Information
The following symptoms may occur
during normal vehicle operation:
 The steering effort may be high immediately after placing the igni-
tion switch in the ON position.
This happens as the system per-
forms the EPS system diagnostics.
When the diagnostics are complet-
ed, the steering wheel will return to
its normal condition.
 A click noise may be heard from the EPS relay after the ignition switch is
in the ON or LOCK/OFF position.
 Motor noise may be heard when the vehicle is at a stop or at a low driv-
ing speed.
 When you operate the steering wheel in low temperatures, abnor-
mal noise may occur. If the temper-
ature rises, the noise will disappear.
This is a normal condition.
 When an error is detected from the EPS, the steering effort assist func-
tion will not be activated in order to
prevent fatal accidents. Instrument
cluster warning lights may be on or
the steering effort may be high.
When the following symptoms
occur, immediately drive the vehicle
to a safe area and check it.Tilt Steering / Telescope Steering
Adjust the steering wheel so it points
toward your chest, not toward your
face. Make sure you can see the
instrument cluster warning lights and
gauges. After adjusting, push the
steering wheel both up and down to
be certain it is locked in position.
Always adjust the position of the
steering wheel before driving.
To change the steering wheel angleand height:
1. Pull down the lock-release lever (1).
2. Adjust the steering wheel to thedesired angle (2) and distance for-
ward/back (3).
3. Pull up the lock-release lever to lock the steering wheel in place.
Information
After adjustment, sometimes the lock
release lever may not lock the steering
wheel. It is not a malfunction. This
occurs when two gears are not
engaged correctly. In this case, adjust
the steering wheel again and then lock
the steering wheel.

Horn
To sound the horn, press the area
indicated by the horn symbol on your
steering wheel (see illustration). The
horn will operate only when this areais pressed.
Do not strike the horn severely to
operate it, or hit it with your fist.Do not press on the horn with asharp-pointed object.
Heated Steering Wheel (if equipped)
When the ignition switch is in the ON
position or when the engine is run-
ning, press the heated steering
wheel button to warm the steering
wheel. The indicator on the button
will illuminate.
To turn the heated steering wheel off,
press the button again. The indicator
on the button will turn off.
The heated steering wheel will auto-
matically turn off after approximately
30 minutes.Do not install any cover or acces-
sory on the steering wheel. The
cover or accessory could cause
damage to the heated steeringwheel system.

Inside Rearview Mirror
Before you start driving, adjust the
rearview mirror to the center on the
view through the rear window.
When cleaning the mirror, use a
paper towel or similar material
dampened with glass cleaner. Do
not spray glass cleaner directly on
the mirror as that may cause the
liquid cleaner to enter the mirrorhousing.
Day/night rearview mirror (if equipped)
Make this adjustment before you
start driving and while the day/night
lever is in the day position.
Pull the day/night lever towards you to reduce glare from the headlights
of the vehicles behind you during
night driving.
Remember that you lose some
rearview clarity in the night position.

NEVER adjust the mirror while
driving. This may cause loss of
vehicle control resulting in anaccident.
WARNING
Make sure your line of sight is
not obstructed. Do not place
objects in the rear seat, cargo
area, or behind the rear head-
rests which could interfere with
your vision through the rear
window.
WARNING
To prevent serious injury during
an accident or deployment of
the air bag, do not modify the
rearview mirror and do not
install a wide mirror.

Electric chromic mirror (ECM) with HomeLink®system,
compass and BlueLink®
(if equipped)
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
Gentex Automatic-Dimming Mirror
with a Z-Nav™ Electronic Compass
Display and an IntegratedHomeLink ®
Wireless Control
System.
During nighttime driving, this feature will automatically detect and reduce
rearview mirror glare while the com-
pass indicates the direction the vehi-
cle is pointed. The HomeLink ®
Universal Transceiver allows you to

Automatic-Dimming Night Vision
Safety™ (NVS®
) Mirror
(if equipped)
The NVS ®
Mirror automatically
reduces glare by monitoring light lev- els in the front and the rear of the
vehicle. Any object that obstructs
either light sensor will degrade the
automatic dimming control feature.

