When trouble arises If a warning message is dis-
played The multi-information display
shows warnings of system malfunc-
tions, incorrectly performed opera-
tions, and messages that indicate a
need for maintenance. When a
message is shown, perform the cor-
rection procedure appropriate to
the message.
Except F SPORT models:
Master warning lightThe master warning light also comes on
or flashes in order to indicate that a mes-
sage is currently being displayed on the
multi-information display.
Multi-information displayFollow the instructions of the message
on the multi-information display.
If any of the warning messages are
shown again after the appropriate
actions have been performed, contact

When trouble arises  In some situations, the master warning light and warning buzzer may not oper-
ate as specified. In this case, follow the instructions displayed in the warning
message.
 If a warning light comes on or flashes at the same time that a warning message is
displayed, take corrective actio n according to the warning light. (  P.415)*
: A buzzer sounds the first time a message is shown on the multi-information display.

Warning messages
The warning messages explained below
may differ from the actual messages
according to operation conditions and vehi-
cle specifications. ■
Warning buzzer
In some cases, the bu zzer may not be heard
due to being in a noisy location or audio
sound. ■
If “Engine Oil Level Low Add or
Replace” is displayed
The engine oil level is low. Check the level
of the engine oil, and add if necessary.
This message may appear if the vehicle is
stopped on a slope. Move the vehicle to a
level surface and check to see if the mes-
sage disappears.
■
If “Engine Stoppe d Steering Power
Low” is displayed
This message is displa yed if the engine is
stopped while driving.
When steering wheel operations are
heavier than usual, grip the steering wheel
firmly and operate it using more force than
usual. ■
If “Auto Power Off to Conserve Bat-
tery” is displayed
Power was turned off due to the automatic
power off function. Next time when starting
the engine, increase the engine speed
slightly and maintain that level for approxi-
mately 5 minutes to recharge the battery. ■
If “Headlight System Malfunction Visit
Your Dealer” is displayed
The following systems may be malfunction-
ing. Have the vehicle inspected by your
Lexus dealer immediately. ●
The LED headlight system ●
AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) ●
The automatic headlight leveling system ●
AHB (Automatic High Beam)

If “Radar Cruise Control Unavailable
See Owner's Manual” is displayed
The dynamic radar cruise control with
full-speed range system is suspended tem-
porarily or until the problem shown in the
message is re solved. (causes and coping
methods:  P.196, 202)

If “Radar Cruise Control Unavailable” is
displayed
The dynamic radar cruise control with
full-speed range system cannot be used
temporarily. Use the system when it Comes on Does not sound Indicates a condition, such as malfunction of electri-
cal components, their cond ition, or indicates the
need for maintenance
Flashes Does not sound Indicates a situation, such as when an operation has
been performed incorrectly, or indicates how to

If “Maintenance Required Soon” is dis-
played
Indicates that all maintenance according to
the driven distance on the maintenance
schedule *
should be performed soon.
Comes on approximately 4500 miles
(7200 km) after the message has been
reset. If necessary, perform maintenance.
Please reset the message after the mainte-
nance is performed. (  P.364)*
: Refer to the separa te “Scheduled Main-
tenance” or “Owner’s Manual Supple-
ment” for the maintenance interval
applicable to your vehicle.■
If “Maintenance Required Visit Your
Dealer” is displayed
Indicates that all maintenance is required to
correspond to the driven distance on the
maintenance schedule *
.
Comes on approximately 5000 miles
(8000 km) after the message has been
reset. (The indicator will not work properly
unless the message ha s been reset.) Per-
form the necessary maintenance. Please
reset the message after the maintenance is
performed. (  P.364)*

ment” for the maintenance interval
applicable to your vehicle. ■
If “Oil Maintenance Required Soon” is
displayed
Indicates that the engine oil should be
scheduled to be changed.
Check the engine oil an d change it if neces-
sary. After changing th e engine oil, make
sure to reset the message. (  P.377)■
If “Oil Maintenance Required” is dis-
played
Indicates that the engine oil should be
changed.
Check and change the en gine oil, and oil fil-
ter by your Lexus dealer. After changing the
engine oil, make sure to reset the message.

If “Shift System Malfunction Driving
Unavailable” is displayed
There is a malfunction in the shift control
system. Have the vehicle inspected by your
Lexus dealer immediately. ■
If a message that indicates the need for
the shift lever operation is displayed
To prevent the shift le ver from being oper-
ated incorrectly or the vehicle from moving
unexpectedly, a message that requires shift-
ing the shift position may be displayed on
the multi-information display. In that case,
follow the instruction of the message and
shift the shift position. ■
If a message that indicates the need for
visiting your Lexus dealer is displayed
The system or part shown on the
multi-information display is malfunctioning.
Have the vehicle inspected by your Lexus
dealer immediately.

