Do not use the
windscreen wipers to
remove layers of snow
or ice from the windscreen. In
these conditions, the windscreen
wipers may be submitted to
excessive effort resulting in the
motor protection cutting in and
wiper operation being inhibited
for a few seconds. If operation is
not subsequently restored,
contact a Fiat Dealership.

CONTROLS
HAZARD WARNING
LIGHTS fig. 64
They are turned on by pressing
switch A, regardless of the position
of the ignition key.
With the device activated, the
switch flashes and the warning
lights flash on the instrument panel
at the same time.
To switch off, press the switch again.The use of hazard
warning lights is
governed by the highway code
of the country you are in.
Drivers must therefore comply
with the regulations that the
code contains.

Rear fog lights
Switch A: to activate these lights, the
dipped headlights and/or front fog
lights must be switched on. The rear
fog lights are deactivated when the
ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.
Fog lights
Switch B: to activate these lights, the
external lights must be switched on
(not the main beam headlights). The
front fog lights are deactivated when
the ignition key is turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.Driving lights
Switch C. To activate these lights,
the mean beam headlights must be
switched on. The driving lights are
deactivated when the ignition key is
turned to STOP.
If they are required when the vehicle
is next started, they must be
reactivated.

FUEL CUT-OFF
SWITCH fig. 66
This is a safety switch that is tripped
in the event of impact, cutting off the
fuel supply, thereby causing the
engine to stop.

If, after a collision, you
smell fuel or notice
leaks from the fuel system, do
not reset the switch to avoid
the risk of fire.

INTERNAL FEATURES
GLOVE COMPARTMENT

To open, pull grip A. On some
versions, when the glove
compartment opens the internal
lighting switches on. Some versions
feature an upper compartment. To
open press button B. If no fuel leaks are detected and the
vehicle can be started again, press
button A to reactivate the fuel
system.
After a collision, remember to turn
the ignition key to STOP to prevent
battery from running down.
Do not travel with the
glove box open: it could
injure the passenger in the
event of an accident.

holder on the driver side door. To
open, operate in the direction of the
arrow as illustrated.
FRONT ROOF LIGHTS

The roof light is switched on using
the lens, as follows:
pressed to 1: off;
normal position: switches on when a
door is opened;
pressed to 2: always onWith switches

The roof light switches on in 2
different situations according to the
position of switch A:
1: always on (ON) even with doors
closed;
2: switches on when a door is
opened;
3: always off (OFF).
Spot light
Switch B controls the spot light,
depending on the position:
1: spot light on (ON);
2: spot light off (OFF).Roof light timing
On some versions, to facilitate
getting into/out of the vehicle,
especially at night or with poor
lighting, 2 different timing modes are
available.
Entrance timing
The roof lights switch on as follows:
– for a period of 15 seconds when
the front doors are unlocked;
– for a period of 3 minutes when
one of the doors is opened;

– for a period of 7 seconds when
one of the doors is closed
(within 3 minutes).
The timed period is interrupted if
the ignition is turned to MAR.
Exit timing
After removing the key from the
ignition switch, the roof lights switch
on as follows:
– for a period of 3 minutes within 2
minutes of the engine stopping;
– for a period of 3 minutes when
one of the doors is opened;
– for a period of 7 seconds when
one of the doors is closed (within
3 minutes).
Timing will stop automatically when
the doors are locked.REAR ROOF LIGHT fig. 71

The rear roof light is switched on
using the lens, as follows:
pressed to 1: off;
normal position: switches on when a
door is opened;

This is present only on certain
versions and operates when the
ignition key is turned to MAR.
To use, lift cap A.
It can be used with devices /
accessories with a maximum power
of 180 W.
Before connecting any
electrical accessories,
contact a Fiat Dealership to
check whether this is possible.

If the power socket is
used as a cigar lighter,
remember that it reaches high
temperatures. Handle with
care and make sure that
children don’t touch it: risk of
fire and burns.

be adjusted forwards and sideways.

sun visor; a courtesy mirror is
applied to the back of the passenger
side sun visor.

DOORS
Before opening a door,
ensure that you can do
so in safe conditions.
WARNING
FROM OUTSIDE
Opening: turn the key to position 1-
fig. 75 and pull the opening handle.
Closing: turn the key to position 2.

FROM INSIDE

Closing: close the door and press
the lever.
CENTRAL LOCKING
From outside
With the doors closed, insert and
turn the key in a door lock.From inside
With doors closed, press (to lock)
or pull (to unlock) one of the door
opening levers.
The remote control can also be used
to activate central locking.
IMPORTANT If one of the doors is
not fully closed or there is a system
failure, central locking will not
operate and, after several attempts,
the system will be excluded for
about 30 seconds.
The doors can be locked or
unlocked during this period, without
the intervention of the electronic
system. After the 30 seconds have
elapsed, the control unit is ready to
receive commands again.
If the cause of operational failure has
been removed, the device will
resume normal operation.
Otherwise, the exclusion cycle will
be repeated.

OPENING WINDOWS
Electric fig. 76

Two switches are located in the
driver side door panel moulding.
These operate the following
windows with ignition key at MAR:
A - left window;
B - right window.
There is a switch in the passenger
side door handle which controls the
passenger side window.
Press the switches to lower the
windows. Lift to raise them.
Incorrect use of the
electric windows may
be dangerous. Before and
during their operation ensure
that passengers are not at risk
from the moving glass, either
by personal objects caught in
the mechanism or struck by it
directly. When leaving the car,
always remove the ignition key
to avoid the risk of injury due
to accidental operation of the
electric windows.
