Maintenance and care
4Pull out the glove box and dis-
connect the lower claws.
5 Unlock the filter cover ( ), pull
the filter cover out of the claws
( ), and remove the filter
cover.
6 Remove the filter.
7 Replace the air conditioning fil-
ter with a new one.
The “ UP” marks shown on the filter
and the filter case should be pointing
up.
■Checking interval
Inspect and replace the air conditioning filter according to the maintenance schedule. In dusty areas or areas with
heavy traffic flow, early replacement may be required. (For scheduled main-tenance information, please refer to the
“Toyota Service Booklet” or “Toyota War- ranty Booklet”.)
■If air flow from the vents decreases dramatically
The filter may be clogged. Check the fil- ter and replace if necessary.
NOTICE
■When using the air conditioning system
Make sure that a filter is always
installed. Using the air conditioning system without a filter may cause damage to
the system.

■If the key battery is depleted
The following symptoms may occur:
●The smart entry & start system (if equipped) and wireless remote control will not function properly.
●The operational range will be reduced.

■To prevent damage to the filter cover
When moving the filter cover in the direction of arrow to release the fit-ting, pay attention not to apply exces-
sive force to the claws. Otherwise, the claws may be damaged.

Indicates that the engine oil should be
scheduled to be changed.
Check the engine oil and change it if necessary.
After changing the engine oil, make sure to reset the message. ( P.356)
■If “Oil Maintenance Required Visit Your Dealer” is displayed
Indicates that the engine oil should be changed.
Check and change the engine oil, and
oil filter by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any reli-able repairer. After changing the engine
oil, make sure to reset the message. ( P.356)
■If “Radar Cruise Control Temporar- ily Unavailable See Owner’s Man-
ual” is displayed (if equipped)
The dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range system or the dynamic
radar cruise control system is sus- pended temporarily or until the problem shown in the message is resolved.

■If “Radar Cruise Control Unavail-
able” is displayed (if equipped)
The dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range system or the dynamic
radar cruise control system cannot be used temporarily. Use the system when it becomes available again.
■If a message that indicates the
need for visiting your Toyota dealer is displayed
The system or part shown on the multi-
information display is malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota
authorized repairer, or any reliable repairer immediately.
■If a message that indicates the need for referring to Owner’s Man-
ual is displayed
●If “Engine Coolant Temp High Stop in
a Safe Place See Owner’s Manual” is displayed, follow the instructions accordingly. ( P.442)
●If “Transmission Oil Temp. High Stop in a Safe Place and See Owner’s
Manual” is displayed, follow the instructions accordingly. ( P.179)
●If “Exhaust Filter Full See Owner’s Manual” is displayed, follow the instructions accordingly. ( P.300)
