Transmission
Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive sends
engine power to all four wheels for
extra traction.
Transfer Case Buttons
The transfer case buttons are
located to the right of the instrument
panel cluster. Use these switches to
shift into and out of the different
Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive modes.

m(Four-Wheel High): For driving
in most street and highway
situations.
N (Neutral): Shift the transfer case
to Neutral only when towing the
vehicle. See Driving Characteristics
and Towing Tips on page 9‑70.

Power Outlets
The accessory power outlets can be
used to connect auxiliary electrical
equipment, such as a cellular
phone.
There are two accessory power
outlets located under the climate
control system. There is also
one accessory power outlet
located in the rear cargo area
(H3 model only).
To use the outlet, open the cover.

Sunroof
To open or close the sunroof, press
the front or rear of the switch.

Performance and
Maintenance
Traction Control
System (TCS)
The traction control system limits
wheel spin. The system turns on
automatically every time the vehicle
is started.
.To turn off traction control,
press and release the
dbutton
located on the Instrument
panel.

Windshield Washer
L(Washer Fluid): To spray
washer fluid on the windshield, push
the paddle marked with
Lat the
top of the turn signal/lane change
lever. The wipers will clear the
window and then either stop or
return to the preset speed.
{WARNING
In freezing weather, do not use
your washer until the windshield
is warmed. Otherwise the
washer fluid can form ice on the
windshield, blocking your vision.
Rear Window
Wiper/Washer
For vehicles with this feature, the
knob is located on the instrument
panel below the climate controls.
Z (Rear Wiper): Turn to 1 for a
slower wiping speed or to 2 for a
faster wiping speed. 0 (Off):
Turn to 0 for off.
= (Washer Fluid): Press to wash
and wipe the window.
The rear window washer uses the
same fluid bottle as the windshield
washer. Check the fluid level if the
windshield can be washed, but the
rear windows cannot.
Compass
Compass Display
The inside rearview mirror may have
a compass display. Press
zto turn
the compass display on or off.

Power Outlets
The accessory power outlets can be
used to connect auxiliary electrical
equipment, such as a cellular
phone.
There are two accessory power
outlets located under the climate
control system. There is also one
accessory power outlet located in
the rear cargo area (H3 model only).
Pull down the small cover to access
the accessory power outlet.
Notice:Leaving electrical
equipment on for extended
periods will drain the battery.
Always unplug electrical
equipment when not in use
and do not plug in equipment
that exceeds the maximum
amperage rating of 20 amperes. Certain electrical accessories
may not be compatible with the
accessory power outlet and could
result in blown vehicle or adapter
fuses. If you experience a problem,
see your dealer for additional
information on accessory power
outlets.
Notice:
Adding any electrical
equipment to the vehicle
can damage it or keep other
components from working as
they should. The repairs would
not be covered by the vehicle
warranty. Do not use equipment
exceeding maximum amperage
rating of 20 amperes. Check
with your dealer before adding
electrical equipment.
When adding electrical equipment,
be sure to follow the proper
installation instructions included
with the equipment. Notice:
Improper use of the
power outlet can cause damage
not covered by the vehicle
warranty. Do not hang any type
of accessory or accessory
bracket from the plug because
the power outlets are designed
for accessory power plugs only.
Cigarette Lighter
For vehicles with a lighter, push the
lighter down and it will pop up when
it is ready to be used.
Notice: Holding a cigarette lighter
in while it is heating does not let
the lighter back away from the
heating element when it is hot.
Damage from overheating can
occur to the lighter or heating
element, or a fuse could be
blown. Do not hold a cigarette
lighter in while it is heating.

Engine Cooling System
Messages
AC (Air Conditioning) OFF
This message displays when the
engine coolant temperature is too
high and the air conditioning in
the vehicle needs to be turned off.

ENG (Engine) HOT
This message displays when the
engine coolant temperature is
hot. Check the engine coolant
temperature gauge. See Engine
Coolant Temperature Gauge

page 5‑9. Have the vehicle
serviced by your dealer as soon
as possible if you suspect the
engine is overheating. See Engine
Overheating
on page 10‑22for more
information.
Engine Oil Messages
CHANGE OIL
This message displays when the
oil needs to be changed. Check
the oil in the vehicle as soon as
possible and have the vehicle
serviced by your dealer. See Engine
Oil
on page 10‑9and Scheduled
Maintenanceon page 11‑2for
more information. Press and release
the reset stem to acknowledge the
message and clear it from the
display.
OIL
This message displays when the oil
pressure is low. See Engine Oil
Pressure Light
on page 5‑17and
Engine Oilon page 10‑9for more
information.
Engine Power Messages
REDUCED POWER
This message displays when the
vehicle's engine power is reduced.
Reduced engine power can affect
the vehicle's ability to accelerate.
If this message is on, but there
is no reduction in performance,
proceed to your destination.
The performance may be reduced
the next time the vehicle is driven.
The vehicle may be driven at a
reduced speed while this message
is on, but acceleration and speed
may be reduced. Anytime this
message stays on, the vehicle
should be taken to your dealer
for service as soon as possible.
Press and release the reset stem
to acknowledge the message and
clear it from the display.
