CAUTION
■Using tires of a different size
Do not use tires of a different size from those equipped when the vehicle was new,
as the front tire steering angle setting is designed for the original tire size. It is dan-
gerous to use an incorrect wheel and tire combination as this may result in reduced
vehicle stability.
■When initializing the tire pressure warning system (vehicles with the tire pressure
warning system)
Do not operate the tire pressure warning reset switch without first adjusting the tire
inflation pressure to the specified level. Otherwise, the tire pressure warning light
may not come on even if the tire inflation pressure is low, or it may come on when
the tire inflation pressure is actually normal.
■Caution regarding interference with electronic devices (vehicles with the tire
pressure warning system)
●Users of any electrical medical device other than implantable cardiac pacemak-
ers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter
defibrillators should consult the manufacturer of the device for information about
its operation under the influence of radio waves.
Radio waves could have unexpected effects on the operation of such medical
devices.
●People with implantable cardiac pacemak-
ers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-
pacemakers or implantable cardioverter
defibrillators should not come within 450
mm (17.7 in.) of the tire pressure warning
system initiators. The radio waves may
affect the operation of such devices.

The following warning indicates a possible problem in the brake system.
Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place and contact your Lexus
dealer.
If a warning light turns on or a warning buzzer
sounds
Calmly perform the following actions if any of the warning lights comes
on or flashes. If a light comes on or flashes, but then goes off, this does
not necessarily indicate a malfunction in the system. However, if this
continues to occur, have the vehicl e inspected by your Lexus dealer.
Stop the vehicle immediately. Cont inuing to drive the vehicle may
be dangerous.

The following warning indicates the possibility of damage to the vehicle
that may lead to an accident. Immediately stop the vehicle in a safe place
and contact your Lexus dealer.
Failure to investigate the cause of the following warnings may lead to the
system operating abnormally and possibly cause an accident. Have the
vehicle inspected by your Lexus dealer immediately.

• The SRS airbag system;
• The front passenger occupant classification system (if
equipped);
• The seat belt pretensioner system; or
• The active head restraints system
ABS warning light
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The ABS; or
• The brake assist system
Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steering)
system

Pre-crash safety system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the pre-crash safety system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the system
is not malfunctioning:
• The light will flash quickly when the system is operating.

• The light will turn on when the pre-crash braking is disabled.
( P. 363, 370)
• The light will turn on when the system cannot temporarily be
used.
Slip indicator
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The VSC system;
•The TRC system;
•The ABS; or
• The hill-start assist control system
The light will flash when the VS C, the TRC, the ABS or the hill-
start assist control system is operating. ( P. 362)

Indicates a malfunction in the brake hold system

Indicates a malfunction in the electric parking brake

After taking the specified steps to correct the suspected problem, check
that the warning light goes off.
Follow the correction procedures.

Tire pressure warning light
When the light comes on:
Low tire inflation pressure
such as
• Natural causes ( P. 612)
• Flat tire ( P. 618)
Adjust the tire inflation pressure
(including the spare tire) to the
specified level.
The light will turn off after a
few minutes. In case the light
does not turn off even if the
tire inflation pressure is
adjusted, have the system
checked by your Lexus
dealer.
When the light comes on
after blinking for 1 minute:

■Speed warning buzzer (if equipped)
The buzzer indicates that your vehicle speed reaches or exceeds 120 km/h (75
mph).
At this time, warning message will appear on the multi-information display.

■Front passenger detection sensor, seat belt reminder and warning buzzer
●If luggage is placed on the front passenger seat, the front passenger detection sen-
sor may cause the warning light to flash and the warning buzzer to sound even if a
passenger is not sitting in the seat.
●If a cushion is placed on the seat, the sensor may not detect a passenger, and the
warning light may not operate properly.
■Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
When the battery charge becomes insufficient of the voltage temporarily drops, the
electric power steering system warning light may come on and the warning buzzer
may sound.
■If the malfunction indicator lamp comes on while driving (for Korea)
First check the following:
●Is the fuel tank empty?
If it is, fill the fuel tank immediately.
●Is the fuel tank cap loose?
If it is, tighten it securely.
The light will go off after several driving trips.
If the light does not go off even after several trips, contact your Lexus dealer as soon
as possible.
■If the malfunction indicator lamp come s on while driving (except for Korea)
For some models, the malfunction indicator lamp will come on if the fuel tank
becomes completely empty. If the fuel tank is empty, refuel the vehicle immediately.
The malfunction indicator lamp will go off after several trips.
If the malfunction indicator lamp does not go off, contact your Lexus dealer as soon
as possible.
