Warranty Information booklet. Your
authorized Mercedes-Benz Center will
exchange or repair any defective parts
originally installed in the vehicle in
accordance with the terms of the following

Information for customers in
California
Under California law you may be entitled to a
replacement of your vehicle orarefund of the
purchase price or lease price, if after a
reasonable number of repair attempts
Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC and/or its
authorized repair or service facilities fail to fix
one or more substantial defects or
malfunctionsinthe vehicle that are covered
by its express warranty. During the period of
18 months from original delivery of the
vehicle or the accumulation of 18,000 miles
(approximately 29,000 km) on the odometer
of the vehicle, whichever occurs first, a
reasonable number of repair attemptsis
presumed foraretail buyer or lessee if one or
more of the following occurs:
(1) the same substantial defect or
malfunction results inacondition that is
likely to cause death or serious bodily
injury if the vehicle is driven, that defect
or malfunction has been subject to repair
two or more times, and you have directly
notified Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC in
writing of the need for its repair,
(2) the same substantial defect or
malfunction ofaless serious nature than
category (1) has been subject to repair
four or more times and you have directly
notified us in writing of the need for its
repair, or
(3) the vehicle is out of service by reason of
repair of the same or different substantial
defects or malfunctionsforacumulative
total of more than 30 calendar days.

The Service and Warranty Booklet describes
all the necessary maintenance work which
should be done at regular intervals.
Always have the Service and Warranty
Booklet with you when you bring the vehicle
to an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center. The
service advisor will record every service for

General notes
Lane Keeping Assist monitors the area in
front of yourvehicle with camera ,which is
mounted at the top of the windshield. Lane
Keeping Assist detects lane markings on the
road and warns you before you leave your
lane unintentionally.
If you have chosen the functionDisplay
Unit Speed-/Odometer:(Ypage 229)and
selected the display unitkmin the on-board
computer, Active Lane Keeping Assist
supports you fromaspeed of 60 km/h.If the
milesdisplay unit is selected, the assistance
range begins at 40 mph.
Awarning may be given ifafront wheel
passesoveralane marking. It willwarn you
by means of intermittent vibration in the
steering wheelfor up to 1.5 seconds.
Switching on Lane Keeping Assist
XSwitch on Active Lane Keeping Assist using
the on-board computer; to do so, select
StandardorAdaptive(Ypage 229).
If you drive at speedsabove 40 mph
(60 km/h) and lane markings are detected,
the lines in the assistance graphics display
(Ypage 227) are shown in green. Lane
Keeping Assist is ready for use.
Standard
IfStandardis selected, no warning vibration
occurs if:
Ryou switch on the turn signals. In this event,
the warnings are suppressed foracertain
periodoftime.
Radriving safety system intervenes, such as
ABS, BAS or ESP®.
Adaptive
IfAdaptiveis selected, no warning vibration
occurs if:
Ryou switch on the turn signals. In this event,
the warnings are suppressed foracertain
periodoftime.
Radriving safety system intervenes, e.g.
ABS, BAS or ESP®.
Ryou accelerate hard, e.g. kickdown.
Ryou brake hard.
Ryou steer actively,e.g. swerve to avoid an
obstacle or change lanes quickly.
Ryou cut the corner onasharp bend.
In order that you are warned only when
necessary and in good time if you cross the
lane marking, the system recognizes certain
conditions and warns you accordingly.
The warning vibration occurs earlier if:
Ryou approach the outer lane marking on a
bend.
Rthe road has very widelanes, e.g. a
highway.
Rthe system recognizes solidlane markings.
The warning vibrationoccurs later if:
Rthe roadhasnarrowlanes.
Ryoucut the corner onabend.
