DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM (AV CONTROL UNIT)
DATA MONITOR
ALL SIGNALS
 Displays the status of the following vehicle signals inputted to the AV control unit.
 For each signal, actual signal can be compared with the condition recognized on the system.
SELECTION FROM MENU
 AV COMM CIRCUIT [U1300]
 REAR-CAMERA LAN CONN [U1252]With rear control switch
When either one of the following items is
detected:
 camera control unit power supply and
ground circuits are malfunctioning.
 AV communication signal between AV
control unit and Camera control unit is
malfunctioning.
 AV communication circuits between mul-
tifunction switch and rear control switch
are malfunctioning.
 AV communication circuits between rear
control switch and camera control unit
are malfunctioning. Camera control unit power supply and
ground circuits

 AV communication circuits between mul-
tifunction switch and rear control switch
 AV communication circuits between rear

Without rear control switch
When either one of the following items is
detected:

ground circuits are malfunctioning.

control unit and camera control unit is
malfunctioning.
 AV communication signal between AV
control unit and camera control unit is

AV CONTROL UNIT It is the master unit of the MULTI AV system, and it is connected to each control
unit by communication. It operates each system according to communication
signals from the AV control unit.
 AV control unit includes audio function and vehicle information function.
 It is connected to ECM and combination meter via CAN communication to ob-
tain necessary information for the vehicle information function.
 It is connected to BCM via CAN communication transmitting/receiving for the
vehicle settings function.
 AUX image signal is input from auxiliary jacks.
 Camera image signal is input from camera control unit.
 Composite image (AUX and camera images) signal is output to display unit.
 AUX sound signal is input from the auxiliary jacks.
 Power (signal VCC and inverter VCC) is transmitted to front display unit.

1.CHECK DISPLAY UNIT POWER SUPPLY AND GROUND CIRCUIT
Check display unit power supply and ground circuit. Refer to AV-82, "
DISPLAY UNIT : Diagnosis Procedure".
Is inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Repair malfunctioning parts.
2.CHECK CONTINUITY COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect display unit connector and AV control unit connector.
3. Check continuity between display unit harness connector and AV control unit harness connector.
4. Check continuity between display unit harness connector and ground.
Is inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3.
NO >> Repair harness or connector.

DISPLAY UNIT Display image is controlled by the serial communication from AV control unit.
 It receives the power (signal VCC and inverter VCC) from the AV control unit
and operates.
 RGB image signal is input from AV control unit (RGB, RGB area and RGB syn-
chronizing).
 Composite image (DVD, AUX and camera images) signal is input from AV con-
trol unit.
 Synchronize signal (HP, VP) is output to AV control unit.

1.CHECK CONTINUITY RECOGNITION SIGNAL CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect AV control unit connector and camera control unit connector.
3. Check continuity between AV control unit harness connector and camera control unit harness connector.
4. Check continuity between display unit harness connector and ground.
Is inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 2.
NO >> Repair harness or connector.
2.CHECK AV CONTROL UNIT VOLTAGE
1. Connect AV control unit connector and camera control unit connector.
2. Turn ignition switch ON.
3. Check signal between AV control unit harness connector terminal and ground using an oscilloscope.
Is inspection result normal?
YES >> Replace AV control unit.
