Note:If your vehicle is not equipped withNavigation, Compass appears in the displayinstead of Navigation. If you press the rightarrow to go into the Compass menu, youcan see the compass graphic. The compassdisplays the direction in which the vehicleis traveling, not true direction (for example,if the vehicle is traveling west, the middleof the compass graphic displays west; northdisplays to the left of west though its truedirection is to the right of west).
Using Voice Recognition
This system helps you control manyfeatures using voice commands. Thisallows you to keep your hands on thewheel and focus on what is in front of you.The system provides feedback throughaudible tones, prompts, questions andspoken confirmations depending on thesituation and the chosen level ofinteraction (voice settings).
The system also asks short questions(confirmation prompts) when it is not sureof your request or when there are multiplepossible responses to your request.
When using voice commands, words andicons may appear in the lower left statusbar indicating the status of the voicesession (such as Listening, Success, Failed,Paused or Try Again).
How to Use Voice Commands with YourSystem
Press the voice icon. After thetone, speak your commandclearly.

What Can I Say?
To access the available voice commandsfor the current session, do one of thefollowing:
•During a voice session, press the helpicon (?) in the lower left status bar ofthe screen.
•Say, "What can I say?" for anon-screen listing of the possible voicecommands associated with yourcurrent voice session.
•Press the voice icon. After the tone, say,"Help" for an audible list of possiblevoice commands.
Helpful Hints
•Make sure the interior of your vehicle isas quiet as possible. Wind noise fromopen windows and road vibrations mayprevent the system from correctlyrecognizing spoken commands.
•After pressing the voice icon, wait untilafter the tone sounds and Listeningappears before saying a command. Anycommand spoken before this does notregister with the system.
•Speak naturally, without long pausesbetween words.
•At any time, you can interrupt thesystem while it is speaking by pressingthe voice icon.

Voice Settings
Voice settings allow you to customize thelevel of system interaction, help andfeedback. The system defaults to standardinteraction that uses candidate lists andconfirmation prompts as these provide thehighest level of guidance and feedback.
•Interaction Mode: Novice modeprovides detailed interaction andguidance while the advanced modehas less audible interaction and moretone prompts.
•Confirmation Prompts: The systemuses these short questions to confirmyour voice request. If turned off, thesystem simply makes a best guess asto what you requested. The systemmay still occasionally ask you toconfirm settings.
•Phone and Media Candidate Lists:Candidate lists are lists of possibleresults from your voice commands. Thesystem creates these lists when it hasthe same confidence level of severaloptions based on your voice command.
To access these settings using thetouchscreen:
1.Press the Settings icon > Settings >then Voice Control.
2.Select from the following:
•Interaction Mode
•Confirmation Prompts
•Media Candidate Lists
•Phone Candidate Lists
•Voice Control Volume.
To access these settings using voicecommands:
1.Press the voice icon. Wait for theprompt "Please say a command".Another tone sounds to let you knowthe system is listening.
2.Say any of the following commands:

Press the Settings icon >Vehicle > Rear View Camera,then select from the followingsettings:
•Rear Camera Delay
•Visual Park Aid Alert
•Guidelines.

Enable Valet Mode
Valet mode allows you to lock the system.No information is accessible until thesystem is unlocked with the correct PIN.
1.Press the Settings icon > Vehicle >Enable Valet Mode.
2.When prompted, enter a four-digit PIN.
After you press Continue, the system locksuntil you enter the PIN again.
Note:If the system locks, and you need toreset the PIN, enter 3681 and the systemunlocks.
Settings
Access and adjust system settings, voicefeatures, as well as phone, navigation andwireless settings.

Have the system display your turn list top to bottom orbottom to top.
Turn the Parking POI notification on and off.
Choose to have the system display the Shortest, Fastestor most Ecological route first. If you set Always UsePreferred Route to Yes, the system uses the selectedroute type to calculate only one route to the desireddestination.Always Use Preferred Route bypasses routeselection in destination programming. The system onlycalculates one route based on the preferred route setting.Eco Time Penalty allows you to select a low, medium orhigh cost for the calculated Eco Route. The higher thesetting, the longer the time allotment is for the route.
