Audio settings
The audio system is preset for optimal sound reproduction, but can be adapted according toneeds.
The volume is normally adjusted with the volume control below the centre display or with the right-hand steering wheel keypad.
Setting for optimal sound reproductionThe audio system is pre-calibrated for optimumsound reproduction by means of digital signalprocessing. This calibration takes into accountloudspeakers, amplifiers, passenger compartmentacoustics, listener position, etc., for each combi-nation of car model and audio system. There isalso a dynamic calibration that takes into accountthe setting of the volume control and vehiclespeed. Audio settings are described in the correspond- ing section in the owner information. To accessthe settings, open the top view and tap on
SettingsSound.
Active noise reduction *Certain cars are equipped with an active noise reduction function that suppresses engine noisein the passenger compartment via the audio sys-tem. Microphones in the car's roof detect disrup-tive noise and the audio system outputs anti-noise in order to dampen the noise.

• The tyre pressure is above the limit value for a warning.
Yellow tyre:
• The tyre's pressure is too low. Stop andcheck/rectify the tyre pressure as soon aspossible. Calibrate ITPMS after the tyre pres-sure has been adjusted.
All tyres yellow:
• The pressure is too low in two or more tyres.Stop and check/rectify the tyre pressures assoon as possible. Calibrate ITPMS after thetyre pressures have been adjusted. All tyres grey:

Wheel bolts
Wheel bolts are used to attach the wheels to the hubs.
IMPORTANT
The wheel bolts must be tightened to 140 Nm. Overtightening or loose tightening maydamage the nuts and the bolts.
Only use rims that are tested and approved by Volvo and which are Volvo genuine accessories. Check the tightening torque of the wheel bolts with a torque wrench. Do not use lubricant on the threads of the wheel
bolts.
Locking wheel bolts *In the foam block under the cargo area floor there is space for the sleeve for the lockablewheel bolts.

Spare wheel
*
The spare wheel, the Temporary spare type, can be used to temporarily replace a punctured nor-mal wheel.
The illustration is schematic - the shape of the foam block may vary depending on car model.
The spare wheel is located in the spare wheel well with the outside down. The same bolt runsthrough to secure the spare wheel and the foamblock. The foam block contains all tools forchanging a wheel, see the section "Tool kit". The car's handling may be altered by the use of the spare wheel. The spare wheel must bereplaced by a normal wheel as soon as possible. The spare wheel is smaller than the regular wheel, which will affect the car's ground clear-ance. Pay attention to high kerbs and do notmachine wash the car. •
Follow the manufacturer's recommended tyrepressure for the spare wheel.
• On all-wheel drive cars the drive on the rearaxle can be disconnected.
• If the spare wheel is fitted on the front axle, itis not possible to use snow chains at thesame time.
• The spare wheel must not be repaired.
IMPORTANT
• Never drive faster than 80 km/h (50 mph) with a spare wheel on the car.
• The car must never be driven fitted withmore than one "Temporary Spare" wheel.
Taking out the spare wheel1. Fold up the cargo area floor, from the rear
and forwards.
2. Undo the retaining screw.
3. Lift out the foam block with its tools.
4. Lift out the spare wheel.
Storing the punctured tyre1. Put the tools back in the foam block and lift the foam block back into the car.
2. Screw in the foam block using the mounting screws and then fold down the cargo area floor.
3. Place the punctured tyre in the cargo area.

Winter wheels
Winter wheels are adapted for winter road con- ditions.
Volvo recommends winter tyres with particular dimensions. Tyre dimensions are dependent onengine variant. When driving on winter tyres, thecorrect type of tyres must be fitted to all fourwheels.
NOTE
Contact a Volvo dealer for advice about which wheel rim and type of tyre are most suitable.
Tips for changing to winter tyresWhen summer and winter wheels are changed, mark which side of the car they were mounted on, for example L for left and R for right.
Studded tyresStudded winter tyres should be run in gently for 500-1000 km so the studs settle properly intothe tyres. This gives the tyre, and especially thestuds, a longer service life.
NOTE
The legal provisions for the use of studded tyres vary from country to country.
Tread depthRoad conditions with ice, slush and low tempera- tures place considerably higher demands on tyresthan summer conditions. Volvo therefore recom-mends not to drive on winter tyres that have atread depth of less than 4 mm.
Snow chainsVolvo recommends that snow chains are notused on wheel dimensions greater than18 inches. Mounting instructions are supplied with Volvo original snow chains. Snow chains may only be used on the front wheels (also applies to all-wheel drive cars).Never drive faster than 50 km/h (30 mph) withsnow chains. Avoid driving on bare ground as thiswears out both the snow chains and tyres.
WARNING
Use Volvo genuine snow chains or equivalent chains designed for the car model, and tyre and rim dimensions. Only single-sided snow
chains are permitted. In the event of uncertainty about the show chain, Volvo recommends that an authorisedVolvo workshop should be contacted. Thewrong snow chains may cause serious dam-age to the car and lead to an accident.

Inspection and service of the system for vehicle gas
*5
The system for vehicle gas must be inspected regularly by an authorised workshop - an author-ised Volvo workshop is recommended.
WARNING
The gas is compressed to high pressure. This system must only be serviced and repaired byan authorised workshop. Never attempt to disassemble or adjust the gas system or its component parts yourself-risk of serious personal injury.
