Engine compartment fuses
The fusebox is placed in the engine compartment near the battery (left-hand side).

Access to fuses

Unclip the cover.)
Change the fuse (see correspondingparagraph).)
When you have finished, close the cover carefully to ensure the correct sealing of
the fusebox.


All work on these fuses, located on
the battery, must be carried out bya CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Battery


Access to the battery
Starting using another
battery
)Connect the red cable to the positive
terminal (+) of the flat battery A , then to the positive terminal (+) of the slave battery B.)Connect one end of the green or blackcable to the negative terminal (-) of the slave battery B . )Connect the other end of the green or black cable to the remote negative terminal (-) of your vehicle .)Start the slave vehicle.)Operate the star ter of the broken down
vehicle and let the engine run.
)Wait until the engine returns to idle anddisconnect the cables. The batter
y is located under the bonnet.
To gain access to it:)
open the bonnet using the interior releaselever, then the exterior safety catch, )
secure the bonnet stay, )
lift the plastic cover on the (+) terminal.

The presence of this label, in particular with the Stop & Star t system, indicatesthe use of a 12 V lead-acid battery withspecial technology and specification;the involvement of a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop is essential when replacing or disconnecting thebattery.
Failure to observe this recommendation may cause premature wear of thebattery.


After refitting the battery by a CITROËNdealer or a qualified workshop, theStop & Start system will only beactive after a continuous period of immobilisation of the vehicle, a period which depends on the climatic conditions and the state of charge of thebattery (up to about 8 hours).

Charging the battery using
a battery charger









Load reduction mode
)Follow the instructions for use provided by
the manufacturer of the charger.

Do not disconnect the battery to charge it.Do not push the vehicle to star t theengine if your vehicle is fitted with an electronic gearbox.
Batteries contain harmful substances suchas sulphuric acid and lead. They must be disposed of in accordance with regulations and must not, in any circumstances, bediscarded with household waste.Ta k e used remote control batteries and vehicle batteries to a special collectionpoint.
System which manages the use of certainfunctions according to the level of charge
remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is bein
g driven, the load
reduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air conditioning,
the heated rear screen...
Th
e deactivated functions are reactivatedautomatically as soon as conditions permit.

Energy economy mode

These functions are reactivated automaticallythe next time the vehicle is driven. )In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, star t the engine and
let it run for a few minutes.
The time available to you will then be double
the period for which the engine is left running. However, this period will always be betweenfive and thir ty minutes.

Switching to economy mode
Once this period has elapsed, a message
appears on the multifunction screen indicating
that the vehicle has switched to economy mode
and the active functions are put on standby.
A flat battery prevents the engine from starting (refer to the corresponding paragraph).
If the telephone is being used at the same time on the eMyWay audionavigation system, it will be interrupted after 10 minutes. S
ystem which manages the period of use of certain functions to conserve a sufficient level
of charge in the battery.
After the engine has stopped, you can still use functions such as the audioequipment, windscreen wipers, dipped
beam headlamps, cour tesy lamps, etc. for a maximum combined period of thirty minutes.
This period may be greatly reduced if the
battery is not fully charged.
