The childproof door locks are
designed to prevent children seated
in the rear f rom accidentally opening
the rear doors. Each rear door has a
lock lever near the edge. With the
lever in the LOCK position (lever is
down), the door cannot be opened
f rom the inside regardless of the
position of the lock tab. To open the
door, push the lock tab f orward and
use the outside door handle.
To lock any passenger’s door when
getting out of the vehicle, pull the
lock tab rearward and close the
door. To lock the driver’s door,
remove the key from the ignition
switch, pull the lock tab rearward or
push the front of the master switch,
then close the door.
When the vehicle speed reaches
about 10 mph (U.S.)/15 km/h
(Canada) or more, all the doors and
the hatch lock automatically.
When you shif t to P af ter driving, the
driver’s door unlocks.
If you f orget and leave the key in the
ignition switch, lockout prevention
will not allow you to lock the driver’s
door. With any door or the hatch
open and the key in the ignition
switch, locking with master door
lock switch is disabled. If the driver’s
door is closed, the lock tab on the
driver’s door is not disabled. Pulling
the driver’s lock tab rearward will
lock all doors and the hatch. If you
try to lock an open driver’s door by
pulling the lock tab rearward, the
driver’s door lock tab pops out and
unlocks the driver’s door.

The ceiling light and the door
activated spotlights come on when
you press the UNLOCK button if the
lights are in the door activated
position. If you do not open any door
or the hatch within 30 seconds (or
whatever setting of the interior light
dimming time is set to), the light(s)
will f ade out. If you relock the doors
and the hatch with the remote
transmitter before 30 seconds have
elapsed, the light(s) will go of f
immediately.
To change the lock/unlock setting
and the relock timer setting, refer to
the customized settings on
page .
The keyless lock acknowledgment
beep and f lashing of the lights can
be deactivated (see
page).
Press this button once to
lock all doors and the hatch. Some
exterior lights will f lash once. When
you press LOCK twice within 5
seconds, the horn will sounds to
verif y that the doors are locked. You
cannot lock the doors if any door or
the hatch is not f ully closed or if the
key is in the ignition switch. If you press the LOCK button twice
within 5 seconds, you will hear a
horn to verify that the security
system has set.
Press this button once
to unlock the driver’s door (or all the
doors and the hatch depending on
the door lock setting). Press it twice
to unlock the remaining doors and
the hatch. Some exterior lights will
f lash twice when you press the
button the first time.
If you do not open any door or the
hatch within 30 seconds, they will
automatically relock, and the
security system (if equipped) will

µAvoid dropping or throwing the
transmitter.
Protect the transmitter from
extreme temperatures.
Do not immerse the transmitter in
any liquid.
If you lose a transmitter, the
replacement needs to be
reprogrammed by your dealer. If it takes several pushes on the
button to lock or unlock the doors,
replace the battery as soon as
possible.

Press and hold this
button for about 1 second to attract
attention; the horn will sound, and
the exterior lights will f lash f or about
30 seconds. To cancel panic mode,
press any other button on the remote
transmitter, or turn the ignition
switch to the ON (II) position. Panic
mode does not work when the key is

Be careful when
removing this screw as the
head of the screw can strip out.
Remove the screw at the base of
the transmitter with a small
Phillips-head screwdriver.
Remove the old battery and note
the polarity. Make sure the
polarity of the new battery is the
same ( side f acing down), then
insert it in the keypad.
To replace the battery:
Separate the keypad from the
transmitter by pushing any button
f rom outside. Place a cloth on the edge of the
keypad to prevent scratches, and
remove the upper half by carefully
prying on the edge with a coin.
Snap the two halves of the keypad,
then install the parts in reverse
order.

The hatch will lock or unlock when
you lock/unlock the driver’s door
with the key, the remote transmitter,
the master door lock switch, or the
locktabonthedriver’sdoor.
To unlock the hatch, turn the key
clockwise twice, push the rear of
the master door lock switch, or
push UNLOCK twice on the
remote transmitter.Keep the hatch closed at all times
while driving to avoid damaging the
hatch and to prevent exhaust gas
from getting into the interior. Seeon

To open the hatch, push the release,
and lif t up. To close the hatch, use
thehandletolowerit,thenpress
down on the back edge.

If the power door lock system cannot
unlock the hatch, unlock it manually.If you need to unlock the hatch
manually, it means there is a
problem with the hatch. Have the
vehicle checked by your dealer.
Placeaclothonthetopsideof the
cover to prevent scratches, then use
a small f lat-tip screwdriver to remove
the cover on the back of the hatch. Push the release lever to the lower
left as shown, and push the hatch to
open it.

The height of your driver’s seat is
adjustable. To raise the seat,
repeatedly pull up the lever on the
outside of the seat cushion. To lower
the seat, push the lever down
repeatedly.
To change the seat-back angle of the
f ront seat, pull up the lever on the
outside of the seat bottom.
Once a seat is adjusted correctly,
rock it back and f orth to make sure it
is locked in position.
To adjust the seat f orward or
backward, pull up on the bar under
the seat cushion’s f ront edge. Move
the seat to the desired position, and
releasethebar.Trytomovetheseat
to make sure it is locked in position. Make all adjustments bef ore you
start driving.
