54)The tyre repair kit (Fix&Go) provided
with the car (for versions/markets, where
provided) is compatible with the TPMS
sensors; using sealants not equivalent with
that in the original kit may adversely affect
its operation. If sealants not equivalent with
the original one are used, it is
recommended to have the TPMS sensors
checked by a qualified repair centre.REFUELLING THE
CAR
The car features the "Fast Fuel" system,
which prevents refuelling with incorrect
fuels (e.g. diesel for a petrol engine).
Stop the engine before refuelling.
Only refuel with unleaded petrol with
octane rating (RON) not less than 95, in
compliance with the European
specification EN228. In particular, the
4C’s engine has been designed to
comply with all emission limits while
simultaneously guaranteeing minimal
consumption and maximum
performance, using premium-quality
unleaded petrol with octane rating
(RON) of 98 or higher.
In order to prevent damage to the
catalytic converter never introduce even
the smallest amount of leaded petrol,
even in the event of an emergency.
IMPORTANT An inefficient catalytic
converter leads to harmful exhaust
emissions, thus contributing to air
pollution.
IMPORTANT Never introduce leaded
petrol to the tank, even in small
amounts in an emergency, as this
would damage the catalytic converter
beyond repair.
FILLING THE TANK
To ensure that you fill the tank
completely, top up twice after the first
click of the fuel supply gun. Avoid
further top-ups, which could cause
faults in the fuel supply system.
REFUELLING
PROCEDURE
The car features a "Fast Fuel" device,
integrated with the opening for the fuel
tank: it opens and recloses
automatically when the fuel supply gun
is inserted/removed.
The "Fast Fuel" device is provided with
an inhibitor which prevents refuelling
with incorrect fuel.
The refuelling procedure described
below is illustrated on the label
fig. 56 located inside the fuel flap. The
label also indicates the fuel type
(UNLEADED FUEL=petrol).

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CAR
PROTECTING THE
ENVIRONMENT
The following devices are used for
reducing petrol fuel engine emissions:
catalytic converter, oxygen sensors and
evaporation control system.
Do not let the engine run, even for a
test, with one or more spark plugs
disconnected.
58)
WARNING
58)Under operating conditions, the
catalytic converter becomes very hot.
Therefore, do not park the car on
flammable materials (grass, dry leaves,
pine needles etc.) to avoid the risk of fire.

amberTPMSIMPORTANT Do not continue driving with one or more
flat tyres as handling may be compromised. Stop the
car, avoiding sharp braking and steering. Repair
immediately using the dedicated kit (see "Repairing a
wheel" paragraph in the "In an emergency" chapter)
and contact the dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership as
soon as possible.
TPMS failure
The warning light switches on when a fault is
detected in the TPMS.
Should one or more wheels be fitted without
sensors, the display will show a warning message
until initial conditions are restored.
In this case, contact the dedicated Alfa Romeo
Dealership as soon as possible.
Low tyre pressure - See manual
The warning light switches on, together with a
dedicated message on the display, to indicate that
the tyre pressure is lower than the recommended
value and/or that slow pressure loss is occurring. In
these circumstances, optimal tyre duration and fuel
consumption may not be guaranteed.
Should two or more tyres be in the condition
mentioned above, the display will show the
indications corresponding to each tyre in sequence.
In any situation in which the message on the display is
"See manual", it is ESSENTIAL to refer to the contents
of the "Wheel" paragraph in the "Technical data"
chapter, strictly complying with the indications that
you find there.

amberFUEL RESERVE/LIMITED RANGE
The digital warning light switches on in the display when
about 4–5 litres of fuel are left in the tank.
63)
amberFUEL RESERVE/LIMITED RANGE SENSOR FAULT
The digital warning light switches on in the display when
a fuel reserve sensor fault is detected. The display
shows the dedicated message.Contact a dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership as soon as
possible.
greenCRUISE CONTROL
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The digital warning light switches on in the display when
the ignition key is turned to MAR, but it should switch
off after a few seconds, if the Cruise Control is
deactivated.
The digital warning light switches on when the Cruise
Control ring nut is turned to the ON position (see the
“Cruise Control” paragraph in the "Knowing your car"
chapter).
The display shows the dedicated message.
greenDOOR MIRROR DEMISTING/DEFROSTING
The digital warning light switches on in the display when
the buttonon the control panel is pressed.

GENERAL FAILURE
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The symbol lights up in the display in the circumstances
indicated below.
Engine oil pressure sensor failure
The symbol lights up when the engine oil pressure
sensor is faulty. The display shows the dedicated
message. In this case contact a dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership
to have the fault fixed as soon as possible.
Clutch overheating message
The
symbol, together with a message on the display,
lights up to indicate clutch overheating.
If the driver continues, thesymbol will switch
off and the
warning light will light up (on some
versions together with a message on the display)
to indicate a transmission failure.
If thesymbol lights up along with a message on the
display, reduce gear shifting and/or change usage
conditions, until the normal operating conditions are
restored.
If the
warning light lights up (a message will appear
on the display, on some versions) stop immediately,
operate the handbrake, switch off the engine and wait 5
minutes: after this, normal transmission operating
conditions will be restored.
Should the transmission failure condition persist,
contact the dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership
FUEL CUT-OFF
The symbol and the corresponding message are shown
on the display in the following cases:
fuel cut-off system intervention: the yellow
symbol lights up;
fuel cut-off system failure: the red symbol
lights up.
For the fuel cut-off system reactivation procedure, refer
to the "Fuel Cut-Off System" section of the "Controls"
paragraph, in the "Knowing your car" chapter. If it is still
not possible to restore the fuel supply, contact a
dedicated Alfa Romeo Dealership.

LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT OPEN
The symbol and the corresponding message are shown
on the display.
POSSIBLE ICE ON ROAD
The symbol and corresponding message appear on the
display when the outside temperature is below or equal
to 3°C.
IMPORTANT In the event of outside temperature sensor
failure, the digits that indicate the value are replaced by
dashes.
BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE
The symbol and corresponding message appear on the
display if a fault is detected in the brake lights. The fault may be caused by a blown bulb, a blown
protection fuse or an interruption of the electrical
connection.
PARKING SENSOR FAILURE
The symbol and corresponding message appear on the
display if there is a parking sensor failure.
DISPLAY OF SELECTED DRIVING MODE (“Alfa DNA”
system)
A letter (d, n, or a) corresponding to the active driving
mode (dynamic or race, normal, all weather) and a
dedicated message are shown on the display.
