Note:If the system detects an object is veryclose to your vehicle and it may be unsafeto continue the maneuver, it may instruct youto stop your vehicle. The system may notprovide any further instruction. Steeringassistance continues to operate but youmust decide if it is safe to continue themaneuver.
After the system directs your vehicle to aposition where you can exit the parkingspace in a forward movement, a messageappears instructing you to take full controlof your vehicle. Generally, hand-over is whenyour vehicle is still inside the parking space.
Note:Parallel Park Out Assist may not beavailable when the clearance to the front orthe rear of your vehicle is too small.
Note:If the vehicle speed exceedsapproximately 6 mph (9 km/h), you interruptthe maneuver, or the system switches off,you must take full control of your vehicle.
Note:You are responsible for controllingyour vehicle and making sure the path isclear prior to pulling into traffic.
Troubleshooting
Possible CauseSymptom
You may have switched the traction control off.The system does not search for a parking space.
The transmission is in reverse (R). Your vehicle must be moving forward to be able todetect a parking space.
The sensors may be blocked. For example, snow, ice or dirt buildup. Blocked sensorscan affect how the system functions.The system does not offer a parking space.
There is not enough room in the parking space for your vehicle to safely park.
There is not enough space for the parking maneuver on the opposite side of the parkingspace.

Active guidelines are only shown with fixedguidelines. To use active guidelines, turn thesteering wheel to point the guidelines towardan intended path. If you change the steeringwheel position while reversing, your vehiclemight deviate from the original intendedpath.
The fixed and active guidelines fade in andout depending on your steering wheelposition. When your steering wheel positionis straight, the active guidelines are notvisible.
Always use caution while reversing. Objectsin the red zone are closest to your vehicleand objects in the green zone are fartheraway. Objects are getting closer to yourvehicle as they move from the green zoneto the yellow or red zones. Use the side viewmirrors and rear view mirror to get bettercoverage on both sides and rear of yourvehicle.
Enhanced Park Aids
Note:The reverse sensing system is noteffective at speeds above 3 mph (5 km/h)and may not detect certain angular ormoving objects.
The system uses red, yellow and greenhighlights that appear on top of the videoimage when the reverse sensing systemdetects an object. The alert highlights theclosest object detected. You can disable thereverse sensing alert if you have enhancedpark aids enabled, you will still see thedisplayed highlighted areas.
Selectable settings for this feature are ONand OFF.

WARNING: When manual zoom is on,the full area behind your vehicle is notshown. Be aware of your surroundings whenusing the manual zoom feature.
Note:Manual zoom is only available whenthe transmission is in reverse (R).

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Cruise control lets you maintain a set speedwithout keeping your foot on the acceleratorpedal. You can use cruise control when yourvehicle speed is greater than 20 mph(30 km/h).
USING CRUISE CONTROL (If Equipped)
WARNING: Do not use cruise controlon winding roads, in heavy traffic or whenthe road surface is slippery. This could resultin loss of vehicle control, serious injury ordeath.
WARNING: When you are goingdownhill, your vehicle speed could increaseabove the set speed. The system does notapply the brakes.
To help the system to maintain the set speedwhen going downhill, downshift to a lowergear.
Your vehicle speed could decrease belowthe set speed when driving uphill.
Note:The system cancels if your vehiclespeed drops below 10 mph (16 km/h) underthe set speed when driving uphill.
The cruise controls are on the steeringwheel. A more detailed graphic is in theSteering Wheel information. See CruiseControl (page 82).
Switching Cruise Control On
Press and release the button.
The indicator appears in theinformation display.
Setting the Cruise Speed
Drive to your preferred speed.
Press and release to set thecurrent speed.
Press and release to set thecurrent speed.
Take your foot off the accelerator pedal.
Note:The indicator will change color.
Changing the Set Speed
Press and release to increase theset speed in small increments.
Press and release to decrease theset speed in small increments.
Press and hold either button to accelerateor decelerate, respectively. Release thebutton when you reach your preferred speed.

The system adjusts your vehicle speed tomaintain the set gap between you and thevehicle in front of you in the same lane. Youcan select four gap settings.
The system uses a radar sensor whichprojects a beam directly in front of yourvehicle.
Note:It is your responsibility to stay alert,drive safely and be in control of the vehicleat all times.
The cruise controls are on the steeringwheel. See Using Cruise Control (page 222).

