Do not ignore the TPMS warning light
when it is turned on or flashing:
Continuing to drive the vehicle while
ignoring the illumination/flashing of
the TPMS warning light is dangerous
because a tyre may burst which could
lead to an accident. Take appropriate
measures as soon as possible.

▼i-ACTIVSENSE Warning
Indication/Warning Light*
The indication displays if the system
has a malfunction.
Check the reason for the indication
displaying on the centre display or
multi-information display.
Refer to If a Warning Light Turns On or
Flashes on page 7-49.
▼Exterior Light Warning Indication/
Warning Light
This light illuminates if there is a
malfunction in the exterior lights
(except number plate lights). Have
your vehicle inspected by an expert
repairer (we recommend an
Authorised Mazda Repairer).
CAUTION
Do not drive the vehicle while an
exterior light has a malfunction. Poor
visibility, and not being able to signal
braking and turns may cause an
accident. In addition, if the vehicle is
driven with the lights not turned on, it
may conflict with laws and regulations
due to poor maintenance.
▼Low Fuel Warning Indication/
Warning Light
The light turns on when the remaining
fuel is about 9.0 L (2.3 US gal, 1.9 Imp
gal). If you continue to drive after the
light turns on without refuelling and
the fuel gauge reaches nearly empty,
the light flashes.
If Trouble Arises
Warning/Indicator Lights and Warning Sounds
7-58*Some models.
NOTE
The light illumination timing may vary
because fuel inside the fuel tank moves
around according to the driving
conditions and the vehicle posture.
Action to be taken
Add fuel. If the light is flashing, refuel
as soon as possible.
▼Engine Oil Level Warning
Indication/Warning Light
This warning light indicates that the
engine oil level is around the MIN
mark (page 6-27).
CAUTION
Do not continue to drive the vehicle
with the engine oil level warning
indication/warning light displayed/
turned on. If the vehicle continues to
be driven with an insufficient amount
of engine oil, it could cause damage to
the engine.
Action to be taken
Add 1 L (0.3 US gal, 0.2 Imp gal) of
engine oil (page 6-24).
▼Seat Belt Warning Indication/
Warning Light (Front seat)
The seat belt warning light turns on if
the driver or front passenger's seat is
occupied and the seat belt is not
fastened with the ignition switched
ON.
If the driver or front passenger's seat
belt is unfastened (only when the front
passenger's seat is occupied) and the
vehicle is driven at a speed faster than
about 20 km/h (12 mph), the warning
light flashes. After a short time, the
warning light stops flashing, but
remains illuminated. If a seat belt
remains unfastened, the warning light
flashes again for a given period of
time.
NOTE
xIf the driver or front passenger's seat
belt is unfastened after the warning
light turns on, and the vehicle speed
exceeds 20 km/h (12 mph), the
warning light flashes again.
xPlacing heavy items on the front
passenger's seat may cause the front
passenger's seat belt warning
function to operate depending on
the weight of the item.
xTo allow the front passenger seat
weight sensor to function properly,
do not place and sit on an additional
seat cushion on the front passenger's
seat. The sensor may not function
properly because the additional seat
cushion could cause sensor
interference.
xIf a small child is seated on the front
passenger's seat, the warning light
may not operate.
Action to be taken
Fasten the seat belts.
▼Seat Belt Warning Light (Rear seat)

If the rear seat belts are not fastened
while the ignition is switched ON , the
driver and the passenger are alerted by
the warning light.

turns
off.
Action to be taken
Fasten the seat belts.
▼Low Washer Fluid Level Warning

This warning light indicates that little
washer fluid remains.
Action to be taken
Add washer fluid (page 6-31).
▼Door-Ajar/Liftgate-Ajar Warning
Indication/Warning Light
The light turns on if any door/liftgate is
not closed securely.
Action to be taken
Close the door/liftgate securely.
▼Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
(TPMS) Warning Indication/
Warning Light (Turns on)
*
If a tyre pressure decreases below the
specified air pressure, the TPMS
warning light turns on.
At the same time, a message and the
tyre pressure of each tyre are displayed
on the multi-information display
alternately. In addition, the tyre (s)
with low air pressure is displayed in
yellow.
WARNING
Do not drive the vehicle at high
speeds if the TPMS warning light turns
on or flashes:
Driving the vehicle at high speeds
while the TPMS warning light is turned
on or flashing is dangerous because
the brake performance and the
steering wheel operability will be
reduced. If the vehicle is driven at high
speeds or the brakes are suddenly
applied, it could lead to an accident.
Gradually apply the brakes to lower the
vehicle's speed.
If Trouble Arises
Warning/Indicator Lights and Warning Sounds
7-60*Some models.
Do not ignore the TPMS warning light
when it is turned on or flashing:
Continuing to drive the vehicle while
ignoring the illumination/flashing of
the TPMS warning light is dangerous
because a tyre may burst which could
lead to an accident. Take appropriate
measures as soon as possible.
NOTE
While the TPMS is learning the tyre
positions, such as immediately after a
tyre position has been changed, the
tyre pressure at the tyre position prior
to it being changed is displayed until
the system completes the learning. For
this reason, the tyre pressures
displayed for the tyre positions may be
different from the actual tyre pressures
at the tyre positions.
Action to be taken
Adjust the tyre pressures to the
appropriate pressures.
Refer to Tyre Inflation Pressure on page
6-41.
CAUTION
¾Adjust the tyre pressures while the
tyres are cool. Because the air
pressure in the tyres fluctuates
depending on the temperature,
before adjusting the tyre pressures,
let the vehicle sit for an hour or drive
it only within a 1.6 km (1 mile)
distance. If the tyre pressures are
adjusted while the tyres are warm,
the tyre pressures may decrease
below the specified air pressure after
cooling down which could turn on
the warning light. In addition,
because the air pressure in the tyres
decreases when the ambient
temperature is low, if the ambient
temperature increases, an
illuminated TPMS warning light may
turn off. Under any circumstances,
always adjust the tyre pressures while
the tyres are cool.
¾After adjusting the tyre pressures, the
TPMS warning light turns off. If the
TPMS warning light does not turn
off,
drive the vehicle at a speed of about
25 km (16 mph) or faster for 3
minutes or longer and make sure the
warning light turns off.
If the TPMS warning light remains on
even after adjusting the tyre pressures,
one of the tyres may have a puncture.
