The childproof door locks are
designed to prevent children seated
in the rear f rom accidentally opening
the rear doors. Each rear door has a
lock lever near the edge. With the
lever in the LOCK position (lever is
down), the door cannot be opened
fromtheinsideregardlessof the
position of the lock tab. To open the
door, push the lock tab f orward and
use the outside door handle. Press this button once to
lock all doors and the tailgate. Some
exterior lights will f lash. When you
push LOCK twice within 5 seconds,
you will hear a beep to verify that the
doors and tailgate are locked and the
security system has set. This button
does not work if any door or tailgate
is not f ully closed. Pressthisbuttononce
to unlock the driver’s door. Push it
twice to unlock the remaining doors
and the tailgate. Some exterior lights
will f lash twice each time you press
the button.
The ceiling light and the door
activated spotlights come on when
you press the UNLOCK button if the
lights are in the door activated
position. If you do not open any door
within 30 seconds, the light(s) will
f ade out. If you relock the doors with
theremotetransmitterbefore30
seconds have elapsed, the light(s)
will go of f immediately.
If you do not open any door or the
tailgate within 30 seconds, the doors,
thetailgateandthefuelfilldoor
automatically relock and the security
system sets.

To replace the battery:
Remove the screw at the base of
the transmitter with a small
Phillips-head screwdriver.
Separate the transmitter by prying
its middle seam with your
f ingernail. Be careful when removing
this screw as the head of the Inside the transmitter, separate
the inner cover f rom the keypad
by caref ully prying on the edge
with a coin.
Remove the old battery, and insert
a new battery into the back of the
cover with the side f acing down.
An improperly disposed of battery
can hurt the environment.
Always conf irm local regulations
for battery disposal.
Install the parts in reverse order.

The tailgate locks and unlocks when
you lock and unlock the driver’s door.
To open the tailgate, push the
release, and lif t up. To close the
tailgate, use the tailgate handle to
lower it, then press down on the

unlock the tailgate, unlock it

If you need to unlock the tailgate
manually, it means there is a
