1) Traffic Conditions for Using Cruise Control
Use the cruise control system only when the traffic is not jammed, driving on motorways or highways
where there is no sudden change in the driving condition due to traffic lights, pedestrian, etc.
Improper use of the cruise control could be dangerous.
- Do not use on winding roads.
- Do not use in heavy traffic.
- Do not use on slippery, wet roads.
This could result in a loss of control, collision, and/or personal injuries.
The described speed value may vary slightly depending on the road conditions.

(2) Using the Cruise Control on Hills
How well the cruise control works on hills depends on the speed, load, and the steepness of the hill.
When going up steep hills, you may have to depress the accelerator pedal to maintain your speed.
When going downhill, you may have to brake or shift to a lower gear to keep your speed down.
Applying the brake takes you out of the cruise control.
And the cruise control system cannot be operated again in driving state. In this case, you should stop
the vehicle, and turn off the ignition switch and then turn it on again. After you do that, you can use the
cruise control s
ystem again. But if the cruise control system isn’t recovered, you should contact
a Ssangyong Dealer for diagnosis of the cruise control system.
Abnormal changes of the gear selector lever can damage the engine. Do not move the gear shift
lever to Neutral while driving at the set speed. Automatic transmission damage may result.
The speed that has been set may not be maintained on uphill or downhill slopes.
The speed may drop to less than the set speed on a steep uphill grade. The accelerator must be
used if you want to maintain that speed.
The speed may increase to more than the set speed on a steep downhill grade. When the speed
increases too much, turn off the cruise control. -

(1) Abnormal Cancellation of the Cruise Control
When the rapid deceleration is applied without braking.
When the rapid acceleration is applied without acceleration pedal intervention.
When the cruise control lever is failed.
When the brake switch and the brake light switch input signal are implausible. 1.

2. CHECKING CABLES AND WIRES
Check for loose connection or rust.
Check terminals and wires for corrosion due to electrolyte leakage.
Check terminals and wires for open circuit.
Check the wire insulation and coat for damage, cracks or deterioration.
Check if the conductive parts of the terminals do not contact with vehicle body or other metal
parts.
Check that the grounding part has continuity with mounting bolts and vehicle body.
Check that wires are properly routed.
Make sure that wires are securely fixed to avoid contact with sharp body parts and hightemperature
parts, such as the exhaust manifold and exhaust pipes.
The rotating parts, such as fan pulley and fan belt, perturbative parts and wiring should be
secured tightly at regular intervals.
Secure the wiring between the fixed parts, such as the vehicle body, and vibrating parts, such
as the engine, after slackening it slightly to prevent it from being damaged. -

4) Door Ajar Warning
The warning light in indicator display comes on when opening any of driver’s door,
passenger’s door, rear door or tailgate while the vehicle speed is below 6 km/h (V1).
The warning light goes off when closing the door under step 1.
The warning light blinks when the vehicle speed is over 10 km/h (V1) for more than 2 seconds while
the warning light is turned on.
The warning light blinks when a door is opened while the vehicle speed is over 10 km/h (V1) (while
the warning light is turned off).
The warning light goes off when closing the door under step 3.
The warning light comes on when the vehicle speed is below 3 km/h (V2) under step 3. 1.

5) Seat Belt Warning
The seat belt warning light comes on and the chime buzzer in the ICM box sounds for 6 seconds
when turning the ignition key to “ON” from “OFF”. If the seat belt is fastened before turning
the ignition key to “ON” position, the warning light in the indicator display blinks for 6
seconds, however, the chime buzzer does not sound.
The seat belt warning light goes off and the chime buzzer in the ICM box stops when turning the
ignition switch to “OFF” position.
The chime buzzer stops and the seat belt warning light stays on for the specified duration (6
seconds) when fastening the seat belt during the warning operation.
The seat belt warning light comes on and the chime buzzer sounds for 6 seconds again when
unfastening the seat belt during fastening operation. 1.

6) Parking Brake Warning
The parking brake warning light comes on for approx. 4 seconds (T4) when turning the ignition key
from “OFF” to “ON” position regardless of the vehicle speed and parking brake switch
position.
The warning light comes on when the parking brake switch is turned on while the vehicle speed is
below 10 km/h (V1).
The warning light goes off when turning off the parking brake switch under step 2.
The warning light blinks and the chime buzzer in the ICM box sounds for 2.85 seconds and stops for
1.5 seconds when the vehicle speed is over 10 km/h (V1) for more than 2 seconds while the parking
brake switch is turned on.
The warning light goes off and the chime buzzer stops when turning off the parking brake switch
under step 4.
The warning light comes on and the chime buzzer stops when the vehicle speed goes down below
7 km/h (V2) under step 4.
This function is not available when the ignition key is turned to “OFF” position. 1.

rear door while the door coupled rear room lamp
switch is pressed (except for luggage room lamp).
The rear room lamp extends its lighting period by 5
seconds when closing the rear door.
The room lamp output stops immediately after
turning the ignition key to “ON” position during
the extended period.
