The following information will be displayed in the
driver information system, if available:
@ Current vehicle position
@A bar graph appears when there is an upcom-
ing turn. The fewer the bars that are shown, the
shorter the distance is until the turn. If there is
no upcoming turn immediately ahead, the dis-
tance to the destination or stopover, the calculat-
ed arrival time, and a direction arrow for the up-
coming maneuver will be displayed in the right
speedometer. If there is no upcoming maneuver,
the distance to the next maneuver will be dis-
played.

Opening alternative routes
Requirement: route guidance must be started

route.

The difference in travel time compared to the se-

You can access frequent destinations in the favor-
ites. You can quickly and easily start route guid-
ance using the home address or business address

Navigation

— 3D heading-up map: the current vehicle posi-
tion is shown on a three-dimensional map and
is aligned to the direction of travel.
— Overview: the entire route from the vehicle po-
sition to the destination or the next stopover is
displayed on the map. The map is oriented to
the north.
Automatic zoom
— On: the map scale is adapted automatically de-
pending on the type of road being traveled (ex-
pressway, highway, other roads) so that you al-
ways have an optimal overview of the road
ahead. When route guidance is active, the scale
is adjusted automatically for a better detailed
view when there are upcoming maneuvers.
— Intersection: when route guidance is active, the
scale is adjusted automatically for a better de-
tailed view when there are upcoming maneu-
vers.
— Off
MMI map contents/Map content: you can switch
the display of additional information (such as
POIs) on the map in the upper display on or off.
Voice guidance
Voice guidance: you can adjust the navigation
prompts. With the Traffic setting, the MMI will
only give prompts if there are traffic incidents on
your route.
Voice guidance during phone call
Entertainment fader during navigation: the au-
dio playback volume is temporarily lowered when
navigation prompts are active.
Route criteria
You can adjust which route criteria should be al-
lowed or avoided for the route calculation.

When this function is switched on and route
guidance is active, route information

neuver will be displayed at the bottom. POIs and
traffic information will also be displayed. Press

Presentation mode
In presentation mode, the system simulates driv-
ing on the display along the planned route with-
out the vehicle actually moving. You can use

calculate a route starting from a location other

Additional settings

Bluetooth

Bluetooth
You can select a setting for visibility of the MMI
to other Bluetooth devices. To connect a new
Bluetooth device, the Visible setting must be se-
lected. If Invisible is selected, a Bluetooth con-
nection will only be possible with paired devices.
If Off is selected, no Bluetooth device can be con-
nected.
Bluetooth audio player
When this function is switched on, the profile
will load automatically when your Bluetooth au-
dio player is within range.
Bluetooth name
The MMI’s Bluetooth name is displayed and can
be changed.
Factory default settings
Requirement: the ignition must be switched on.
> Applies to MMI: Select on the home screen:
SETTINGS > System maintenance > Restore
factory settings.
> Follow the system instructions.
The settings will be reset. The system will re-
start. This may take some time.
@ Tips
Make sure that not only the settings were de-
leted but also the stored data, if necessary.
Software update
Introduction
Applies to: vehicles with software update
You can update your vehicle’s software.
The functions depend on the country and vehicle
equipment:
— Update through the online system update
=> page 250.

— Map material update for the navigation system
=> page 224.
— Have the software update performed by an au-
thorized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service
Facility. This can result in additional costs.

ZA\ WARNING
— Perform the installation only when the vehi-
cle is stationary. Otherwise, this increases
the risk of an accident
— If the installation fails, contact an author-
ized Audi dealer or authorized Audi Service
Facility immediately to have the malfunction
corrected.
Online system update
Applies to: vehicles with online system update

With the online system update, you can update
the software directly in the vehicle.
Requirement: the MMI must be connected to the
Internet > page 208, Audi connect.
Downloading updates
Requirement: notification for an online system
update will appear in the upper display.
> Press on the notification, or
> Open the notification in the notification center
on > page 24 and press on the notification.
> Follow the system instructions.
You can also check manually if an update is avail-
able.
> Applies to: MMI: Select on the home screen:
SETTINGS > System maintenance > Software
update > Search for updates > desired update
> Continue.
> Follow the system instructions.
The
MMI will start the download. You can check
the status of the download process in the notifi-
cation center > page 24.
Installing updates
Requirement: an online system update must be
downloaded and a notification must be shown in
the upper display.
> Stop the vehicle safely.

the vehicle. Electrostatic discharge can oc-
cur while refueling and the fuel vapors
could ignite.
— When using fuel containers made of met-
al, the fuel pump nozzle must always re-
main in contact with the container to re-
duce the risk of static charge.
— Insert the fuel pump nozzle as far as pos-
sible into the filler opening while refuel-
ing.
— Follow the applicable legal regulations in
the country where you are driving when
using, storing and transporting fuel con-
tainers.
— Make sure that the fuel container meets
the industry standards, for example ANSI
or ASTM F852-86.

