WARNING: To help prevent yourvehicle from moving when changing a wheel,shift the transmission into park (P), set theparking brake and use an appropriate blockor wheel chock to secure the wheeldiagonally opposite to the wheel beingchanged. For example, when changing thefront left wheel, place an appropriate blockor wheel chock on the right rear wheel.
WARNING: Do not work on yourvehicle when the jack is the only support. Ifthe vehicle slips off the jack, you or someoneelse could be seriously injured.
WARNING: Do not attempt to changea tire on the side of the vehicle close tomoving traffic. Pull far enough off the roadto avoid the danger of being hit whenoperating the jack or changing the wheel.
WARNING: Always use the jackprovided as original equipment with yourvehicle. If using a jack other than the oneprovided, make sure the jack capacity isadequate for the vehicle weight, includingany vehicle cargo or modifications. If you areunsure if the jack capacity is adequate,contact the authorized dealer.
Note:Passengers should not remain in yourvehicle when the vehicle is being jacked.
1. Park on a level surface, set the parkingbrake and activate the hazard flashers.
2. Place the transmission in park (P) andturn the engine off. For vehicles with amanual transmission, place thetransmission in reverse (R) after theengine is turned off.
3.Block both the front and rear of the wheeldiagonally opposite the flat tire. Forexample, if the left front tire is flat, blockthe right rear wheel.
4. Remove the carpeted wheel cover.
5. Remove the spare tire bolt securing thespare tire by turning it counterclockwise.
6.Remove the spare tire from the spare tirecompartment.

Stowing the Flat Tire Without theRetainer Strap
You can temporarily stow the full-size roadwheel in the spare tire compartment.
1.Lift the carpeted wheel cover at an angleto access the spare tire compartment.
2.Place the wheel in the spare tire well withthe valve stem facing down.
3.Install the shorter jack retainer bolt to thejack bolt-down bracket through thecentre of the wheel. Finally, wind thewheel retainer down to secure the wheelin place.
4. Place the jack and tools back into thespare tire compartment.
5. Replace the carpeted wheel cover.
Stowing the Flat Tire Using theRetainer Strap (If Equipped)
You can temporarily stow the full-size roadwheel in the spare tire compartment.
1. Find the flat tire retainer strap tuckedinside the jack channel.
2.Locate the jack bolt-down bracket. Pushthe retainer strap through the jackbolt-down bracket.
3.Put the jack and lug wrench away. Makesure the jack is fastened so it does notrattle when you drive.
4.Stow the flat tire on the floor in the cargoarea.
5. Weave the retainer strap through thewheel openings.

In track mode, the system displays and playsthe structure as if it were only one level deep(all MP3 and WMA files play, regardless ofbeing in a specific folder). In folder mode,the system only plays the MP3 and WMA filesin the current folder.

Getting to Know Your System
The SYNC 3 system allows you to interactwith a variety of features using thetouchscreen and voice commands. Byintegrating with your Bluetooth enabledphone, the touchscreen provides easyinteraction with audio, multimedia, climatecontrol, navigation, and your phone's SYNC3 compatible apps.
Using the Touchscreen
To operate the touchscreen, you can simplytouch the item or option that you want toselect. The button changes color when youselect it.
The SYNC 3 layout allows you to quicklyselect the feature you wish to use.

Settings
Cleaning the Touchscreen
You can remove fingerprints with a dry,clean, soft cloth.
If dirt or fingerprints are still on the screen,apply a small amount of alcohol to the clothand try to clean it again.
Note: Do not use detergent or any type ofsolvent to clean the touchscreen.
Note:Do not pour or spray alcohol onto thetouchscreen.
Using Voice Recognition
Using voice commands allows you to keepyour hands on the wheel and focus on whatis in front of you. The system providesfeedback through audible tones, prompts,questions and spoken confirmationsdepending on the situation and the chosenlevel of interaction (voice settings).
The system also asks short questions(confirmation prompts) when it is not sure ofyour request or when there are multiplepossible responses to your request.
When using voice commands, words andicons may appear in the status bar indicatingthe status of the voice command session.See Using Voice Recognition (page 411).
Accessing and Adjusting ModesThrough Your Vehicle InformationDisplay (If Equipped)
Depending on your vehicle and selectedoptions you may be able to control some ofthe SYNC 3 features on your informationdisplay.
You can make the following adjustmentsusing the information display SYNC 3 screen:

•DISP: Switch the display on or off. Youcan also touch the screen to switch thedisplay back on.
•Temperature, fan and climate controlbuttons: Control the temperature, fanspeed or settings of the climate controlsystem. See Climate Control (page 136).
911 Assist
WARNING: Unless the 911 Assistsetting is set on before a crash, the systemwill not dial for help which could delayresponse time, potentially increasing the riskof serious injury or death after a crash.
WARNING: Do not wait for 911 Assistto make an emergency call if you can do ityourself. Dial emergency servicesimmediately to avoid delayed response timewhich could increase the risk of serious injuryor death after a crash. If you do not hear 911Assist within five seconds of the crash, thesystem or phone may be damaged ornon-functional.
WARNING: Always place your phonein a secure location in your vehicle so it doesnot become a projectile or get damaged ina crash. Failure to do so may cause seriousinjury to someone or damage the phonewhich could prevent 911 Assist from workingproperly.
Note:The SYNC 911 Assist feature must beset on before the incident.
Note:The SYNC 911 Assist feature onlyoperates in the U.S., Canada or in a territoryin which 911 is the emergency number.
Note:Before setting this feature on, makesure that you read the 911 Assist PrivacyNotice later in this section for importantinformation.
Note:If any user sets 911 Assist to on or off,that setting applies for all paired phones. If911 Assist is switched off and the phone isconnected to SYNC, an icon displays on thestatus bar.
Note:Every phone operates differently.While SYNC 911 Assist works with mostcellular phones, some may have troubleusing this feature.
If a crash deploys an airbag (excluding kneeairbags and rear inflatable safety belts [ifequipped]) or activates the fuel pumpshut-off, your SYNC-equipped vehicle maybe able to contact emergency services bydialing 911 through a paired and connectedBluetooth enabled phone.
