Overheating
How to Handle Overheating
The High Temperature. Power Reduced. message appears on the driver
information interface when the pow er system temperature is high.

1.Immediately park the vehicle in a safe place.
u Change the gear position to
(P and set the parking brake. Turn off all
accessories and turn on the hazard warning lights.
2. Keep the power mode on, and wait until the message goes off.
u If the message does not go off, have th e vehicle inspected at an authorized

Indicator, Coming On/Blinking
If the 12-Volt Battery Charging System Indicator
Comes On
■Reasons for the indicator to come on
Comes on when the 12-volt battery is not being charged.
■What to do when the indicator comes on
Turn off the climate con trol system, rear defogger, and other electrical
systems, and immediately contact an authorized Honda Clarity Electric
dealer for repairs.
1 If the 12-Volt Battery Chargi ng System Indicator Comes On
If you need to stop temporarily, do not turn off the
power system. Restarting the power system may
rapidly discharge the battery.
The power system uses the 12-volt battery to
activate.
You may not be able to turn the power system on
again if you have turned it off with this indicator on.

If the Brake System Indicator (Red) Comes On or
Blinks
■Reasons for the indicator to come on
• The brake fluid is low.
• There is a malfunction in the brake system.
■What to do when the indica tor comes on while driving
Depress the brake pedal lightly to check pedal pressure.
• If normal, check the brake fluid level the next time you stop.
• If abnormal, take immediate action . If necessary, slow the vehicle
using the deceleration paddle selector.
■Reason for the indicator to blink
• There is a problem with the electric parking brake system.
■What to do when the indicator blinks
Avoid using the parking brake and ha ve your vehicle checked by an
authorized Honda Clarity El ectric dealer immediately.
1If the Brake System Indicator (Red) Comes On or Blinks
Have your vehicle re paired immediately.
It is dangerous to drive with low brake fluid. If there
is no resistance from the brake pedal, stop
immediately in a safe plac e. If necessary, downshift
the gears.
If the brake system indicator and ABS indicator come
on simultaneously, the elec tronic brake distribution
system is not working. Th is can result in vehicle
instability under sudden braking.
Have your vehicle inspected by an authorized Honda
Clarity Electric dealer immediately.
If the brake system indicator (red) blinks at the same
time when the brake system indicator (amber) comes
on, the parking br ake may not work.
Avoid using the parking brak e and have your vehicle
checked by an authorized Honda Clarity Electric

If the Electric Power Steeri ng (EPS) System Indicator
Comes On
■Reasons for the indicator to come on
• Comes on when there is a problem with the EPS system.
• If you depress the accelerator pedal repeatedly to increase the motor
speed while the motor is idling, the indicator comes on, and
sometimes the steering wheel becomes harder to operate.
• Comes on when the EPS st eering angle center point memory is lost.
This could be due to a number of problems including: battery
disconnection, main fuse blow, low battery causing the reset of the
EPS system, wire damage to EPS harness. Vehicle Stability Assist ®
(VSA ®), VSA ® OFF, Collision Mitigation Braking System
TM (CMBSTM),
and low tire pressure/TPMS indicato rs come on along with a message
in the driver information interface.
■What to do when the indicator comes on
• Stop the vehicle in a safe place, tu rn off the power system, and turn
on the power system again.
If the indicator re-appears and stays on, immediately have your vehicle
inspected by an authorized Ho nda Clarity Electric dealer.
• If VSA ® indicator, VSA ® OFF indicator, CMBS
TM indicator, and low tire
pressure/TPMS indicator come on alo ng with a message in the driver
information interface, you need to calibrate the VSA ® and EPS
systems.
Drive a short distance at more than 12 mph (20 km/h) to calibrate the
VSA ® and EPS systems.
If the indicators come on and stay on, park your vehicle in a safe
place, turn off and turn on the po wer system, then repeat the above
operation.
If the indicators still come on and stay on, immediately have your
vehicle inspected by an authorized Honda Clarity Electric dealer.

■If the brake system indicator (red) comes on or blinks at the
same time when the brake system indicator (amber) comes on,
release the parking brake ma nually or automatically.

the same time when the brake sy stem indicator (amber) comes on,
stop the vehicle in a safe place, and have it inspected by an authorized
Honda Clarity Electric dealer immediately.

parking brake, and have your vehi cle checked by an authorized

If you apply the parking br ake, you may not be able
to release it.
If the brake system indicator (red) and the brake
system indicator (amber) come on at the same time,
the parking brake is working.
If the brake system indicator (red) blinks at the same
time when the brake system indicator (amber) comes
on, the parking brake may not work because it is
checking the system.

If the Low Tire Pressure/TPMS Indicator Comes On or
Blinks
■Reasons for the indicator to come on or blink
A tire pressure is signifi cantly low, or the TPMS has not been calibrated.
If there is a problem with the TPMS, the indicator blinks for about one
minute, and then stays on.
■What to do when the indicator comes on
Drive carefully and avoid abrupt cornering and hard braking.
Stop your vehicle in a safe place. Ch eck the tire pressure and adjust the
pressure to the specified level. The sp ecified tire pressure is on a label on
the driver side doorjamb.
u Calibrate the TPMS after the tire pressure is adjusted.
■What to do when the indicator blinks, then remains on
Have the tire inspected by an authorized Honda Clarity Electric dealer as
soon as possible.
1 If the Low Tire Pressure/TPMS Indicator Comes On or Blinks
NOTICE
Driving on an extremely unde rinflated tire can cause
it to overheat. An overheated tire can fail. Always
inflate your tires to the prescribed level.

The transmission is malfunctioning.

Fuses
Fuse Locations
If any electrical devices are not working, set
the power mode to VEHICLE OFF (LOCK),
and check to see if any applicable fuse is
blown.
There are two fuse boxes in the motor
compartment.
Fuse locations are shown on the fuse box
cover. Locate the fuse in question by the
fuse number and box cover number.
Located near the windshield washer
reservoir. Push the tabs to open the box.
