SPEEDOMETER (SPEED
INDICATOR)
Indicator J shows the speed of the car.
REV COUNTER
Light C shows the engine revs.
FUEL LEVEL GAUGE
Gauge G shows the amount of fuel in
the tank.
The switching on of the
digital
warning light indicates that 4–5 litres of
fuel are left in the tank; in this situation,
refuel as soon as possible.
Do not travel with the fuel tank almost
empty: any gaps in fuel delivery could
damage the catalytic converter.
ENGINE COOLANT
TEMPERATURE
INDICATOR
Indicator A shows the temperature of
the engine coolant and starts supplying
indications when the fluid temperature
exceeds approximately 50°C.
The
digital warning light may switch
on (together with a message on the
display) to indicate that the coolant
temperature is too high; in this case,
stop the engine and contact a
dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership.
GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR
The GSI (Gear Shift Indicator) system
advises the driver to change gear
through a specific indication E fig. 59 on
the instrument panel.Through the GSI, the driver is notified
that changing gear will allow a reduction
in fuel consumption.
Therefore, for driving oriented towards
reducing fuel consumption, it is
advisable to stick to “Natural” or “All
Weather” mode and to follow the
suggestions of the Gear Shift Indicator,
where traffic conditions permit.
When the (
) icon is displayed on the
instrument panel, the GSI suggests
switching to a higher gear, while when
the (
) icon is displayed, the GSI
suggests changing to a lower gear.
IMPORTANT The GSI is not active
when the transmission is operating in
AUTO mode.
IMPORTANT The indication in the
instrument panel remains on until the
driver shifts gear or the driving
conditions go back to a situation where
gearshifting is not required to improve
consumption.

TRIP COMPUTER
The Trip computer is used to display
information on car operation when the
key is turned to MAR-ON.
This function is characterised by two
separate records, called "Trip A" and
"Trip B", where the car's "complete
missions" (journeys) are recorded in a
reciprocally independent manner.
Both records can be reset: i.e. start of a
new journey.
“Trip A” is used to display the values
relating to:
Range
Distance travelled
Average consumption
Instant consumption
Average speed
Trip time (driving time).
“Trip B” is used to display the values
relating to:
Distance travelled B
Average consumption B
Average speed B
Trip time B (driving time).
“Trip B” may be disabled (see "Trip B
Activation/Data (Trip B enablement)"
paragraph). The “Range” and “Instant
consumption" values cannot be reset.
VALUES DISPLAYED
Range
This indicates the approximate distance
that can still be travelled with the fuel in
the tank, assuming that driving style
remains unvaried.
The display will show the reading “- - -
-” when the following events take place:
range value lower than 50 km (or 30
mi)
car parked with engine running for a
long period.
IMPORTANT The range value variation
can be affected by several factors:
driving style, type of route (motorway,
urban, mountain roads, etc.), conditions
of use (load, tyre pressures, etc.). Trip
planning must therefore take the above
into account.
Distance travelled
This value shows the distance covered
from the start of the new journey.
Average consumption
This value shows the approximate
average fuel consumption from the start
of the new journey.
Instant consumption
This value shows the instant fuel
consumption. The value is constantly
updated. The display will show “- - - -”
if the car is parked with the engine
running.

EBD FAILURE
The simultaneous switching on of the
(red) and
(amber) warning lights with the engine on, indicates
either a failure of the EBD system or that the system is
not available. In this case, the rear wheels may suddenly
lock and the vehicle may swerve when braking sharply.
The display shows the dedicated message.Drive very carefully to the nearest dedicated Alfa Romeo
Dealership to have the system inspected immediately.
redAIRBAG FAILURE
When the key is turned to MAR-ON, the warning light
switches on but should switch off after a few seconds.
The warning light stays on constantly if there is a fault in
the airbag system.
The display shows the dedicated message.
redSEAT BELTS NOT FASTENED
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The warning light switches on constantly with the car
stationary if the driver’s seat belt is not fastened.
The warning light flashes and a buzzer will sound if the
car is in motion and the driver’s seat belt is not correctly
fastened. For permanent deactivation of the SBR (Seat Belt
Reminder) system buzzer, contact the dedicated Alfa
Romeo Dealership. The system can be reactivated
using the Setup Menu.
WARNING
59)If thewarning light does not switch on when the key is turned to MAR or if it stays on when driving (together with the message on the
display), there may be a fault in the restraint systems; in this case, the airbags or pretensioners may not deploy in the event of an accident or,
in a lower number of cases, they could deploy erroneously. Before proceeding, contact a dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership to have the
system checked immediately.

amberINJECTION/EOBD SYSTEM FAILURE
In normal conditions, when the ignition key is turned to MAR-ON
the warning light switches on, but should switch off as soon as
the engine is started.
The operation of the
warning light may be checked by the traffic police using specific
devices. Comply with the laws and regulations of the country
where you are driving.
If the warning light stays on or switches on when driving, it means
that the injection system is not working properly; in particular, if
the warning light comes on constantly, this indicates a
malfunction in the supply/ignition system that could cause
excessive exhaust emissions, a possible loss of performance,
poor driveability and high fuel consumption.
On some versions, the display shows the dedicated
message.
The warning light switches off if the malfunction
disappears, but it is still stored by the system.
Under these conditions, you may continue
travelling at a moderate speed without
demanding excessive effort from the engine.
Prolonged use of the car with the warning light
on constantly may cause damage.
Contact the dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership
as soon as possible.
If the warning light flashes, it means that the catalytic converter
may be damaged. In this case, it is necessary to release the
accelerator pedal to lower the speed of the
engine until the warning light stops flashing.
Continue the journey at moderate speed, trying
to avoid driving conditions that may cause
further flashing and contact the dedicated Alfa
Romeo Dealership as soon as possible.

amberELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) SYSTEM
When the ignition key is turned to MAR-ON, the
warning light switches on, but should switch off as soon
as the engine is started.
Intervention by the system is indicated by the flashing of
the warning light: it indicates that the car is in critical
stability and grip conditions.
If the warning light does not switch off, or if it stays on
with the engine running, ESC system malfunction has
been detected.Contact the dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership as soon
as possible to have the problem diagnosed and
resolved.
Hill Holder failure
The warning light switches on together with the
digital warning light and corresponding message on the
display to indicate Hill Holder system failure. In this case, contact the dedicated Alfa Romeo

redLOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE
When the key is turned to MAR, the digital warning light switches on, but it should
switch off as soon as the engine is started.
The digital warning light switches on constantly together with the message in the
display when the system detects that the engine oil pressure is insufficient.
6)
ENGINE OIL DETERIORATED
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The digital warning light will flash and a specific message will appear on the
display (for versions/markets, where provided).
The digital warning light may flash in the following ways, depending on the
versions:
- for 1 minute every two hours;
- for 3 minute cycles with the warning light off for intervals of 5 seconds until
oil is changed.
After the initial warning, each time the engine is started up, the digital
warning light will continue to flash in the same mode, until the oil is
changed. A specific message will appear on the display (for versions/
markets, where provided) in addition to the warning light. If the digital
warning light flashes, this does not mean that the car is defective, but
simply informs the driver that it is now necessary to change the oil as a
result of regular vehicle use. Remember that the deterioration of engine oil
is accelerated by using the car for short drives, preventing the engine from
reaching operating temperature.
