Fuel tank
Low fuel level
When the fuel tank minimum level is
reached this warning lamp comes on on the instrument panel. When it first comes on there remains approximately5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
Filling
A label affixed to the inside of the flap remindsyou of the type of fuel to be used depending onyour engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least 7 litres, in
order to be registered by the fuel gauge. To
fill the tank safely: )the engine must be switched off, )
open the fuel filler flap,
)
inser t the key in the cap, then turn it to the left,
)
remove the cap and hook it onto the clip located on the inside of the flap, )
fill the tank, but do not continue after the3rd cut- off of the pump; this could cause
malfunctions.
When
you have filled the tank: )
put the cap back in place, )
turn the key to the right, then remove itfrom the cap, )
close the flap.
You must refuel as soon as possible to avoid
running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer also to the
"Checks" section. Fuel tank capacity: approximately
50 litres (petrol) or 46 litres (Diesel) or 37 litres (LPG); (Depending on version:
approximately 30 litres (petrol or Diesel)).
With Stop & Star t, never refuel with the system in STOP mode; you must switch off the ignition with the key.
The key cannot be removed from thelock until the cap is refitted. Opening the filler cap may create anoise caused by an inrush of air. This vacuum is entirely normal, resulting from the sealing of the fuel system.

with the following additional options:
- selection of the lighting duration to 15, 30 or 60 seconds in the functions that can be set
in the vehicle configuration menu (except in
the case of the monochrome screen A, for
which the duration is set: 60 seconds),
- automatic activation of "guide-me-home"lighting when automatic illumination of headlamps is in operation.
Operating fault
In the event of a fault with the
sunshine sensor, the lighting
come on, this warning lamp is displayed in the
instrument panel and/or a message appears in
the screen, accompanied by an audible signal.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualified
workshop.
In fog or snow, the sunshine sensor may detect sufficient light. Therefore, thelighting will not come on automatically. Do not cover the sunshine sensor, coupled with the rain sensor andlocated in the centre of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror; the associated functions would no longer be controlled.
Automatic illumination of headlamps
Activation
)Turn ring to the "AUTO"
position. The automatic illumination of headlamps is accompanied by a message in the screen.
Deactivation
)Turn ring to a position other than "AUTO" . Deactivation is accompanied by a message in the screen.
The sidelamps and dipped beam headlamps
are switched on automatically, without any action on the par t of the driver, when a low level
of external light is detected or in certain cases
of activation of the windscreen wipers.
As soon as the brightness returns to a sufficient
level or after the windscreen wipers are switched
off, the lamps are switched off automatically.

Vertical windscreen wiper
position
This position allows the wiper blades to be lifted
for winter parking, cleaning or replacement
without damaging the bonnet.
In the minute following switching off of the ignition, any action on the wiper stalk positions
the wipers vertically.
To park the wipers after this has been done, switch on the ignition and operate the wiper stalk. This is controlled manuall
y by the driver bypushing stalk Ato the "AU TO "position.
This is controlled manually by the driver
by moving stalk Aupwards, returning it toposition "0"

Trajectory control systems
Anti-slip regulation (ASR)
and electronic stability
programme (ESP)
The anti-slip regulation (also known as Traction Control) optimises traction to prevent skidding
of the wheels, by acting on the brakes of the
driving wheels and on the engine.
The electronic stability programme acts on the
brake of one or more wheels and on the engine to
keep the vehicle on the trajectory required by the
driver, within the limits of the laws of physics.
Activation
These systems are activated automatically each time the vehicle is started.
They come into operation in the event of a grip
or trajectory problem.
This is indicated b
y flashing of this
warning lamp in the instrument panel.
Deactivation
In exceptional conditions (starting a vehicle
which is bogged down, stuck in snow, on soft ground...), if you are unable to make progress,
it may be advisable to temporarily deactivate
these systems, so that the wheels can spin freely and allow the vehicle to move. ) Press the "ESP OFF"
button, located near
the steering wheel.
If this warning lamp comes on in the instrument panel and the indicator lamp in the button comes on, thisindicates that these systems are deactivated. It is recommended that the systems be reactivated as soon as possible.
Reactivation
These systems are reactivated automatically each time the ignition is switched back on or from 30 mph (50 km/h). )
Press the "ESP OFF"
button again to
reactivate them manually.
Operating fault
If this warning lamp comes on,
accompanied by an audible signal
and a message in the screen, this
indicates a
fault with these systems.
Have it checked by a CITROËN
dealer or a qualified workshop.
The trajectory control systems offer increased safety in normal driving, butthis should not encourage the driver to take extra risks or drive at high speed.
The correct functioning of these systems is assured provided thatmanufacturer's recommendations areobserved on:
- wheels (tyres and rims),
- braking components,
- electronic components,
- assembly and repair procedures.
After an impact, have these systems checked by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.
