Automatic illumination
of headlam
ps

Activation
)Turn the ring to the "AUTO"position. The activation of the function is accompanied
by the display of a message. When a low level of ambient li
ght is detected by a sunshine sensor, the number platelamps, sidelamps and dipped beam headlamps
are switched on automatically, without any
action on the par t of the driver. They can alsocome on if rain is detected, at the same time as
automatic operation of the windscreen wipers.

As soon as the brightness returns to asufficient level or after the windscreen wipers
are switched off, the lamps are switched off
automatically.
Deactivation
) Turn the ring to another position.Deactivation of the function is
accompanied by the display of a message.

Operating fault

In the event of a malfunction of the sunshine sensor, the lighting comes on, this warning lamp is displayed
In fog or snow, the sunshine sensor may detect sufficient light. In this case, thelighting will not come on automatically. Do not cover the sunshine sensor, coupled with the rain sensor andlocated in the centre of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror; the associated functions would no longer be controlled.



Automatic "guide-me-
home" lighting


When the automatic illumination of headlampsfunction is activated, under low ambient light the dipped beams headlamps come on
automatically when the ignition is switched off.

Programming
Activation or deactivation, as well as the
duration of the guide-me-home lighting, is set in the " Driving aids" menu, then "Vehicle
settings".
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualifiedworkshop.
in the instrument panel accompanied by an audible signal and/or a message.

Automatic headlamp dipping
System which automatically changes between
dipped and main beam according to theambient light level and the driving conditions,
using a camera located in the rear view mirror.
This automatic headlamp dipping system is a driving aid. The driver remains responsible for the vehicle's lighting, its correct use for the prevailingconditions of light, visibility and trafficand observation of driving and vehicle regulations.

The system will be operational as soon asyou have exceeded 15 mph (25 km/h).
If the speed drops below 9 mph (15 km/h), the system no longer operates.

Visibility

The system may suffer interference or not work correctly:


- under conditions of poor visibility(for example, snowfall, heavy rainor thick fog, ...),

- if the windscreen is dir ty, misted or obscured (by a sticker, ...) in front of the camera,

- if the vehicle is facing highly reflective signs.


The system is not able to detect:


- road users that do not have their own lighting, such as pedestrians,

- road users whose lighting is
obscured, such as vehicles running behind a safety barrier (on amotorway, for example),

- road users at the top or bottom of a steep slope, on twisty roads, oncrossroads.Switching off

In the "Driving assistance"menu, press the button, its
indicator lamp goes o
ff and
the the system changes to
"automatic illumination of headlamps" mode. To reactivate the s
ystem, flash the headlampsagain.
Depending on thesituation, one of these two indicator lamps comes on.

Switching on

Put the lighting control stalk ring
in the "AUTO" position.
)
In the " Driving assistance"
menu, press the button, its
indicator lamp comes on.

Operation



- dipped beam is maintained, this
indicator lamp comes on in the
instrument panel.
)Flash the headlamps(going beyond the point
of resistance) to activate
the function.

Once the function is activated, the system
operates as follows:
If the ambient li
ght level is very low and the
traffic conditions permit:


- m
ain beam comes on
automatically: this indicator lamp
comes on in the instrument panel. If the ambient li
ght level is sufficient and/or
if the traffic conditions do not allow illumination
of the main beam headlamps:
Pause
If the situation requires a change of headlampbeam, driver can take over at any time.
) Flashing the headlamps
again pauses the
function and thesystem changes to "automatic illumination of headlamps" mode:


- i
f the AUTO indicator lamp was on in green, the system changes to main
beam,

- i
f the AUTO indicator lamp was on in
blue, the system changes to dippedbeam.

To make your approach to the vehicle easier,
these illuminate:


- the zones facing the driver’s and
passenger’s doors,

- the zones forward of the door mirrors andrearward of the front doors.


Door mirror spotlamps


Switching on

The spotlamps come on automatically:


- when you unlock the vehicle,

- when you remove the electronic key from the reader,

- when you open a door,

- when you use the remote control to locate the
vehicle.




Switching off

They go off automatically after 30 seconds.

Exterior welcome lighting


Switching on

Press the open padlock on the
remote control or one of the front
door handles with Keyless Entry
and Star ting.
The dipped beam headlamps
and the sidelamps come on; your
vehicle is also unlocked.




Programming
Daytime running lamps
(LEDs)
They come on automatically when the engineis star ted, when the lighting control stalk is in position "0" or " AUTO".

In some weather conditions (e.g. low
temperature or humidity), the presence of misting on the internal sur face of theglass of the headlamps and rear lampsis normal; it disappears after the lamps have been on for a few minutes.
The remote switching on o
f the lighting makesyour approach to the vehicle easier in poor
light. It is activated when the lighting control
is in the "AUTO" position and the level of light
detected by the sunshine sensor is low.



Switching off

The activation, deactivation and choice of
welcome lighting duration are done in the
" Driving assistance" menu then "Vehicle
settings". The exterior welcome li
ghting switches off
automatically after a set time, when the ignition
is switched on or on locking the vehicle.

To avoid causing a nuisance to other road
users, the headlamps should be adjustedaccording to the load in the vehicle.
0. 1 or 2 people in the front seats. -.
Intermediate setting. 1.
5 people + maximum authorised load. -.
Intermediate setting. 2.Driver + maximum authorised load. -.
Intermediate setting. 3.5 people + maximum load in the boot.

Cornering lighting
With dipped or main beams, this system makes use of the beam from a front foglamp to
illuminate the inside of a bend, when the vehicle speed is below 25 mph (approximately 40 km/h)(urban driving, winding road, intersections, parking manoeuvres...).w

Switching on

This system starts:


- when the corresponding direction indicator
is switched on,
or

- from a cer tain angle of rotation of the steering wheel.


Switching off

The system does not operate:


- below a cer tain angle of rotation of thesteering wheel,

- above 25 mph (40 km/h),

- when reverse gear is engaged.

The cornering lighting can be activated or deactivated in the "Driving assistance menu"menu, then "Vehicle settings".

Directional lighting
on, this system allows the light beams to better
follow the road.
The use of this system, coupled with the
xenon headlamps and the cornering lighting,considerably improves the quality of your lighting round bends.

Operating fault

This system is inactive:


- when stationary or at low speeds,

- when reverse is engaged.

If a fault occurs, this warning lamp flashes
in the instrument panel, accompanied by
a message in the screen.

ghting can be activated or deactivated via the " Driving aids" menu, then
"Vehicle settings".

Your vehicle may also include some functions
that can be configured:
- automatic rain sensitive windscreen wipers,
- rear w
iping on engaging reverse gear.

Windscreen wipers

Fast wipe (heavy rain).
Normal wipe
(moderate rain).
Intermittent wipe
(proportional to the
speed of the vehicle).

Automatic wipin
g (press down,
then release).
Single wipe (pull the stalk brieflytowards you). The wipers are controlled directly by the driver.
Wiping speed control stalk: raise or lower the
stalk to the desired position.

In wintry conditions, remove snow, iceor frost present on the windscreen, around the wiper arms and blades andthe windscreen seal, before operatingthe wipers.


Do not operate the wipers on a dry windscreen. Under extremely hot or
cold conditions, ensure that the wiper blades are not stuck to the windscreen,before operating the wipers.



The front wiper system includes asafety device which can temporarilyinhibit operation if it detects obstacles such as ice or snow.
