Damage to th eengineore xhaust system is
caused by th efollowing:
Rusinge ngineo ils and oil filters that have not
been specifically approved for th eservice
system
Rreplacin gengineo il and oil filters after the
interval for replacements pecifiedbythe
servic esystem has been exceeded
Rusinge ngineo il additives.
!Do no tadd to omucho il. addingt oomuch
engineo il can result in damagetot heengine
or to th ecatalyti cconverter. Hav eexcess
engineo il siphoned off.
Example
XTurn cap :counter-clockwise and remove it.
XAdde ngineo il.
If th eoil leve lisatorb elow theMIN mar kon
th eo il dipstick ,add 1. 1USq t(1.0 l)of engine
oil.
XReplace cap :on the filler neck and turn
clockwise.
Ensure that the cap locks into place securely.
XCheck the oil level again with the oil dipstick
(Ypage 289).
