no

on
the
lower
tailgate.

Terminating
the
closing
procedure
The
closing
procedure
is
interrupted
in
the

vehicle

off

jerky
movement.'xBy
pressing
the
button
in
the
lower
tailgate.
System
limits
The
upper
tailgate
and
the
lower
tailgate
are
dej
signed
for
electric
operation
via
the
provided
opj erating
points.
A
manual
operation
of
the
tailgate
can
produce
system
states
in
which
an
electric
operation
is
no longer
possible.
For
instance,
this
type
of
system
state
applies when
there
is
a
danger
of
collision
between
the
upper
and
lower
tailgate.
In
this
case,
an
acoustic signal
will
sound
and
the
upper
tailgate
must
be
completely
opened
manually.
Operate
the
tailgate
manually
in
exceptional
cases
only
such
as
in
the
event
of
a
malfunction.
Malfunction
Safety

Warning
With
manual
operation
of
a
blocked
tailgate,
it can
release
itself
unexpectedly
from
the
blockjage.
There
is
a

of

operate

the
valet
parking
mode,
the
Control

is
locked
and
operation
via
iDrive
is
no
longer
posj sible.
E.g.,
this
mode
can

used
when
the
vehicle
is handed
over
for
valet
parking.

the
valet
parking
mode,
it
is
not
possible
to
change
vehicle
settings
via
iDrive.
Personal

changed

personal
data

resistance

blockage

detected
while
a
window
is
being
closed,
the
closing
action
is
inj
terrupted.
The
window
opens
slightly.
Safety
information
Warning
Accessories
on
the
windows
such
as
antennas can
impact
jam
protection.
There
is
a
risk
of
inj
jury.
Do
not
install
accessories
in
the
area
of
movement
of
the
windows.
Closing
without
the
jam
protection
system
In
case
of
danger
from
the
outside
or
if
ice
might
prevent
normal
closing,
proceed
as
follows:

Pull
the
switch
past
the
resistance
point
and
hold
it
there.
The
window
closes
with
limited
jam
protecj
tion.
If
the
closing
force
exceeds
a
specific threshold,
closing
is

seconds
and
hold it

Safety
switch
Concept
With
the
safety
switch,
it
is
possible
to
block
parj ticular
functions

rear.
This
makes
sense,for

if
children
or
animals
are
carried

rear.
If
an
accident
of

certain
severity
occurs,
the
safety
function
is
switched
off
automatically.
