Operating fault with the
2-button remote control
Following disconnection of the vehicle battery
, replacement of the remote con -
trol
battery
or
in
the
event
of
malfunction
of
the
remote
control,
you
can
no
longer
unlock,
lock or locate your vehicle.
F
First
of
all,
use
the
key
in
the
lock
to
unlock
or lock your vehicle.
F
Then,
reinitialise the remote control.
Reinitialisation
F
Switch
off the ignition.
F
Turn the key to position 2 (Ignition on) .
F Press the closed padlock immedi -
ately for a few seconds.
F
Switch
of
f
the
ignition
and
remove
the
key from the ignition switch.
The
remote
control
is
fully
operational
again. Battery
ref.: CR1620/3 volts.
Changing the battery
If the
battery is flat, you are in -
formed by illumination of this warning
lamp,
an
audible
signal and
a message in the screen.
F Unclip the casing using a coin at the notch.
F
Slide
the
flat
battery
out
of
its
loca
-
tion.
F
Slide
the
new
battery
into
its
loca
-
tion
observing the original direction.
F
Clip
the casing.
F
Reinitialise
the remote control.
If
the
problem
persists,
contact
a
CITROËN
dealer
as
soon
as
possible.

In the event of a malfunction with the remote
control, you can no longer un -
lock,
lock or locate your vehicle.

First

all,
use
the
key
in
the
lock
to
unlock
or lock your vehicle.

Then,
reinitialise the remote control.

at the two cutouts.

Lift
off the cover.

battery
from
its

cation.

Fit the new battery into its location

direction
of
fitment.

Clip
the cover onto the casing.
If
the
problem
persists,
contact
a

dealer
as
soon
as
possible.

Emergency control
System allowing the doors to be locked and
unlocked manually in the event of

malfunction
of
the
central
locking
sys

tem
or battery failure.
Locking the driver's door

Insert
the
key
in
the
door
lock,
then
turn
it to the rear.
You
can
also
apply
the
procedure
de
-
scribed
for the passenger doors.
Unlocking the driver's door

Insert
the
key
in
the
door
lock,
then
turn
it to the front. Locking the front and rear
passenger doors

Pull
the
interior
door
opening
control.

Open
the doors.
F
On
the
rear
doors,
check
that
the
child
lock
is
not
on
(see
the
corre

sponding
section).

Remove
the
black
cap,
located
on
the
edge of the door, using the key.

Insert
the
key
in
the
socket
without
forcing
it,
then
without
turning
it,
move
the
latch
sideways
towards
the
inside of the door.

Remove
the key and refit the cap.

Close
the
doors
and
check
that
the
vehicle
has
locked
correctly
from
the
outside.
Activation / Deactivation

activate

deactivate

BOOT
Opening
F After unlocking the boot or the ve -
hicle using the remote control or the

then
raise
the tailgate.
Closing
F Lower the tailgate using the interior grab
handle.

to fully close it.
Tailgate release

Fold

seats

access
to

lock

boot.

into

If
the
fault
persists
after
closing
again,
the
boot will remain locked.

Reinitialisation
After
reconnecting
the
battery
or
a
fault,
you
must
be
reinitialise
the
operation
of
the
electric
windows.
For
each
of
the
control
switches
on
the
driver's
side
control
panel:
F
pull
the
control
until
the
window
stops,
F
release
the
control
and
pull
it
again
until
the window closes fully,
F
continue
to
hold
the
control
for
ap
-
proximately
one
second
after
the
window
has closed,
F
press the control to lower the win
-
dow
automatically
to
the
low
posi
-
tion,
F
when
the
window
has
reached
the
low
position,
press
the
control
again
for
approximately one second.
The safety anti-pinch function is not
operational during these operations. F
For
the
safety
of
your
children,
press
control 5
to
deactivate
the
rear
elec
-
tric
window
controls
regardless
of
their
position.
Indicator
lamp

controls
are
deactivated.

Deactivation of the rear electric

obstacle

window

driver
operates
the
controls
for

passengers'
electric
windows,
they
must
en

sure
that
nothing
is
preventing
the
windows closing correctly.
The
driver
must
ensure
that

passengers
use

correctly.

aware
of
children
when

-
ating
the windows.

Anti-theft protection
Electronic engine immobiliser
The
key
contains
an
electronic
chip
which
has
a
special
code.
When
the
ignition
is
switched
on,
this
code
must
be
recognised
for
engine
starting
to
be
authorised.
This
electronic
engine
immobiliser
locks
the
engine
management
system
a
few
minutes
after
the
ignition
is
switched
of
f
and
prevents
starting
of
the
engine
by
anyone
who does not have the key.
In the event of a fault, you
are
informed
by
illu
mina-
tion
of
this
warning
lamp,
an
audible
signal
and
a
message
in
the
screen.
In this case, your vehicle will not start;
contact
a
CITROËN
dealer
as
soon
as
possible. It
has 3 positions:
-
position
1
(Stop):
insert
and
remov
-
ing
the key,
-
position
2 (Ignition on)
:
steering
column
unlocked,
ignition
on,
Diesel
preheating,
engine running,
-
position
3 (Starting).Avoid
attaching
heavy
objects
to
the
key
,
which
would
weigh
down
on
its
blade
in
the
ignition
switch
and
could
cause
a
mal
-
function.
Ignition on position
It
allows
the
use
of
the
vehicle's
elec
-
tric
equipment
or
portable
devices
to
be
charged.
Once
the state of charge of the battery drops
to the reserve level, the system
switches
to
energy
economy
mode:
the
power
supply
is
cut
of
f
automatically
to
preserve
the remaining battery charge.
Keep
safely
,
away
from
your
ve
-
hicle,
the
label
attached
to
the
keys
given
to
you
on
acquisition
of
the vehicle.

STOP & START
The Stop & Start system puts the en -
gine temporarily into standby - ST OP mode

during
stops
in
the
traffic
(red
lights,
traffic
jams,
or
other
...).
The
en
-
gine
restarts
automatically
-
ST
ART
mode
-
as
soon
as
you
want
to
move
of
f.
The
restart
takes
place
instantly
,
quickly
and silently.
Perfect for urban use, the Stop & Start
system
reduces
fuel
consumption
and
exhaust
emissions
as
well
as
the
noise
level
when stationary.
Operation
Going into engine STOP mode
The "ECO" warning lamp comes on in
the instrument panel and the en -
gine
goes into standby automatically:

ing
the key.