USING DRIVER ALERT
Switching the System On and Off
Switch the system on or off using theinformation display. See General Information(page 110).
When active, the system monitors youralertness level based upon your drivingbehavior in relation to the lane markings andother factors.
System Warnings
Note:The system does not issue warningsbelow approximately 40 mph (64 km/h).
The warning system has two stages. First,the system issues a temporary warning thatyou need to take a rest. This message onlyappears for a short time. If the systemdetects further reduction in driving alertness,it may issue another warning that remains inthe information display for a longer time. Youcan press OK on the steering wheel controlto clear the warning.
System Display
When active, the system runs automaticallyin the background and only issues a warningif required. You can view the status at anytime using the information display. SeeGeneral Information (page 110).
The alertness level is shown by six steps ina colored bar.
The current assessment of your alertness iswithin a typical range.
The current assessment of your alertnessindicates that you should rest as soon assafely possible.
The status bar travels from left to right as thecalculated alertness level decreases. As themeter approaches the rest icon, the colorturns from green to yellow to red.
The yellow position indicates the firstwarning is active and the red positionindicates the second warning is active.
Note:If you have recently received awarning, you should consider resting, evenif the current assessment is within the typicalrange.
Note:If the camera sensor cannot track theroad lane markings, or if your vehicle speeddrops below approximately 40 mph(64 km/h), the alertness level changes togrey for a short time and the informationdisplay informs you that the system isunavailable.
Resetting the System
You can reset the system by either:

•Switching the ignition off and on.
•Stopping the vehicle and then openingand closing the driver’s door.

WARNING: In cold and severe weatherconditions the system may not function. Rain,snow and spray can all limit sensorperformance.
WARNING: The system will not operateif the sensor cannot track the road lanemarkings.
WARNING: The sensor may incorrectlytrack lane markings as other structures orobjects. This can result in a false or missedwarning.
WARNING: Large contrasts in outsidelighting can limit sensor performance.
WARNING: The system may notoperate properly if the sensor is blocked.Keep the windshield free from obstruction.
WARNING: If damage occurs in theimmediate area surrounding the sensor, haveyour vehicle checked as soon as possible.
WARNING: The system may notcorrectly operate if your vehicle is fitted witha suspension kit not approved by us.
Note:The system works above 40 mph(64 km/h).
Note:The system works as long as thecamera can detect one lane marking.
Note:When aid mode is on and the systemdetects no steering activity for a short period,the system alerts you to put your hands onthe steering wheel. The system may detecta light grip or touch on the steering wheelas hands off driving.
Note:The system may not function if thecamera is blocked, or if the windshield isdamaged or dirty.

When you switch the system on and itdetects an unintentional drift out of your laneis likely to occur, the system notifies orassists you to stay in your lane through thesteering system and information display.Depending on the feature operation modeyou select, the system provides a warningby vibrating the steering wheel or a steeringassistance by gently counter steering yourvehicle back into the lane.
Switching the System On and Off
Note:The system on or off setting is storeduntil it is manually changed, unless a MyKey™is detected. If the system detects a MyKey™,it defaults to on and the mode is set to alert.
Press the button on the direction indicatorstalk to switch the system on or off.
System Settings
The system has optional setting menusavailable. The system stores the last-knownselection for each of these settings. You donot need to readjust your settings each timeyou switch on the system.
Mode: This setting allows you to select whichof the system features you can enable.
Alert only – Provides a steering wheelvibration when the system detects anunintended lane departure.
Aid only – Provides steering assistancetoward the lane center when the systemdetects an unintended lane departure.

Alert + Aid – Provides steering assistancetoward the lane center.
If your vehicle continues drifting out of thelane after the lane keeping aid corrects thevehicle, the system provides a steeringwheel vibration.
Note:The alert and aid diagrams illustrategeneral zone coverage. They do not provideexact zone parameters.
Intensity: This setting affects the intensity ofthe steering wheel vibration used for the alertand alert + aid modes. This setting does notaffect the aid mode.

System Display
If you switch the system on in alert mode, anoverhead graphic of a vehicle with lanemarkings appears in the information display.
If you switch the system on in aid or alert andaid mode, a separate white icon alsoappears, or in some vehicles, arrows displaywith the lane markings.
When you switch the system off, the lanemarking graphics do not display.
While the system is on, the color of the lanemarkings change to indicate the systemstatus.
Gray: Indicates that the system is temporarilyunable to provide a warning or interventionon the indicated side. This may be because:
•Your vehicle is under the activationspeed.
•The direction indicator is active.
•Your vehicle is in a dynamic maneuver.