mirrors and other applica-
tions, please refer to the Gentexwebsite:
www.gentex.com Your mirror will automatically dim
upon detecting glare from the vehi-
cles traveling behind you. The auto-dimming function can be controlled
by pressing the Dimming ON/OFF
button (4):
1. Pressing and holding the button
for 3 seconds turns the auto-dim- ming function OFF which is indi-
cated by the green Status
Indicator LED turning off.
2. Pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds again turns the auto-dimming function ON which is indi-
cated by the green Status Indicator
LED turning on.
The mirror defaults to the ON posi-
tion each time the vehicle is started.
Z-Nav™ Compass Display
The NVS™ Mirror in your vehicle is
also equipped with a Z-Nav™
Compass that shows the vehicle
Compass heading in the Display
Window using the 8 basic cardinalheadings (N, NE, E, SE, etc.).
Compass function
The Compass can be turned ON andOFF and will remember the last state
when the ignition is cycled. To turn
the display feature ON/OFF:
1. Press and release the button within 1 second to turn the display
feature OFF.
2. Press and release the button again within 1 second to turn the
display back ON.
Additional options can be set withpress and hold sequences of the
button and are detailed below.
There is a difference between mag-
netic north and true north. To com-
pensate for this difference you willneed to adjust the Zone setting based
on where you live.

To adjust the Zone setting:
1. Determine the desired ZoneNumber based upon your current
location on the Zone Map.
2. Press and hold the button for 6 seconds, the current Zone
Number will appear on the display.
3. Pressing and holding the but- ton again will cause the numbers
to increment (Note: they willrepeat …13, 14, 15, 1, 2, …).
Releasing the button when thedesired Zone Number appears on
the display will set the new Zone.
4. Within about 5 seconds the com- pass will start displaying a com-pass heading again.
There are some conditions that can
cause changes to the vehicle mag-
nets, such as installing a ski rack or
a CB antenna. Body repair work on
the vehicle can also cause changes
to the vehicle's magnetic field. In
these situations, the compass will
need to be re-calibrated to quickly
correct these changes.

If you need to recalibrate the com- pass:
1. Press and hold the button formore than 9 seconds. When the
compass memory is cleared a "C"
will appear in the display.
2. Drive the vehicle in 2 complete cir- cles at less than 8 km/h (5 mph).Integrated HomeLink ®

Control System
The HomeLink ®
Wireless Control
System can replace up to three
hand-held radio-frequency (RF)
transmitters with a single built-in
device. This innovative feature will
learn the radio frequency codes of
most current transmitters to operate
devices such as gate operators,
garage door openers, entry door
locks, security systems, even home
lighting. Both standard and rolling
code-equipped transmitters can be
programmed by following the out-
lined procedures. Additional HomeLink ®
information

or by calling 1-800-355-3515.
Retain the original transmitter of the
RF device you are programming for
use in other vehicles as well as forfuture HomeLink ®
programming. It is
also suggested that upon the sale of
the vehicle, the programmedHomeLink ®
buttons be erased for
security purposes.Before programming HomeLink ®
to a garage door opener or gate
operator, make sure people and
objects are out of the way of the
device to prevent potential harm
or damage. Do not use theHomeLink ®
with any garage
door opener that lacks the safe-
ty stop and reverse features
required by federal safety stan-
dards (this includes any garage
door opener model manufac-
tured before April 1, 1982). A
garage door that cannot detectan object - signaling the door to
stop and reverse - does not meet
current federal safety standards.
Using a garage door opener
without these features increases
the risk of serious injury ordeath.

Programming HomeLink®
Please note the following:
When programming a garage door
opener, it is advised to park the
vehicle outside of the garage.
It is recommended that a new bat- tery be placed in the hand-held
transmitter of the device being pro-
grammed to HomeLink ®
for quicker
training and accurate transmission
of the radio-frequency signal.
Some vehicles may require the igni- tion switch to be placed in the ACC
(or "Accessories") position for pro-
gramming and/or operation ofHomeLink ®
.
In the event that there are still pro- gramming difficulties or questions
after following the programming
steps listed below, contactHomeLink ®

Programming
To train most devices, follow these
instructions:
1. For first-time programming, press and hold the two outside buttons ( ,), HomeLink ®
Channel 1
and Channel 3, until the indicatorlight begins to flash (after 10 sec-
onds). Release both buttons. Do
not hold the buttons for longer
than 20 seconds. 2. Position the end of your hand-held
transmitter 2-8 cm (1-3 inches)
away from the HomeLink ®
button
you wish to program while keeping
the indicator light in view.
3. Simultaneously press and hold both the HomeLink ®
and hand-
held transmitter buttons until theHomeLink ®
indicator light changes
from a slow to a rapid blinking
light. Now you may release boththe HomeLink ®
and hand-held
transmitter buttons.
