Automatic transmission
The driver support functions can follow anothervehicle at speeds from a standstill up to200 km/h (125 mph).
Pilot Assist can provide steering assistance fromnear-stationary speeds up to 140 km/h(87 mph).
The lowest speed that can be set is 30 km/h(20 mph). When following another vehicle, ACCcan monitor that vehicle's speed and slow yourown vehicle down to a standstill, but it is not pos-sible to set speeds lower than 30 km/h(20 mph).

City Safety and delayed evasivemaneuvers
City Safety can assist the driver by automaticallybraking the vehicle when it is not possible toavoid a collision by steering alone.
City Safety assists the driver by periodicallyattempting to predict possible "escape routes" tothe sides of the vehicle in the event a slow-mov-ing or stationary vehicle were to be detected at alate stage.
Your vehicle (1) cannot detect any potential escaperoutes for veering away from the vehicle ahead (2) andmay therefore apply the brakes at an earlier stage.
Own vehicle
Slow-moving/stationary vehicles
City Safety will not intervene to automaticallyapply the brakes if it is possible for the driver toavoid a collision by steering the vehicle.

Low objects
Hanging objects, such as flags for overhangingloads or accessories such as auxiliary lights orfront protective grids that extend beyond theheight of the hood, may limit City Safety function-ality.
Slippery road conditions
The extended braking distance on slippery roadsmay reduce City Safety's capacity to help avoid acollision. In these types of situations, the Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Con-
trol (ESC49) will help provide optimal brakingpower with maintained stability.
Backlighting
The visual warning signal in the windshield maybe difficult to detect in bright sunlight, if there arereflections, or if the driver is wearing sunglassesor not looking straight ahead.

Lane Keeping Aid
Lane Keeping Aid (LKA80) is designed toactively steer the vehicle on freeways, highwaysand other major roads to help the driver reducethe risk of the vehicle unintentionally veering outof the lane.
Lake Keeping Assistance steers the vehicle backinto the lane and/or alerts the driver using vibra-tions in the steering wheel.
Lane Keeping Aid is active at speeds between65–200 km/h (40–125 mph) on roads withclearly visible traffic lane marker lines.
On narrow roads, the function may be unavailableand go into standby mode. The function willbecome available again when the road becomessufficiently wide.
A camera monitors the road/traffic lane's marker lines.
Lane Keeping Aid steers the vehicle back into its lane.
Lane Keeping Aid alerts the driver using vibrations in thesteering wheel.
Depending on the settings used, Lane KeepingAid functions in different ways:
Assist enabled: When the vehicleapproaches a lane marker line, the functionwill actively steer the vehicle back into thelane using light pressure on the steeringwheel.
Warning enabled: If the vehicle is about tomove over a lane marker line, the driver willbe alerted by vibrations in the steering wheel.
NOTE
When the direction indicators/turn signals areactivated, the Lane Keeping Aid does not pro-vide any warning or intervene with steering.
