1. To prevent injury from contact with hot surfaces, do not inspect your\
vehicle's transmission fluid yourself.
Have your vehicle's transmission fluid level inspected by a qualified Vo\
lvo service technician.

Front/rear park assist (option/accessory)
Front/rear park assist
The park assist system(s) are designed to assist you when driving into\
parking spaces, garages, etc. They
utilize ultrasound sensors located in the bumpers to measure the distanc\
e to a vehicle or other object, or
a person who may be close to the front or rear of the vehicle.
When is park assist active?
Front: the system is active from the time the engine is started until the vehi\
cle exceeds a speed of
approximately 10 mph (15 km/h). It is also active when the vehicle is \
backing up. Front park assist
reactivates automatically when the vehicle's speed goes under 10 mph (1\
5 km/h).
Rear: when the engine is running and reverse gear is selected.
NOTE:
"PARK ASSIST ACTIVE" will be displayed.
l If the vehicle is equipped with front and rear park assist, both systems\
will either be activated or
deactivated together. They cannot be used separately.
l The indicator light in the button (see the illustration on page 52) will light up to indicate that park
assist system(s) are activated.

Changing wheels
The spare wheel is located under the rear hatch in the cargo area floor.\
The jack and crank are secured in
the wheel recess (see
pages 171 and 173).
There are two jack attachment points on each side of the vehicle (see i\
llustration on next page).
To change a wheel:
- Engage the parking brake.
- Put the gear selector in (P)ark (automatic transmission) or revers\
e (manual transmission).
- Remove the wheel cap (where applicable) using the lug wrench in the \
tool bag.
- With the vehicle still on the ground, use the lug wrench to loosen the\
wheel bolts 1/2 - 1 turn by
exerting downward pressure. Turn the bolts counterclockwise to loosen.

reserve capacity as the original (See the decal on the battery).
WARNING!
The distributor ignition system operates at very high voltages. Special \
safety precautions must be
followed to prevent injury. Always turn the ignition off when:
l Replacing distributor ignition components e.g. plugs, coil, etc.
l Do not touch any part of the distributor ignition system while the engin\
e is running. This may
result in unintended movements and body injury.

Engine specifications

1. Automatic transmission: 220 kW at 100 rps, 300 hp at 6000 rpm.
2. Automatic transmission: 350Nm at 32-100 rps, 258 ft. lbs at 1850-6000\
rpm.
Charge air cooler (Intercooler)
Turbocharged engines employ a turbo-compressor to force air into the eng\
ine inlet manifold and a
charge air cooler to cool the compressed inlet air. The resulting increa\
se in air flow raises pressure in the
intake manifold and increases engine power over that developed by the no\
rmally-aspirated engine. The
charge air cooler (which resembles a radiator) is located between the \
turbo-compressor and inlet
manifold.
Fuel system
The engine is equipped with a multiport fuel injection system.
