calculated from the last time the submenu
was reset (Ypage 223).
TheFrom Starttrip computer is
automatically reset when:
Rthe ignition has been switched off for more
than four hours.
R999 hours have been exceeded.
R9,999 miles have been exceeded.

TheFrom Resettrip computer is
automatically reset if the value exceeds
9,999 hours or 99,999miles.
ECO display
Example: ECO display
XPress the\norbutton on the
steeringwheel to select theTripmenu.
XSelectECO DISPLAYwithor.
If the ignition remains switched off for longer
than four hours, the ECO display will be
automatically reset.

Displaying the range and current fuel
consumption
XPress the\norbutton on the
steeringwheel to select theTripmenu.
XPress theorbutton to select the
currentfuel consumption (not for AMG
vehicles) and the approximate range.
The approximate range that can be covered
depends on the fuel level and your current
driving style. If there is onlyasmall amount
of fuel left in the fuel tank,the display shows
avehicle being refueledinstead of the
range.

iIf the gearshift recommendation is shown
at the top of the multifunction display,itis

Resetting values
Example: resetting the trip computer "From Start"

function that you wish to reset.

You can reset the values of the following

display",the values in the trip computer
"From start"are likewise reset. When you
reset the values in the trip computer "From
start", the values in the "ECO display" are
likewise reset.

In theNavimenu, the multifunction display
shows navigation instructions. For more

Selecting the permanent display function
You can determine whether the multifunction
displaypermanently shows your speed or the
outside temperature.
XPress the\norbutton on the
steering wheel to select theSett.menu.
XPress theorbutton to select the
Inst. Clustersubmenu.
XPressto confirm.
XPress theorbutton to select the
Permanent Display:function.
You will see the selected settingOutside
TemperatureorSpeedometer [km/h]
(USA)/Speedometer [mph](Canada).

Setting the brightness of the instrument
cluster lighting and switches
The lighting in the instrumentcluster,inthe
displays and the controls in the vehicle
interior can be adjusted using the
Brightness Display/Switches:function.
XPress the\norbutton on the
steeringwheel to selecttheSett.menu.
XPress theorbutton to select the
Lightssubmenu.
XPressto confirm.
XPress theorbutton to select the
Brightness Display/Switches:
function.
You will see the selected setting.

brightness to any level fromLevel 1to
Level 5(bright).
XPress theorbutton to save the

If the light switch is set to\r,or
,the brightness is dependent upon
the brightness of the ambient light.
iThe light sensor in the instrumentcluster
automatically controls the brightnessof
the multifunction display.
In daylight, the displays in the instrument
cluster are not illuminated.
