Removing a wheel

Parking the vehicle
Immobilise the vehicle where it does not block traffic: the ground must be level,

table and non-slippery ground.
Apply
the parking brake unless it has

een programmed to automatic mode,

witch off the ignition and engage first

ear* to lock the wheels.
Check
that the braking warning lamps
i
n the instrument panel are on (not
f
lashing).
The
occupants must get out of the
v
ehicle and wait where they are safe.
If
necessary, place a chock under the
w
heel diagonally opposite the wheel to
be c
hanged.
Never
go underneath a vehicle raised
u
sing a jack; use an axle stand.

Charging the battery using
a battery charger
F Disconnect the battery from the vehicle.
F F ollow the instructions for use provided by
the
manufacturer of the charger.
F

onnect the battery starting with the
n
egative terminal (-).
F
C
heck that the terminals and connectors
a
re clean. If they are covered
w
ith
s
ulphate
(
whitish or greenish deposit), remove them
a
nd clean them.
Reinitialisation after
reconnection
after any reconnection of the battery, switch on
the ignition and wait at least one minute before
s
tarting, to allow time for the initialisation of the
e
lectronic systems.
By
referring to the corresponding sections, you
s
hould set or initialise the following systems
y
ourself:
-
o
ne-touch electric windows,
-
t
ime and date,
-
a
udio and navigation system settings.
Check
that no alert message or warning lamp
c
omes on after switching on the ignition.
However,
if minor problems persist after
c
arrying out these operations, contact a
C
ITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
Reconnecting the (+) cable
F Position the open clamp E of the cable on
the positive post (+) of the battery.
F
P
ress vertically on the clamp E to position
it
correctly on the battery.
F
L
ock the clamp by spreading the
p
ositioning lug and then lowering the tab D.
Disconnecting the (+) cable
F Raise the locking tab D fully to release the
cable t erminal c lamp E.
D
o not apply excessive force on the
t
ab as locking will not be possible if the
c
lamp is not positioned correctly; start
t
he procedure again. With Stop & Start, the battery does not
have
to be disconnected for charging.

Towing the vehicle
The towing eye is installed in the boot under the floor.
To
gain access to it:

The
driver
must
remain
at
the
wheel
of
the

and
must
have
a
valid
driving

icence.
When
towing

vehicle
with
all
four
wheels

n
the
ground,
always
use
an
approved

owing
arm;
rope
and
straps
are
prohibited.
The
towing
vehicle
must
move
off
gently.
When
towing
a
vehicle
with
the
engine
off,

here
is
no
longer
any
power
assistance
for

raking
or
steering.

This towbar allows the towball to be fitted and
removed quickly and easily without the use

Before each use
Check that the towball is correctly fitted by verifying the following points:
- t he towball is correctly locked in place (position A),
-
t
he security key lock is on and the key removed; the locking wheel can no longer be
ope
rated,
-
t
he towball must no longer move at all in its carrier; try to shake it by hand.
During use
Never unlock the device when a trailer or load carrier is fitted to the towball.
N ever exceed the maximum authorised weight for the vehicle plus trailer (Gross Train
W
eight - GTW).
After use
For journeys made without a trailer or load carrier, the trailer harness socket must be folded away, the towball removed and the blanking plug inserted in the carrier. This measure
a
pplies particularly if the towball could hinder visibility of the number plate or lighting.

Fitting the towball
Remove the protective plug from the carrier and check the condition of the fixing system.
I
f necessary, clean the carrier with a brush or
clean
cloth.
Take
the towball from the storage bag.
Remove
the protective cover from the ball and
t
he protective cap from the locking wheel.
Stow
the plug, cover and cap in the storage
b
ag.
Check
that the towball is unlocked (position B).
I
f not, insert the key in the lock and turn the key
a
nti-clockwise to unlock the mechanism.Take
the towball in both hands; insert the end o
f the towball into the carrier by lifting it, then,
t
o ensure that it has correctly locked in place,
p
ull firmly down on the ball end of the towball.
The
locking wheel automatically turns a quarter
o
f a turn anti-clockwise, making a perceptible
c
lick; take care to keep your hands clear.Check
that the towball has correctly locked in p
lace (position A).
Turn
the key clockwise to lock the towball fixing
m
echanism.
Always
remove the key and keep it in a safe
p
lace.If
the key cannot be turned or removed,
t
his means that the towball is not fitted
c
orrectly; start the procedure again.
If
one of the locking conditions is not
m
et, start the procedure again.
In
all cases, if the marking remains
r
ed, do not use the towbar and contact
a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified
w
orkshop.

Remove
the protective cover from the socket

nd connect the trailer wiring harness.
Removing the towball
Disconnect the trailer harness from the socket on the carrier.
Detach
the cable on the trailer from the security
r
ing on the carrier.
Unhook
the trailer from the towball.
Return the trailer harness connector carrier to
the
folded position. Insert
the key into the lock.
Turn the key anti-clockwise to unlock the
t
owball
f
ixing
m
echanism.
