in

is
a

modify

anchor
points
and
ensure
that
they
are
kept
clean.
After
an accident,
have
the
seat
belts
inspected
at
a
Service
Partner

manufacturer

another
qualified
Service
Partner
or
a
specialist
workj
shop.
Correct
seat
belt
use
'xPlace
the
seat
belt
tightly
over
the
pelvis
and
shoulder,
close
to
the
body
and
without
twistj ing.'xMake
sure
that
the
seat
belt
is
positioned
low
at
the
hip
in
the
area
of
the
pelvis.
The
seat
belt
must
not
press
on
the
abdomen.'xThe
seat
belt
must
not
be
rubbed
on
sharp
edges,
be
routed
over
solid
or
breakable
obj
jects
or
be
trapped.'xAvoid
bulky
clothing.'xKeep
the
seat
belt
taut
by
occasionally
pulling upwards
on
the
upper
section.
Adjustment
for
automatic
retracting
seat
belts
'xPull
the
seat
belt
tongue
diagonally
across
the
body
and
push
it
into
the
belt
buckle
until it
audibly
engages
into
place.'xIt
is
important
to
adjust
the
belt
length
corjrectly.
To
adjust
the
lap
belt
and
checkwhether
the
belt
tongue
has
engaged
corj
rectly
in
the
buckle,
pull
upwards
on
the
shoulder
section
of
the
belt
until
the
lap
belt
fits
tightly.'xThe
diagonal
shoulder
strap
adjusts
automatj
ically
to
allow
freedom

Fastening
the
seat
belt
1.When
fastening
the
seat
belt,
guide
the
seat
belt
slowly
from
the
bracket.2.Insert
the
seat
belt
tongue
in

belt
buckle. The

belt
buckle
must
be
heard
to
enjgage.
If
fastened,
the
driver's
and
front
passenger's
seat
belts
are
automatically
tensioned
when
drivj
ing
off.

the

belt

back
up
to

Seat
belt
reminder
for
driver

front
passenger
seat
General The
seat
belt
reminder
is
activated
when
the
seat
belt
on
the
driver's
side
is
not
fastened.
For
some
country
specifications,
the
seat
belt
rej
minder
is
also
active
if
the
front
passenger
seat belt
is
not
fastened
and
heavy
objects
are
on
the
front
passenger
seat.

loosen
automatically,
stop
the
vehicle
and
unfasten
the

belt
by pressing

red
button
in

belt
buckle.

again

Front
head
restraints
General The
current
head
restraint
position
can
be
saved
with
the
memory
function,
see
page
111.
If
the
driver's
door
is
opened
when
the
drive-
ready
state
is
switched
off,
the
head
restraint
moves
into
the
home
position.
