PROGRAMMING THE STEERING WHEEL ANGLE SENSOR
DEF: Programming not carried out or incorrect
NOTESNotes:
This fault is present for as long as the steering wheel angle is not calibrated.
It is automatically cleared as soon as the programming procedure is completed.
This fault causes an absence of steering wheel recall (with warning light
continuously on).
Place the vehicle on a front axle adjusting bench.
Position the vehicle wheels in the straight line driving position (steering centre point).
Program the steering wheel angle via command VP004 Steering wheel angle sensor programming
(see Configuration and programming, section A).
Vehicle in straight line driving position (steering centre point).
Refer to parameters PR121 Steering wheel angle and PR007 Steering wheel angle offset compensation.
Both parameters must be 0˚.
Turn the steering wheel to full right lock then to full left lock, and check that the parameter varies within the
tolerances given in the conformity check.
Refer to status ET020 Steering wheel angle sensor programming, which must be STATUS 4.
Start the engine and check the operation of the EPAS by turning the steering wheel from lock to lock
(parking manoeuvres).
If the fault is still present, contact the Techline.
AFTER REPAIRClear the stored faults.
Check that the EPAS is working.
Deal with any other faults.

STORED+ AFTER IGNITION FEED
1.DEF: Abnormal voltage
NOTESNotes:
When this fault appears, the assistance gradually cut outs within 5 minutes.
Next time the ignition is switched on, this fault causes the absence of steering
assistance.
Check the power supply fuse for the EPAS:
–AP44 after ignition fuse (5A) in the Protection and Switching Unit.
Check the tightness and the condition of the battery terminals.
Repair if necessary.
Disconnect the 8-track connector of the EPAS computer.
Check the condition and conformity of the connector and its clips.
Check the conformity of the 12 V after ignition feed, with the ignition on and engine running (it must be equal
to the battery voltage).
In the event of a fault, check the insulation, continuity and the absence of interference resistance on the
following connection:
8-track connector track 8 + 12 V after ignition
Repair if necessary.
If the connections are OK but the EPAS computer electrical supply is not correct, run fault finding on the charge
circuit.
AFTER REPAIRClear the stored faults.
Check that the EPAS is working.
Deal with any other faults.
