WARNING:
• Never get under the vehicle while it is supported only by the jack. Always use safety stands to sup-
port the frame when you have to get under the vehicle.
• Place wheel chocks at both front an d back of the wheels on the ground.
CAUTION:
• All applicable State or Provincial (in Canada) laws and local laws regarding the towing operation
must be obeyed.
• It is necessary to use proper towing equipment to avoid possible damage during towing operation.
Towing is in accordance with Towing Procedure Manual at dealer.
• Always attach safety chains before towing.
• When towing, make sure that the transmission, steering system and powertrain are in good order. If any unit is damaged, dollies must be used.
• Never tow an automatic transmission model from the rear (i.e., backward) with four wh eels on the ground as this may
cause serious and expensive dama ge to the transmission.
2WD MODEL
NIFINTI does not recommend towing automatic transmission
equipped vehicles with the drive wheels on the ground.
CAUTION:
• When towing with the front wheels on the ground: Turn the
ignition key to the OFF posit ion and move the transmission
selector lever to N (neutral) pos ition, turn the ignition key to
OFF position and secure the steering wheel in a straight
ahead position with a rope or similar device. Never place the
ignition key in the LOCK position. This will result in damage
to the steering lock mechanism.
• When the battery of the vehicle equipped with Intelligent Key system is discharged, the vehicle should be towed with the
front wheels on towing dollies or place the vehicle on a flat
bed truck.

INIFINTI recommends that towing dollies be used when towing 4WD
equipped vehicles or place the vehicle on a flat bed truck.
CAUTION:
• Never tow 4WD models with any of the wheels on the ground as this may cause serious and expensive damage to the
transfer case and transmission.
Towing Point
CAUTION:
Never tow the vehicle using only the towing points. To avoid
damaging the vehicle body, use proper towing equipment when
towing.
Vehicle Recovery (Freeing a stuck vehicle)INFOID:0000000005370268
•Tow chains or cables must be attached only to the main structural members of the vehicle.
• Pulling devices should be routed so they do not touch any part of the suspension, steering, brake or
cooling systems
• Always pull the cable straight out from the front or rear of the vehicle. Never pull the vehicle at a
sideways angle.
• Pulling devices such as ropes or canvas straps are not recommended for use for vehicle towing or
recovery.

FRONT DOOR GLASS
Removal
1. Remove the front door speaker. Refer the AV-174, "Removal and Installation".
2. Position aside the vapor shield.
3. Remove the hole cover over rear glass bolt.
4. Temporarily reconnect the power window switch.
5. Operate the power window main switch to raise/lo wer the door window until the glass bolts can be seen.
6. Remove the inside seal.
7. Remove the glass bolts.
8. While holding the front door glass, raise it at the rear end and pull the glass out of the sash toward the outside of the door.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Two different maintenance schedules are provi
ded, and should be used, depending upon the conditions in
which the vehicle is mainly operated. After 60,000 miles (96,000 km) or 48 months, continue the periodic
maintenance at the same mileage or ti me intervals, whichever comes first.

Whenever you drive off-road through sand, mud, or wa ter; more frequent maintenance may be required for the
following items:
Brake pads and rotors
Brake lines and hoses
Rear final drive oil, transmission fluid, and transfer fluid

Schedule 1Follow Periodic Maintenance Schedule 1 if the driving habits frequently includes
one or more of the following driving conditions:
• Repeated short trips of less than 5 miles (8 km).
• Repeated short trips of less than 10 miles (16 km) with outside temperatures re-
maining below freezing.
• Operating in hot weather in stop-and-go “rush hour” traffic.
• Extensive idling and/or low speed driving for long distances, such as police, taxi

deterioration in drive ability and automatic transmission durability, and may damage the automatic transmission, which is not
covered by the INFINITI new vehicle limited warranty.

(1) After 60,000 miles (96,000 km) or 48 months, inspect every 15,000 miles (24,000 km) or 12 months. Replace the drive belts i f found
damaged or if the auto belt tensioner reading reaches the maximum limit.
(2) Maintenance-free item. For service procedures, go to FL section.
(3) After 60,000 miles (96,000 km) or 48 months, replace every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) or 24 months.
(4) Periodic maintenance is not required. However, if valve noise increases, inspect valve clearance.
* Maintenance items and inte rvals with “*” are recommended by NISSAN for reliable vehicle operation. The owner need not perform
such maintenance in order to maintain the emission warranty or manufacturer recall liability. Other maintenance items and inter vals are

A/T FLUID
A/T FLUID : Checking
the A/T Fluid (ATF)INFOID:0000000005403151
CAUTION:
If using the vehicle for towing, the A/T fluid must be replaced as specified. Refer to MA-9, "
Introduc-
tion of Periodic Maintenance".
1. Before driving, the A/T fluid level can be checked at A/T fluid temperatures of 30 ° to 50 ° C (86 ° to 122° F) using the “COLD”
range on the A/T fluid level gauge as follows:
a. Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
b. Start the engine and move the selector lever through each gear position. Shift the selector lever into the “P” position.
c. Check the A/T fluid level with the engine idling.
d. Remove the A/T fluid level gauge and wipe it clean with a lint- free paper.
CAUTION:
When wiping the A/T fluid from the A/T fluid level gauge,
always use a lint-free paper, not a cloth.
e. Re-insert the A/T fluid level gauge into the A/T fluid charging pipe until the cap contacts the top of the A/T fluid charging pipe
as shown.
CAUTION:
To check A/T fluid level, insert th e A/T fluid level gauge until
the cap contacts the top of the A/T fluid charging pipe, with
the gauge reversed from the normal inserted position.
f. Remove the A/T fluid level gauge and note the A/T fluid level. If the A/T fluid level is at low side of range, add A/T fluid to the
transmission through the A/T fluid charging pipe.
CAUTION:
Do not overfill the tran smission with A/T fluid.
g. Install the A/T fluid level gauge and the A/T fluid level gauge bolt.
2. Warm up the engine and transmission.
3. Check for any A/T fluid leaks.
4. Drive the vehicle to increase the A/T fluid temperature to 80 ° C (176 ° F).
