Setting the climate mode
By settingthe climate mode you determine the
type of airflow. The settingisa ctive when the air-
conditioning system is set to Ã

XCall up the climate control menu
(Ypage 262).
XTo select Climate Mode:turn and press the
controller.
XTo change the setting: turn the controller.
Exiting amenu:
XPress the %button.
The current airflow settingiss hown in the cli-
mate control bar: DIFFUSE
,MEDIUMor FOCUS.
Starting/stopping the perfume atomizer
The perfume atomizer makes it possible to scent
the air in individual compartments in the vehicle
interior. Further information (
Ypage 126).
XCall up the climate control menu
(Ypage 262).
XTo select AirFreshener:turn and press the
controller.
The settinge lement is active.
XTo start/stop the perfume atomizer: press
the controller.
XTo set the intensity: turn the controller when
the atomizer is switched on.
Exiting amenu:
XPress the %button.
Switching the ionization on/off
The ionization has acleansing effect on the air in
the vehicle interior. Further information
(
Ypage 128).
XCall up the climate control menu
(Ypage 262).
XTo select Ionization:turn and press the
controller.
The settinge lement is active.
XTo switch the ionization on/off:p ress the
controller.

Switching cooling with air dehumidifica-
tion on/off
XCall up the climate control menu

XSwitch cooling with air dehumidification on
O or off ª.
iThe current status of the cooling function is
displayed in the climate control bar: A/C ON
–a ctivated, A/C OFF –deactivated.
iDeactivating the cooling with air dehumidi-
fication function reduces fuel consumption.
Synchronizing the climate control set-
tings
Use OSync(synchronization) to select the cli-
mate control settingf or all zones togetherOor
separately ª.
XCall up the climate control menu

XSlide6the controller repeatedly until the
bottom bar is activated.
XTo select OSync:turn and press the con-
troller.
XSwitch the synchronization function on Oor

Navigation mode
Important safety notes
GWARNING
If you operate information systems and com-
munication equipment integrated in the vehi-
cle while driving, you will be distracted from
traffic conditions. You could also lose control
of the vehicle. There is arisk of an accident.
Only operate the equipment when the traffic
situation permits. If you are not sure that this

You must observe the legal requirements for the

operating the navigation system.
General notes
Among other things, correctf unctioning of the
navigation system depends on GPS reception. In
certain situations ,GPS receptio nmay be
impaired,t here may be interference or there
may be no receptio natall, e.g. in tunnels or
parking garages.
Audio 20 is equipped with MARGIN
®MAP PILOT
(see the manufacturer'so perating instructions).
The Garmin
®MAP PILOTo perating instructions

muted.
The mobile phone is no longer connected to the
multimedia system.
However, if you want to use your mobile phone,
do so only when the vehicle is stationary and in

Downloading destinations
Downloading destinations
Downloading destinations gives you access to a
database with over 15 million points of interest
(POIs). These can be downloaded on the navi-
gation system in your vehicle. If you know the
destination, the address can be downloaded.
Alternatively, you can obtain the location of
Points of Interest (POIs)/important destinations
in the vicinity.
Furthermore, you can download routes with up
to four way points.
You are prompted to confirm route guidance to
the address entered.

The system calculates the route and subse-
quently start sthe route guidance with the
address entered.
If you select No
the address can be stored in
the address book.
The destination download function is available

ble and data transfer is possible.
Route Assistance
This service is part of the mbrace PLUS Package
and cannot be purchased separately. You can use the route assistance function even
if the vehicle is not equipped with anavigation
system.
Within the framework of this service, you receive
ap rofessional and reliable form of navigation
support without having to leave your vehicle.
The customer service representative finds a
suitable route depending on your vehicle's cur-
rent position and the desired destination. You
will then be guided live through the current route
section.
Search &Send
General notes
To use "Search &Send", your vehicle must be
equipped with mbrace and anavigation system.
Additionally, an mbrace service subscription
must be completed.
"Search &Send" is adestination entr yservice. A
destination address which is found on Google
Maps
®can be transferred via mbrace directly to
your vehicle's navigation system.
Specifying and sending the destination
address
XGo to the website http://maps.google.com
and enter adestination address into the entry
field.
XTo send the destination address to the e-
mail address of your mbrace account:
click on the corresponding button on the web-
site.
Example:
If you select 'Send to vehicle' and then
'Mercedes-Benz', the destination address will
be sent to your vehicle.
XWhen the "Send" dialog window appears:
Enter the e-mail address you specified when
setting up your mbrace account into the cor-
responding field.
XClick "Send".
Information on specific commands such as
"Address entry" or "Send" can be found on the
website.
Calling up atransmitted destination

The vehicl ecan be immediately remotely locked
within fourd aysoft he ignition being turne doff.
After this time ,remote closing may be delayed
by 15 to 60 minutes .After 30 days the vehicle
can no longer be locked remotely.
The vehicl eremote closing feature is available if
the relevant mobil ephone network is available
and adatac onnection is possible.

Mercedes-Benz CustomerA ssistance Center
together with your PIN.
The Mercedes-Benz CustomerA ssistance
Center then trie stolocate the system. The
Mercedes-Benz CustomerA ssistance Center
contacts yo uand the local la wenforcement
agency if the vehicl eislocated.
However, only the la wenforcement agency is
informed of the location of the vehicle.
If the anti-theft alarm system is activate dfor
longer than 30 seconds ,the Mercedes-Benz
CustomerA ssistance Center is automatically
notified.
