3IMMOBILISER SYSTEMRUNNING IN YOUR NEW HYUNDAI
B020A01S-DAT During the First 2,000 km No formal running in period is required with your new Hyundai. However, youcan contribute to the economical op- eration and durability of your Hyundai by observing the following recommen-dations during the first 2,000 km.
o Don't drive faster than 88 km/h.
o While driving, keep your engine
speed or revolutions per minutebetween 2,000 and 4,000 rpm.
o Use moderate acceleration. Don't use full-throttle starts.
o For the first 300 km, try to avoid hard stops.
o Don't labour the engine (in other
words, don't drive so slowly in toohigh a gear that the engine hesi- tates : shift to a lower gear).
o Whether going fast or slow, vary your speed from time to time.
o Don't let the engine idle longer than
3 minutes.
o Do not tow a trailer during the first 2,000 km of operation.

However,since it is possible to lock the doors without the use of the key, care should be exercised to ensure that the keydoes not become locked inside the vehicle by mistake. NOTE: If you make your own duplicate key, you will not be able to cancel the immobiliser system or start the en-gine. CAUTION:
o When starting the engine, do not use the key with other immobiliser keys around. Otherwise the en- gine may not start or may stopsoon after it starts. Keep each keys separately not to have any malfunction after youreceive your new vehicle.
o Do not install the metal accesso-
ries near the key or ignition switch.The engine may not start for the metal accessories may interrupt the transponder signal from nor-mally transmitting.
!WARNING:
In order to prevent theft of your ve- hicle, do not leave spare keys any-where in your vehicle.

B880D01CM-DAT Limp Home Procedures
In case the immobiliser warning indica- tor blinks for five seconds when the ignition key is turned to "ON" position,this indicates that the immobiliser sys- tem is out of order. Should the immobiliser system be out of order,your vehicle will need to be towed to a Hyundai dealer for rectification.
In the interest of security, the metal tag attached to the keys which bears thekey number should be removed from the key ring after you receive your new vehicle. In addition, key numbers can-not be provided by Hyundai for security reasons. If you need additional keys or if youshould lose your keys, your authorised Hyundai dealer can make new keys if you can supply the key number.

The vehicle key number is recorded upon a metal tag attached to the keys when the vehicle is first delivered toyou. The key number should be recorded and kept in a safe place in case theneed to order further keys arises. New keys are available from any Hyundai dealer by quoting the relevant keynumber.

B040D01MC-DAT Locking From the Inside
To lock the doors from the inside, sim- ply close the door and push the lock switch to the "LOCK" position. NOTE:
o When the door is locked, the red mark on the switch is not visible.
o The driver's door can be opened by pulling the inside door handle even if the lock switch is de- pressed. B040E04A-DAT CHILD-PROTECTOR REAR DOOR LOCK (4 Door) Your Hyundai is equipped with a "child- protector" rear door lock assembly.
NOTE:
o If your vehicle is equipped with
central door locking system, the door will not lock if the key is leftin the ignition switch when the front doors are closed.
o When locking the door this way, be careful not to lock the door withthe ignition key left in the vehicle.
o To protect against theft, always remove the ignition key, close allwindows, and lock all doors and the boot lid(4 Door)/tail gate(3 Door)when leaving your vehicle unat- tended.

Be careful not to pull the inside door handle while driving. If you pull the inside door handle, the door can beopened and you may be ejected from the vehicle and can be injured or killed.

8THEFT-ALARM SYSTEM
Park the car and stop the engine. Arm the system as described in the follow- ing paragraph.
1) Remove the ignition key from theignition switch.
2) Make sure that all doors, boot lid (4 Door) / tail gate (3 Door) and engine bonnet are closed and latched.
3) Lock the doors using the transmitter of the keyless entry system.
After completion of the steps above, the turn signal lights will blink once to indicate that the system is armed.
! CAUTION:
Do not arm the system until all pas- sengers have left the car. If the sys- tem is armed while a passenger(s) remains in the car, the alarm may beactivated when the remaining passenger(s) leave the car.
B070A01A-DAT (If Installed) This system is designed to provide protection from unauthorised entry intothe car. This system is operated in three stages: the first is the "Armed" stage, the second is the "Alarm" stage,and the third is the "Disarmed" stage. If triggered, the system provides an audible alarm with blinking of the turnsignal lights.
B070B02MC-DAT Armed StageB070B01MCRNOTE:
1) If any door, boot lid (4 Door)/ tail
gate (3 Door) or engine bonnet remains open, the system will notbe armed. If this happens, rearm the system as previously described.
2) Once the system is armed, only the boot lid (4 Door) may be un-locked using the ignition key with-out disarming the system.

