Launch Control (ManualTransmissions Only)
This feature is available in TrackDriver Mode, and allows the vehicleto reach high levels of accelerationin a straight line. Launch Controladjusts tire slip during standing startlaunches. Use this feature duringclosed course race events whereconsistent zero to sixty and quartermile times are desirable.
Launch Control is onlyavailable when:
.Track Driver Mode is selected.
.The vehicle is not moving.
.The steering wheel is pointingstraight.
.The clutch pedal is pressed andthe vehicle is in 1 (First) gear.
.The accelerator pedal is rapidlyapplied to wide open throttle.
This feature initially limits enginespeed as the accelerator pedal israpidly pressed to wide openthrottle. A smooth, quick release ofthe clutch pedal, while maintainingthe fully pressed accelerator pedal, will manage wheel slip. SeeManualTr a n s m i s s i o n0240.

Unnecessary Alerts
FCA may provide unnecessaryalerts for turning vehicles, vehiclesin other lanes, objects that are notvehicles, or shadows. These alertsare normal operation and thevehicle does not need service.
Cleaning the System
If the FCA system does not seem tooperate properly, cleaning theoutside of the windshield in front ofthe camera sensor and the front ofthe vehicle may correct the issue.
Side Blind Zone
Alert (SBZA)
If equipped, the SBZA system is alane-changing aid that assistsdrivers with avoiding crashes thatoccur with moving vehicles in theside blind zone (or spot) areas. TheSBZA warning display will light up in
the corresponding outside sidemirror and will flash if the turn signalis on.
{Warning
SBZA does not alert the driver to
vehicles rapidly approaching
outside of the side blind zones,
pedestrians, bicyclists,
or animals. It may not provide
alerts when changing lanes under
all driving conditions. Failure to
use proper care when changing
lanes may result in injury, death,
or vehicle damage. Before
making a lane change, always
check mirrors, glance over your
shoulder, and use the turn
signals.
SBZA Detection Zones
The SBZA sensor covers a zone ofapproximately one lane over fromboth sides of the vehicle, or 3.5 m(11 ft). The height of the zone isapproximately between 0.5 m (1.5 ft)and 2 m (6 ft) off the ground. Thiszone starts at approximately themiddle of the vehicle and goes back5m (16ft).
How the System Works
The SBZA symbol lights up in theside mirrors when the systemdetects a moving vehicle in the nextlane over that is in the side blindzone. This indicates it may be

When the vehicle is started, bothoutside mirror SBZA displays willbriefly come on to indicate thesystem is operating. When thevehicle is in a forward gear, the left-or right-side mirror display will lightup if a moving vehicle is detected inthat blind zone. If the turn signal isactivated in the same direction of adetected vehicle, this display willflash as an extra warning not tochange lanes.
SBZA can be disabled throughvehicle personalization. See“Collision/Detection Systems”underVehicle Personalization0120.If SBZA is disabled by the driver, the SBZA mirror displays will notlight up.
When the System Does Not
Seem to Work Properly
SBZA displays may not come onwhen passing a vehicle quickly orfor a stopped vehicle. SBZA mayalert to objects attached to thevehicle, such as a bicycle, or objectextending out to either side of thevehicle. This is normal systemoperation; the vehicle does not needservice.
SBZA may not always alert thedriver to vehicles in the side blindzone, especially in wet conditions. The system does not need to beserviced. The system may light updue to guardrails, signs, trees, shrubs, and other non-movingobjects. This is normal systemoperation; the vehicle does not needservice.
SBZA may not operate when theSBZA sensors in the left or rightcorners of the rear bumper arecovered with mud, dirt, snow, ice,or slush, or in heavy rainstorms. Forcleaning instructions, see "Washingthe Vehicle" underExterior Care0338.IftheDICstilldisplaysthesystem unavailable message aftercleaning both sides of the vehicletoward the rear corners of thevehicle, see your dealer.
If the SBZA displays do not light upwhen vehicles are in the blind zoneand the system is clean, the systemmay need service. Take the vehicleto your dealer.
When SBZA is disabled for anyreason other than the driver turningit off, the Side Blind Zone Alert Onoption will not be available on thepersonalization menu.
