.
⬛When driving on dusty roads
Close all windows. If dust thrown up by the vehicle is still drawn into the vehicle
after closing the windows, it is recomme nded that the air intake mode be set
to outside air mode and the fan speed to any setting except off.
⬛Outside/recirculated air mode
Setting to the recirculated air mode temporarily is recommended in prevent-
ing dirty air from entering the vehicle interior and helping to cool the vehicle
when the outside air temperature is high.
⬛Ventilation and air conditioning odors
⚫To let fresh air in, set the air conditio ning system to the outside air introduc-
tion mode.
⚫During use, various odors from inside and outside the vehicle may enter into
and accumulate in the air conditioning system. This may then cause odors to
be emitted from the vents.
⚫To reduce potential odors from occurri ng, it is recommended that the air
conditioning system be set to outside air introduction mode prior to turning
the vehicle off.

⬛Using the air conditioning system for cooling
In rare cases, it may appear that fog is blowing out of the air outlet, but this is
normal when moist air is suddenly cooled.
⬛Fogging up of the windows
⚫The windows will easily fog up when th e humidity in the vehicle is high.
Turning on will flow the dehumi dified air from the outlets and
defog the windshield effectively.
⚫If you turn off, the windows may fog up more easily.
⚫The windows may fog up if the re circulated air mode is used.
⬛When the air outlets are set to
In order to deliver cool air to the f ace and warm air to the feet, depending on
the position of the temperature control lever, the air sent to the feet will be
warmer than the air sent to the upper body.
⬛When the outside air temperature drops to around 0°C
Even if you press , the air conditioning system may not work.

This mark is intended to recommend that you set the inside/outside air switch-
ing lever to when setting the air outlet switching dial to or .
By setting the inside/outside air swit ching lever to , the windshield and win-
dows are less likely to fog.

WARNING
⬛To prevent the windshield from fogging up
⚫Do not set the air outlet switching dial to the or position when set-
ting the temperature of the air conditioning system low in extremely humid
weather. The difference between the te mperature of the outside air and that
of the windshield can cause the outer surface of the windshield to fog up,
blocking your vision.
⚫Do not place anything on the
instrument panel which may cover
the air outlets. Otherwise, air flow
may be obstructed, preventing the
windshield defoggers from defog-
ging.

6-1. Maintenance and care
Cleaning and protecting the vehicle exterior
Perform the following to clean and protect the vehicle:
⚫Working from top to bottom, liberally apply water to the vehicle body,
wheel wells and underside of the vehicle to remove any dirt and dust
⚫Wash the vehicle body using a sponge or soft cloth, such as a chamois
⚫When heavily soiled, use car wash so ap and rinse thoroughly with water
⚫Wipe away any water
⚫Wax the vehicle when the water repellency deteriorates
If water does not bead on a clean surface even after removing the dirt on body sur-
face, apply wax when the vehicle body is cooled down (when it becomes approxi-
mately below the body temperature)
Handling of the pole antenna✽
The antenna can be removed or retracted when washing the vehicle.
a Remove
b Attach
c Fold
To listen to the radio, pull out the
antenna as is appropriate.
⬛Automatic car washes
⚫Fold the outside rear view mirrors before a car wash.
Start washing from the front of the vehi cle. Make sure to extend the outside
rear view mirrors before driving.
⚫Brushes used in automatic car washes may scratch the vehicle surface and
harm your vehicle’s paint.
⚫Depending on the car wash, the vehic le gets scratched or damaged, or it
may not be possible to wash the car, as the rear spoiler gets stuck.
⬛High pressure car washes
As water may enter the cabin, do not bring the nozzle tip near the gaps around
the doors or perimeter of the windows, or spray these areas continuously.

Scheduled maintenance
Perform maintenance by the schedule as follows:Maintenance schedule requirements
Your vehicle needs to be serviced in according to the normal maintenance
schedule. (See “Maintenance schedule”.)
If you mainly operate your vehicle under one or more of the special oper-
ating conditions below, some of th e maintenance schedule items need to
be serviced more frequently in order to keep your vehicle in good condi-
tion. (See “Additional maintenance schedule”.)
⬛Road Condition
⚫Operating on rough or muddy roads, or roads with melted snow
⚫Operating on dusty roads (Roads in areas where their pavement rate is
low, or a cloud of dust often arises and the air is dry.)
⬛Driving Condition
⚫Heavily loaded vehicle (Example: Using a car top carrier, etc.)
⚫Repeated short trips less than 8 km (5 miles) and outside temperatures
remain below freezing (Engine temp erature will not reach to normal
temperature)
⚫Extensive idling and/or low speed dr iving for a long distance such as
police, taxi or door-to-door delivery use
⚫Continuous high speed driving (80% or more of maximum vehicle
speed) for over 2 hours