B070D03MC-DAT Disarmed Stage
B070C02MC-DATAlarm Stage The alarm will be activated if any of the following occurs while the car is parked and the system is armed.
1) Any door, tail gate (3 Door) included,
is opened without using the trans- mitter.
2) The boot lid (4 Door) is opened with-
out using the ignition key.
3) The engine bonnet is opened. The alarming horn will sound and the turn signal lights will blink continuouslyfor 27 seconds. To turn off the system, unlock the door with the transmitter. The system will be disarmed when the driver's or passenger's door is un- locked by depressing the button on thetransmitter after the system was armed. After completion of the step above, the turn signal lights will blink twice to indicate that the system is disarmed. If any door, boot lid(4 Door)/tail gate (3 Door) included, is not opened within 30 seconds, the system will be re-armed. NOTE: When the system is disarmed with the interior light switched to "DOOR",the interior light will illuminate for 30 seconds.

Only the transmitter can disarm the armed stage. If the transmitter doesnot disarm the system, it is neces- sary to take the following steps; 1. Unlock and open the door with the key, which will cause the alarm to be activated.
2. Insert the key in the ignition key cylinder and turn the ignition keyto "START" position.
After completing the steps above,the system will be disarmed.

B070F03A-DAT Keyless Entry System (If Installed)Locking doors
1. Close all doors.
2. Push the button on the transmitter.
3. At the same time all doors lock, theturn signal lights will blink once to indicate that the system is armed.
Unlocking doors 1. Push the button on the transmitter once more after all doors were locked.
2. At the same time all doors unlock,
the turn signal lights will blink twiceto indicate that the system is dis- armed. NOTE: The transmitter will not work if any of following occur:
- The ignition key is in ignition
switch.
- You exceed the operating distance
limit (10 m).
- The battery in the transmitter is weak.
- Other vehicles or objects may be blocking the signal.
- The weather is extremely cold.
- The transmitter is close to a radio
transmitter such as a radio station or an airport which can interfere with normal operation of the trans-mitter.
When the transmitter does not workcorrectly, open and close the doorwith the ignition key. If you have a problem with the transmitter, con- tact an authorised Hyundai Dealer. NOTE: Keep the transmitter away from wa- ter or any liquid. If the keyless entry system is inoperative due to expo-sure to water or liquids, it will not be covered by your manufacturer ve- hicle warranty.

!WARNING:
1) Be careful that someone's head, hands and body are not trapped by a closing window.
2) Never try to operate the main
switch on the driver's door andthe individual door window switch in opposing directions at the same time. If this is done, the windowwill stop and cannot be opened or closed.
3) Do not leave children alone in the car. Always remove the ignitionkey for their safety.

B060A01MC-GAT POWER WINDOWS (If Installed)
The power windows operate when the ignition key is in the "ON" position. The main switches are located on the driver's
armrest and control the front (4/3 Door)
and rear windows (4Door) on both sides of the vehicle. The windows may be openedby depressing the appropriate window switch and closed by pulling up the switch. To open the window on the driver's side,press the switch(1) halfway down. The window moves as long as the switch is operated. To fully open the driver's win-dow automatically, press the switch fully down. In automatic operation, the window will fully open even if you let go of theswitch. To stop at the desired opening, pull up and release the switch.
3 Door
4 Door In order to prevent operation of the passenger front (4/3 Door) and rear windows (4Door), a window lockswitch(2) is provided on the armrest of the driver's door. To disable the power windows, press the window lock switch.To revert to normal operation, press the window lock switch a second time. NOTE: The power windows can be operated for 30 seconds after the ignition key is turned to the "ACC" or "LOCK"positions, or removed from the igni- tion switch. If the front doors are opened during this 30 second pe-riod, the power windows can no longer be operated without the igni- tion key turned to the "ON" position.

B200A01S-GAT Adjusting Your Seat Belt You should place the belt as low as possible on your hips, not on yourwaist. If the belt is located too high on your body, you could slide under it in case of an accident or a sudden stop.This could result of death, serious in- jury or property damage. Both arms should not be under or over the belt.Rather, one should be over and the other under, as shown in the illustration. Never wear the seat belt under the armnearest the door.
If there is a sudden stop or impact,however, the belt will lock into position.It will also lock if you try to lean forward too quickly. Check to make sure that the belt is properly locked and that thebelt is not twisted. NOTE: If the seat belt is not fastened when the ignition key is turned from the"OFF" position to the "ON" position, the seat belt warning will activate to remind the driver to fasten the seatbelt as follows.
*1) When the ignition key is turned from
"OFF" position to "ON" within 1 minute.
*2) The switch returns to "ON" when
you let go of the key.
*3) If the vehicle speed exceeds 9km/ h, the seat belt chime also sounds for about 1~2 minutes.If the vehicle speed is below 9km/h,1 minute later the seat belt chime also sounds for about 1~2 minutes.
NOTE: If the driver's seat belt is operated in this order "unbuckled
buckled
unbuckled" within 9 seconds after the seat belt is buckled, the seat belt warning light and chime will notactivate.
