A mixture of up to 10 % ethanol (grain alco-hol) and 90 % unleaded petrol may be used in
your vehicle, provided the octane number isat least as high as that recommended forunleaded petrol.

ECO mode is an eco-driving support systemwhich automatically controls the Plug-inHybrid EV System and air conditioning sys-tem to improve fuel efficiency.Refer to “Automatic climate control air con-ditioner” on page 8-4.The ECO mode starts working by pressingthe ECO mode switch when operation modeof the power switch is in ON. Push the switchagain and the ECO mode will cancel.While the ECO mode is working, an ECOmode indicator will be turned on.

The front fog lamps can be operated while theheadlamps or tail lamps are on. Turn the knobin the “ON” direction to turn on the front foglamps. An indicator lamp in the instrumentcluster will also come on. Turn the knob inthe “OFF” direction to turn off the front foglamps. The knob will automatically return toits original position when you release it.
zOn vehicles equipped with the emergencystop signal system, while the hazard warninglamps are blinking due to having manuallypushed the switch, the emergency stop signalsystem does not operate.Refer to “Emergency stop signal system” onpage 7-29.

Please contact your MITSUBISHI MOTORSAuthorised Service Point or a commercialtow truck service for assistance.Yo u r v e h i c l e m a y b e t e m p o r a r i l y t o w e d b yanother vehicle with a rope in emergency sit-uations such as running out of fuel.If your vehicle is to be towed by anothervehicle, tow your vehicle in a short distanceas much as possible and carefully in accord-ance with the instructions given in “Emer-gency towing” in this part.There may be local regulations concerningtowing in your area. It is recommended thatyou obey the regulations of the area whereyou are driving your vehicle.
If your vehicle is temporarily towed byanother vehicle with a rope in emergency sit-uations such as running out of fuel, the tow-ing distance shall be as short as possible andtow carefully in accordance with the follow-ing procedure.
CAUTION zIf the drive-train or suspension has a prob-lem, do not tow the vehicle with only the rearwheels or front wheels placed on a dolly.

The exhaust gas scavenging devices usedwith catalytic converter are extremely effi-cient for the reduction of noxious gases. Thecatalytic converter is installed in the exhaustsystem.It is important to keep the engine properlytuned to ensure proper catalyst operation andprevent possible catalyst damage.

1. Pull the release lever towards you tounlock the bonnet.
zMake sure that the engine and Plug-inHybrid EV system has cooled down beforeremoving the radiator cap and EV coolingsystem reserve tank cap, because hotsteam or boiling water otherwise will gushfrom the filler port and may scald you. zDo not smoke, cause sparks or allow openflames around fuel or auxiliary battery.The fumes are flammable. zBe extremely cautious when workingaround the auxiliary battery. It containspoisonous and corrosive sulphuric acid. zDo not get under your vehicle with just thebody jack supporting it. Always use auto-motive jack stands. zImproper handling of
components and
materials used in the vehicle can endangeryour personal safety. We recommend youto consult a specialist for necessary infor-mation. zThe components inside the engine roommight be very hot to the touch.To a v o i d b e i n g b u r n t , m a k e s u r e a l l c o m -ponents have sufficiently cooled beforebeginning an inspection.
