'yIncorrect tyre storage.
Safety
notesWARNING
If the tyres are damaged, the tyre inflaj
tion pressure may be reduced which in turn
could cause you to lose control of the vehicle.
There is a danger of accidents. If you receive a
message indicating tyre damage while you are
driving, immediately reduce speed and bring the vehicle to a stop. Have the wheels and
tyres checked. To do so, carefully drive to a
Service Partner of the manufacturer or another
qualified Service Partner or a specialist workj
shop. If necessary, have the vehicle towed or
transported there.'

Recommended
makes
of
tyre
Certain makes of tyre are recommended by themanufacturer of the vehicle for each tyre size.
The tyre brands can be identified by a star on the side wall of the tyre.
New
tyres New tyres do not achieve their full road
grip immediately, for production reasons.
During the first 300 km, approximately200 miles, drive moderately.
Retreaded
tyres
The manufacturer of your vehicle advises
against the use of retreaded tyres.
WARNING
Retreaded tyres may have different tyre
carcasses. Their durability may be reduced with increasing age. There is a danger of accijdents. Do not use retreaded tyres.'

Mobility
SystemPrinciple
With the Mobility System, minor tyre damage can be quickly sealed, to allow you to drive on.
For this purpose, liquid sealant is pumped into the tyres which encloses the damage from the
inside when it hardens.
General'yPlease observe the notes on the applicaj tion of the Mobility System which are on
the compressor and the sealant container.'yApplying the Mobility System can be inefj
fective for tyre damage larger than approxij
mately 4 mm.'yContact a Service Partner of the manufacj turer or another qualified Service Partner or
a specialist workshop if you are unable to
put the tyre back in operation.'yIf possible, foreign matter that has penetraj ted the tyre should remain inside the tyre.
Only remove foreign objects if they are
visibly protruding from the tyre.'yRemove the speed limit sticker from the sealant container and attach to the steerj
ing wheel.'yUsing sealants can damage the TPM wheel
electronics. In this case, have the TPM wheel electronics replaced at the next opj
portunity.'yThe compressor can be used to check the
tyre inflation pressure.

The Mobility System is located under the boot
floor.

notes DANGER
A blocked exhaust pipe or inadequate
ventilation can allow harmful exhaust fumes to
penetrate the vehicle. The exhaust fumes conj
tain pollutants which are colourless and odourj
less. In enclosed spaces, the exhaust fumes can also build up outside the vehicle. There is
a danger of fatal injury. Keep the exhaust pipe
clear and ensure sufficient ventilation.'

Let the compressor run for approximately 10 minutes to fill the sealing compound andachieve a tyre inflation pressure of approxij

The tyre inflation pressure may rise to approxij
mately 5 bar during the filling process of the
sealing compound. Do not switch off the comj pressor during this step.
If it does not reach a tyre inflation pressure of
2 bar:1.Switch off compressor.2.Unplug the connector from the socket in the vehicle interior.3.Unscrew the filler hose from the tyre valve.4.Drive forwards and backwards by 10 m, apj
proximately 400 inches, to distribute the sealant in the tyre.5.Re-inflate the tyre with the compressor.
Contact a Service Partner of the manufacjturer or another qualified Service Partner or
a specialist workshop if the device does not reach a tyre inflation pressure of 2 bar.
Storing
Mobility
system
1.Unscrew the filler hose of the sealant conjtainer from the tyre valve.2.Unplug the compressor connector from
the socket in the vehicle interior.3.Remove the connecting hose of the comj pressor from the sealant container.4.Take the filler hose of the sealant containerthat was previously connected to the tyre
valve and connect it to the free connection on the sealant container.
This can prevent sealant residues escapj ing from the sealant container.5.Pack and store the sealant container to
avoid soiling the boot.6.Stow the Mobility System in the boot
again.
Spreading
sealant
compound
Immediately drive for approximately 10 km/5 miles to evenly distribute the sealing
compound in the tyre.
Do not exceed the permissible maximum speed of 80 km/h/50 mph.
If possible, do not drive slower than
20 km/h/12 mph.

Correcting
the
tyre
inflation
pressure1.Stop in a suitable area.2.Screw the connecting hose of the comjpressor directly onto the tyre valve.3.Insert the plug into the socket in the vehij
cle interior.4.Correct tyre inflation pressure to 2.5 bar.'yTo increase the tyre inflation pressure:
switch on the compressor with the enj gine running or the ignition switched
on.'yTo reduce tyre inflation pressure: press the button on the compressor.

Do not exceed maximum permitted speed of 80 km/h, approximately 50 mph.
Reinitialise the runflat indicator RPA.
Reset the Tyre Pressure Monitor TPM. Have the faulty tyre and the sealant container
of the Mobility System replaced at the next opj
portunity.
Snow
chains
Fine-link
snow
chains
The manufacturer of your vehicle recommends
using fine-link snow chains. Certain fine-link
snow chains have been tested, found safe for
use in traffic, and categorised as suitable by
the manufacturer of the vehicle.
Information regarding suitable snow chains is available from a Service Partner of the manuj
facturer or another qualified Service Partner or
a specialist workshop.
Using Snow chains may only be used in pairs on the
rear wheels with tyres of the following sizes:
'y255/40 R 18.'y255/35 R 19.Observe the snow chain manufacturer's inj
structions.
Do not initialise the runflat indicator RPA with snow chains fitted, as it may give incorrect
readings.
Do not reset the Tyre Pressure Monitor TPM with snow chains fitted, as it may give incorrect
readings.
When driving with snow chains, activate M Dyj
namic Mode briefly if necessary.
Maximum
speed
with
snow
chains
When snow chains are fitted, do not exceed 50 km/h, 30 mph.
Wheel
change
General When using a flat tyre kit, it is not always necjessary to change a wheel immediately if tyreinflation pressure is lost due to a flat tyre.
If required, the tools for changing wheels are
available as optional accessories from a Servj
ice Partner of the manufacturer, another qualij fied Service Partner or a specialist workshop.
Safety
notes DANGER
The jack is only intended for raising the
vehicle briefly during a wheel change. Even if the safety measures are complied with, there is
a risk of the raised vehicle falling over due to the jack slipping. There is a danger of injury or
even death. If the vehicle is raised with the jack, do not lie underneath the vehicle and do
not start the engine.'