If a message that indicates the need for
referring to Owner’ s Manual is dis-
played

If any of the following messages are
shown on the multi-information display,
follow the instructions.
• “Engine Coolant Temp High” (  P.440)
•“Battery Low” (  P.435)
• “Transmission Fluid Temp High” (  P.168)
●
If any of the following messages are
shown on the multi-info rmation display, it
may indicate a malf unction. Have the
vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer

When trouble arises immediately.
• “Access System with Elec. Key Malfunc-
tion”
• “Shift System Malfunction”
• “P Switch Malfunction”
• “Shift System Unavailable” ●
If any of the following messages are
shown on the multi-information display, it
may indicate a malfunction. Immediately
stop the vehicle and contact your Lexus
dealer.
• “Braking Power Low”
• “Charging System Malfunction”
• “Oil Pressure Low”
Take your vehicle to the nearest Lexus
dealer or authorized tire dealer as
soon as possible if any tire goes flat. The vehicle can be driven for a maximum
of 100 miles (160 km) at a speed below 50
mph (80 km/h) after the tire pressure
warning light comes on. (  P.419)
A run-flat tire has a mark on the
side wall.

In some conditions (s uch as at high tem-
peratures)
You cannot continue driving for up to 160
miles (100 km).

If “High Power Consumption Partial
Limit On AC/Heater Operation” is
displayed frequently
There is a possible malfunction relating
to the charging system or the battery
may be deteriorating. Have the vehicle
inspected by your Lexus dealer. If you have a flat tire Your vehicle is not equipped with a
spare tire, but instead you can con-
tinue driving the vehicle with
run-flat tires even if any tire goes
flat.
In this case, slow down and drive
with extra caution.

of the problem:
 There may not be sufficient fuel in
the vehicle’s tank.
Refuel the vehicle.
 The engine may be flooded.
Try to restart the engine again fol-
lowing correct starting procedures.

 There may be a malfunction in the
engine immobilizer system.
(  P.63)
 There may be a malfunction in the
shift control system. *

: It may not be possible to shift the shift
position from P.
One of the following may be the cause
of the problem:
 The battery may be discharged. NOTICE■
When replacing the tires
When removing or fitting the wheels,
tires or the tire pressure warning valve
and transmitter, contact your Lexus
dealer as the tire pr essure warning valve
and transmitter may be damaged if not
handled correctly. ■
When driving over bumps
If a vehicle has a flat tire, the vehicle
height will be lower than usual. Ensure
that nothing strikes the bottom of the
vehicle. ■
To avoid damage to the tire pressure
warning valves and transmitters
When a tire is repaired with liquid seal-
ants, the tire pressu re warning valve and
transmitter may not operate properly. If a
liquid sealant is used , contact your Lexus
dealer or other qualified service shop as
soon as possible. Make sure to replace
the tire pressure warning valve and trans-
mitter when replacing the tire. (  P.387) If the engine will not start If the engine will not start even
though correct starting procedures
are being followed (  P.164), con-
sider each of the following points:
The engine will not start even
though the starter motor oper-
ates normally.
The starter motor turns over
slowly, the interior lights and
headlights are dim, or the horn
does not sound or sounds at a low
volume.

 The battery terminal connections
may be loose or corroded.
(  P.380)
The engine starting system may be
malfunctioning due to an electrical
problem such as electronic key battery
depletion or a blown fuse. However, an
interim measure is available to start the
engine. (  P.431)
One of the following may be the cause
of the problem:
 One or both of the battery terminals
may be disconnected. (  P.380)
 The battery may be discharged.
(  P.435)
 There may be a malfunction in the
steering lock system. Contact your Lexus dealer if the problem
cannot be repaired, or if repair procedures
are unknown.
When the engine does not start, the
following steps can be used as an
interim measure to start the engine if
the engine switch is functioning nor- mally.
Do not use this starting procedure
except in cases of emergency.
1 Press the parking brake switch to
check that the parking brake is set.
(  P.174) Parking brake indicator will come on.
2 Turn the engine switch to ACCES-
SORY mode.
3 Press and hold the engine switch
for about 15 seconds while
depressing the brake pedal firmly.
Even if the engine can be started using
the above steps, the system may be
malfunctioning. Have the vehicle
inspected by your Lexus dealer.The starter motor does not turn
over
The starter motor does not turn
over, the interior lights and head-
lights do not turn on, or the horn
does not sound.

pull the lever.If you lose your keys New genuine mechanical keys can
be made by your Lexus dealer using
another mechanical key and the
key number stamped on your key
number plate.
Keep the plate in a safe place such
as your wallet, not in the vehicle. NOTICE■
When an electronic key is lost
If the electronic key remains lost, the risk
of vehicle theft increases significantly.
Visit your Lexus deal er immediately with
all remaining electronic keys and the
card key (if equipped) that were pro-
vided with your vehicle. If the fuel filler door cannot
be opened If the fuel filler door opener switch
cannot be operated, contact your
Lexus dealer to service the vehicle.
In case where refueling is urgently
necessary, the following procedure
can be used to open the fuel filler
door.