@) Note
— Remove fuel that has overflowed onto any
vehicle components immediately to reduce
the risk of damage to the vehicle.
— Never drive until the fuel tank is completely
empty. The irregular supply of fuel that re-
sults from that can cause engine misfires.
Uncombusted fuel may enter the exhaust
system and increase the risk of damage to
the catalytic converter.
@ For the sake of the environment
— Do not overfill the fuel tank, or fuel could
leak out when the vehicle is warming up.
— Fuel should never enter the sewer system or
come into contact with the ground.
@) Tips
The fuel filler door on your vehicle does not
lock if you lock the vehicle from the inside us-
ing the central locking switch.
@ Tips
Your vehicle is equipped with a misfueling
guard. It allows the vehicle to be fueled only
with
the correct fuel pump nozzle.
—Aworn or damaged nozzle or a nozzle that
is too small may not be able to open the die-
sel misfueling guard. If this is the case, try
turning the nozzle before inserting it in the
fuel filler neck, use a different fuel pump, or
see an authorized Audi dealer or authorized
Audi Service Facility for assistance.
—The misfueling guard does not open when
adding fuel from a fuel container. When re-
fueling with a reserve canister, you must use
the funnel stored in the luggage compart-
ment > page 257.
@) Tips
Applies to: vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive
- When inserting the fuel pump nozzle, make
sure that you do not press on the fuel filler
door opener @) with the fuel pump nozzle.

> fig. 158. Otherwise, a valve will close in
the fuel filler neck and fueling will stop even
if the tank is not full.
— You must vent the tank system again if you
press on the fuel filler door opener. The fuel
pump nozzle can stay in the fuel filler neck
when doing this. Vent the tank system by
pulling the EN) switch in the driver's door
again.
— If the engine turned off because the fuel
level was too low, then you may need to re-
fuel with up to 4.0 gallons (15 liters) of fuel
in order for the vehicle to detect the new
fuel level. Otherwise, the engine may not
restart.
— Fuel can age and may lead to problems
when starting. Audi recommends replacing
the fuel in your vehicle within six months.

Checking and Filling

Read and follow the important safety precautions

The funnel used for emergency fueling is con-
tained in the vehicle tool kit, which is located in
the luggage compartment under the cargo floor
=> page 305.
> Fold up the cargo floor in the luggage compart-
ment.
> Remove the funnel from the vehicle tool kit.
> Press on the left side of the fuel filler door to
open it > page 256, fig. 157.
> Insert the funnel into the fuel filler neck all the
way until it stops > fig. 159. Make sure that the
ring on the funnel goes into the fuel tank filler
neck.
> Guide the reserve canister filler tube into the
funnel and start the emergency fueling.
> Remove and clean the funnel after the fueling
process. Then close the fuel filler door and
press on it until it latches.
@) Note
Remove fuel that has overflowed onto any ve-
hicle components immediately to reduce the
risk of damage to the vehicle.
Fuel filler door emergency release
Applies to: vehicles with manual fuel filler door release

If the central locking system malfunctions, the
fuel filler door can be unlocked manually.

The emergency opening mechanism is located
behind the right cover in the luggage compart-
ment.
> Remove the screwdriver from the vehicle tool
kit > page 305.
> Insert the flat side of the screwdriver carefully
into the slot between the side trim panel and
the cover > fig. 160 (arrows) and pry out the
cover. Keep in mind that a power cable for the
socket is located on the rear side.
> To unlock the fuel filler door, loosen the red
loop from the retainer and then pull on the
loop carefully > fig. 161 >@.
> Press on the left side of the fuel filler door to
open it > page 256, fig. 157.
() Note
Only pull on the loop until you feel resistance.
You
will not hear it release. If you continue to
pull, you could damage the emergency re-
lease mechanism.
G@) Tips
Applies to: vehicles with plug-in hybrid drive
— The tank will not be vented if the emergency
release function was used on the fuel filler
door. You can only fill a small amount of
fuel in the tank. Fill only until the fuel pump
nozzle turns off for the first time. Drive to
an authorized Audi dealer or authorized
Audi Service Facility immediately to have
the malfunction corrected.
— Pressure can escape if you open the tank cap
after using the emergency release. This can
create noises.
