Uncouple the coupled trailer and secure it against rolling away. 
If the ball neck has been retracted: initiat e a new swivel movement ( page 304).
The ball neck will engage vertically in the locked position and then engage beneath the bumper. 
If the ball neck has been extended: initiat
e a new swivel movement ( page 304).
The ball neck will engage beneath the bumper.
If the display message does not disappear, the trailer hitch is malfunctioning and the ball neck is not locked. 
Do not couple up the trailer. Drive on without the trailer. Note the reduced ground clearance due to the unlocked

Combustion engines emit poisonous exhaust gases, such as carbon monoxide. Exhaust gases can enter the vehi-

erior if the tailgate is open when the engine is running, especially if the vehicle is in motion.

Never drive with the tailgate open. 
Close the tailgate.

Make sure that the air supply to the radiator is not obstructed. 
Avoiding high loads on the engine, drive to the nearest q ualiNed specialist workshop. In doing so, ensure that the
coolant temperature display remains below 120°C.
